Chapter 61: The End of S-Level Quest

"Hurry up and get inside, it looks like the portal will be closing soon," Aurora replied.

Aiden nodded. He sprinted from the ground to the podium, stepping into the portal as Aurora had told him to.

In an instant, another portal appeared and brought Aiden to the cave entrance. He was shocked and couldn’t believe that the portal was a shortcut back to the top.

Aurora smiled and held Aiden’s body as if checking his condition. Luckily, Aurora saw that Aiden was fine, even though his clothes were torn in several parts.

Dysia looked back, seeing the portal slowly shrinking in size until it completely disappeared. Yet, there was no word from Noah.

While at the pyramid, neither Dysia nor Aurora had seen Noah, only Aiden. It was possible that Noah was still trapped in the dungeon.

"Where’s Noah?" asked Dysia, looking at Aiden.

"I think he’s still trapped up there on the 78th floor," Aiden replied.

"Didn’t you bring him inside?" asked Dysia.

"I teleported from that place into the pyramid. I could not even tell Noah because it happened so fast," Aiden replied.

"So, are we going to wait here?" asked Dysia.

Aiden turned his head to the side, looking at Aurora. The white-haired girl was nodding her head, waiting for Noah was better than re-entering the dungeon.

"We will wait for him,’" Aiden replied, and Dysia nodded as she returned her gaze to the front, toward the cave entrance.

He saw Dysia shift her focus forward, occasionally talking with Aurora. Both of them continued to calling Noah’s name from the cave entrance.

Aiden sat on a rock outside the cave, focused on putting his consciousness into his magic pouch. He did so to save his loot.

’If he sees the books, potions, bones, and ten high-level gems, he’ll definitely ask to share the treasure with him,’ Aiden explained.

In the magic pouch space, he collected the 13 good items he’d gotten and put them into the Dragon Undead man’s magic pouch. After the mission was over, he would take the items back.

Aiden’s eyes opened. He kept his magic pouch in its place, at his waist. Aiden walked towards the cave entrance and saw no sign that Noah would appear.

"Is he back yet?" Aiden asked, as Dysia and Aurora turned around and shook their heads.

"I’m worried that something’s happened to him," Dysia replied, Aiden nodding in understanding of the girl’s concern.

Aiden asked them to catch a bird, no matter what bird it was. Aurora understood what Aiden meant, but not Dysia.

"Bird? What for?" asked Dysia.

"Alright, let’s just do what he says," Aurora said, leading Dysia into the forest.

Now, Aiden was left alone, sitting at the cave entrance. There were 77 junctions Noah had to cross, it would take a long time to get here.

Dusk turned to night, Aiden was still there waiting for Noah or the two girls. From behind, Dysia and Aurora came, they looked a mess even though they were only tasked with catching a bird.

"Here’s the bird, Aiden," Aurora told him, her hair and clothes full of leaves.

"It’s so small? Did you take it straight from the nest?" asked Aiden.

"Aurora did. I told you the bird was too small," Dysia replied, pointing at Aurora.

"Hehe, after all, the most important thing for you was getting a bird, right?" asked Aurora.

Aiden sighed, he held the bird in his hand as his eyes closed, ready to activate the Eye of the Beast King talent.

Aiden’s eyes lit up, staring into the dove’s eyes. In the end, the dove’s eyes turned red as well. He let the dove go into the dungeon to search for Noah’s presence.

Dysia noticed the difference, Aiden’s eyes suddenly flared red unexpectedly. When Dysia wanted to touch Aiden, her hand was stopped by Aurora.

"Don’t disturb him," Aurora pleaded, and Dysia nodded in understanding.

"Alright."

From his dove eyes, Aiden saw several intersections of the dungeon. It was a bit confusing since almost every intersection was the same shape, but fortunately Aiden could remember well.

There, at intersection 37, he saw Noah walking up, relying on the digital map on his white plate. The dove kept flying near Noah, Noah saw it but didn’t see it as a threat.

"I found him," Aiden explained, a smile growing on Dysia’s face.

"That’s good. Where is he?" Dysia asked.

"Intersection 37. He’ll be here in a minute," Aiden explained. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

While Aurora and Dysia were looking after Aiden, a mysterious voice came from behind them. Aurora turned around, as did Dysia.

They were a seven-member bandit group. They came with the intention of looting the raid dungeon from Noah’s group.

"Who are you?" asked Dysia.

"We’re just a group passing by and saw a beautiful gem here," explained a man, holding a sword and wearing all black.

His words were meant for Aurora. They had come here because they were captivated by the girl’s beauty, something they had rarely or never seen before.

"What a bunch of disgusting men!" insulted Aurora, summoning ice magic from her hands.

"Aurora," called Aiden, the girl immediately turned her head.

"I’ll leave them to you," Aiden replied.

A grinning smile spread across Aurora’s face. Getting permission to use her powers made Aurora feel no reluctance, she would not go easy on them.

"Aurora?" asked Dysia.

"Dysia, you stay here and protect my master. I will kill them!" said Aurora.

The white girl darted strongly and quickly ahead, accompanied by a strong gust of wind that blew away dust and blurred the view.

The man in black, the leader of the bandit group, saw the white-haired girl coming towards him. He ordered his men to prepare to fight the girl.

"You’re just a woman, not worthy of fighting us!" snapped the man, swinging his sword forward.

The fight ensued between Aurora and the seven bandits, Dysia kept a close eye on Aurora, hoping and worrying that she would be alright.

Aiden closed his eyes, Noah was already close to the cave entrance so he didn’t need to watch him anymore. He deactivated the magic, making the dove get lost and die in the dungeon.

Dysia looked over, seeing that Aiden was not worried about Aurora at all. Instead, he stepped closer to the dungeon hallway and kept calling Noah’s name.

"Y-You’re not going to help her?" asked Dysia, pointing at Aurora.

"Why would I help her? She alone is enough to kill them."

Within no time, Aurora came near the cave entrance with her clothes covered in bloodstains. She was bringing the man leading the bandits whose face was filled with bruises.

"They’re not even fit for me to use as my training," Aurora remarked, throwing the man forward until he was right in front of Aiden.

"P-Please forgive me, sir. I’ll do anything as long as you don’t kill me," replied the man, kneeling pleadingly, kowtowing occasionally.

"What do you have?" asked Aiden.

He took out his storage pouch and dropped everything he had, from gems, moneybags, swords, magic tomes, to useless slips.

"Get as far away as you can. If we see you again, even if you haven’t done anything bad, my girl will probably kill you on the spot!" threatened Aiden.

"I-I’m leaving Clovis and not coming back," the man explained, scurrying away.

Dysia and Aurora crouched down, looking at the quality of the items the man had. To Dysia, they were of medium quality, but to Aurora, they were useless.

Not long after, Noah finally appeared, breathing heavily. Dysia saw him and immediately recovered his condition.

When Noah looked to the front, he was completely shocked to find Aiden in front of the cave entrance, standing with Aurora.

"W-Wait! So, you left earlier?" asked Noah.

"No he didn’t. He went into the magic portal that suddenly was created. He didn’t come like you," Dysia replied.

"Huh? Portal? What exactly happened?" asked Noah.

"Forget about it," explained Aiden stepping closer to him, he patted his magic pouch gently and brought out a chest containing the 7 legendary weapons he had gotten, "The good news is, I found the treasure’s location."
