Chapter 62: Grudge Between Dragon and Human

"Y-You got this much? These things have a high market value," Noah replied.

The exhaustion felt in his body vanished instantly at the sight of the shiny objects from inside the treasure chest Aiden had brought.

Dysia also looked at the place, there were many legendary weapons from owners who were famous in their time.

"That’s right. And also...."

Aiden took out 2000 gold pieces from his magic pouch, which should have been 2500 gold pieces.

He took them out in the form of two large gold bags, one of which could hold 1000 gold pieces.

"2000 gold pieces?!"

Again, Noah was shocked into silence at the treasure Aiden had gotten. Noah had never expected that Aiden had managed to find hidden treasure in that place, even though Noah had been trying to find the location of the treasure all this time.

"I’m a mage, I don’t really need those weapons. You, as an assassin, must need them more," Aiden explained.

Noah nodded. His sword was old and could not keep up with his strength. Still, getting a new, legendary sword was a stroke of luck for him.

"I’ll take this sword, then we’ll sell everything and split the profits. How about it?" Noah asked.

Aiden glanced to the side, Aurora replied with a nod. Aiden agreed to Noah’s proposal.

After resting and recovering, Noah and the others left.

He needed to report to the adventurer’s guild about their successful mission, one of which was to bring their loot for evidence.

In Aiden’s magic pouch, he actually still had many valuable loot items that would be a shame to give to them, especially if they intended to sell them.

High-level gems could be used for various purposes, such as enhancing magic abilities or creating high-level magic equipment. Aiden planned to do that.

In the distance, the city’s fortress wall could be seen from the forest. After about 30 minutes of walking, they arrived at the city at nine o’clock in the evening.

Even though it was late at night, the town was still bustling. Some adventurers had also arrived with their mission results.

Noah and the others arrived in front of the adventurer’s guild office. He stepped inside and watched the adventurer squad leaders queue up to exchange their successful missions for rewards from the guild.

Aiden, Aurora, and Dysia chose to sit in the cafeteria chairs, ordering food and drinks to eat. Aiden refused, as he had no appetite for it —the curse effect.

The adventurer’s guild door opened loudly. Aiden looked back and saw a squad of silver-ranked adventurers arrive.

As usual, people allowed them to put a deposit on their mission results first. Dysia’s gaze locked onto one of the men with armor and a sword, looking at him with admiration.

"I wish I could be in a group with him," Dysia replied.

"Isn’t Noah also a silver-ranked adventurer?" asked Aiden, to which Dysia nodded.

"True, but Noah is a solo adventurer, he’s famous for that. However, it’s different with Aaron," Dysia replied, still mesmerized as if undisturbed by anything.

"I think he’s ordinary. His face may be handsome, but his abilities are weak," Aurora said, speaking while eating the fish on her plate.

"You guys really don’t know anything about Aaron," Dysia explained.

Dysia told them about Aaron. His sword talent was extraordinary, he refused an invitation from a famous sword school just because he wanted to be an adventurer.

At 14 years old, he managed to kill a Lightning Wolf monster by himself, earning him the title of bronze adventurer and future knight.

Within a few years, he had achieved amazing feats, hard to match by other adventurers of his age.

"Even more phenomenal is that he managed to slay a dragon!" said Dysia, causing Aurora to stop eating in shock.

"Dragon?" asked Aiden, and Dysia nodded.

"That’s right! Back then, he was assigned to a ruined city to find the whereabouts of a member of the Ice Dragon clan," Dysia explained.

"He and his group managed to find it. They didn’t hesitate to kill the dragon right away, even stabbing directly into the blue egg," Dysia replied.

’Damn! She’s offended Aurora,’ Aiden said.

He turned to the side, looking at Aurora who looked upset after hearing Dysia tell about Aaron killing a member of the Ice Dragon clan.

The atmosphere around the place became tense, the temperature chilling as cold as snow, Aurora kept her head down with both hands clenched tightly, holding back anger.

"W-Why is this place so cold?" asked Dysia, rubbing her body in search of warmth.

"So, he killed them?!" asked Aurora, her voice low.

"That’s right. Why do you ask in that tone?" asked Dysia.

Aurora raised her head, her eyes filled with resentment and anger that Aaron had killed members of the Ice Dragon clan.

The girl rose from her seat and brought out the ice sword in her hand. Aiden felt that Aurora had lost control.

He rushed to his feet, walked quickly over to Aurora and hit her hard on the back of the neck. At once, Aurora fell faint and lost control of her magic.

The whole place changed to normal, the temperature stabilized. Dysia got up and seeing Aurora faint, Aiden immediately carried the girl in his arms.

"Wh-What happened?" asked Dysia.

"It’s nothing. She’s just tired," Aiden replied.

Aiden stepped out of the adventurer’s guild office with Aurora in his arms. Noah watched Aiden leave, asking about splitting the mission’s rewards.

"You split it with Dysia. Aurora and I don’t need it," Aiden said.

After leaving the adventurer’s guild office. He stepped into the inn in the east to rest. He booked a room and laid Aurora down on the bed.

It was a bad moment when Dysia told her about that. However, Aiden could not be angry since they did not know who Aurora was.

"The Ancient Dragon Clan, they turned out to be a real threat to humans," Aiden replied.

He patted his magic pouch and held a black egg from the Shadow Dragon clan. The egg had chosen him, so Aiden had no choice but to raise it like he had raised Aurora.

"What should I do now?"
