Chapter 85: The Dark Entity

"Wait! Did you hear that?" asked Aiden, shocked.

The man did not expect that Rachel, still on his back, had heard Aiden and Aetherna’s talk and seen the goddess. Rachel only responded with a faint smile on her lips.

"Sorry. I feel bad asking you directly when you’re talking to her," Rachel explained, softly.

Aiden shook his head as he sighed quietly, not expecting anyone else to hear and see that moment. However, it was lucky for Aiden that the one who heard him was Rachel.

With Rachel’s personality, Aiden was confident the dark-haired girl would not cause any trouble about this in the future.

Just as Aiden was still holding the girl, Aiden’s back felt a small vibration coming from Rachel. The man turned his head, Rachel’s eyes glowing back into the dark elemental aura.

’She’s hungry,’ Aiden explained.

Rachel’s face turned red when Aiden realized the sound of her hungry stomach. She tried to bury her face so as not to be constantly seen by her master.

"Master Aiden," Rachel said.

"Alright, I understand."

Aiden picked Rachel up and let her sit leaning against one of the hall pillars in the basement. Rachel sat back while stretching out her legs that were temporarily paralyzed from lack of energy.

The man patted his magic pouch, bringing up 10 A-level beast essences that he controlled around Rachel, making the beast essences float.

Rachel saw it. She immediately closed her eyes and drew out black threads of dark elemental energy to touch each of the ten A-level beast essences. Aiden walked away to avoid disturbing Rachel.

Fiona came out of the fire dragon girl’s room and saw Rachel doing something with the beast essence she had obtained. Out of curiosity, the woman stepped up to them.

"What is she doing?" asked Fiona, curious.

Aiden turned his head, stopping Fiona from getting closer to Rachel, afraid that she would interrupt the moment Rachel ate the beast essence.

"She’s eating," Aiden replied.

"Eating? I brought food for us. Why is she eating beast essence?" asked Fiona, surprised.

"That’s because beast essence is her food," Aiden replied.

Slowly, one by one, the beast essence floating around Rachel began to lose its power, along with the fading red glow of the item. The item split into two, then fell and could no longer be used.

"Now you know she’s a dragon, don’t you think this is something strange for her?"

Fiona was silent. This was the first time she had seen a dragon, even three at once in the previous battle.

Of course, it was natural for Fiona to ask about Rachel’s food due to her ignorance of the dragon race.

"I tried offering her human food, but she refused. She thinks human food doesn’t have enough energy for her body," Aiden explained.

"But if she keeps consuming beast essence, won’t that be troublesome for you?" Fiona asked.

"Indeed, but it’s my duty. She’s a beast I tamed, if I want her abilities, then I have to help her gather energy for her body," Aiden replied.

The woman shook her head, not knowing exactly how Aiden was able to obtain two dragons as beasts he conquered.

However, having them as his beasts showed that Aiden was far more talented at beast taming than she was.

Rachel opened her eyes, pulling back the black energy thread that absorbed the beast essence. In total, she spent seven A-level beast essences to recover.

Rachel’s eyes also stopped emitting the aura of dark energy, a sign she was full.

Aiden reached out, taking the remaining three beast essences while putting them into his magic pouch. The man began to ask about Rachel’s condition.

"I’m full, but the effects of the transformation and the battle are still causing me to have difficulty moving my body," Rachel replied.

"Hmm."

"Looks like we’ll be resting in this place for a while," Aiden said.

Six hours later.

Fire Dragon Clan Hall.

The ruins of the Wasteland Palace.

Aiden opened his eyes, glowing bright red as he continued to stare at the small bird in his hand. The little bird’s eyes were connected to the Symbiotic Eye of the Beast skill, allowing Aiden to see everything through it.

He let the bird fly back to the surface to do some reconnaissance. Fiona and the other girls were in the fire dragon girl’s room.

For some reason, their demeanor had grown friendly with the girl since their arrival in this place.

Aiden didn’t really care about that, it had been six hours since they first arrived, Aiden needed to do some reconnaissance outside the ruins area.

Through small bird’s eyes, Aiden saw the darkness of night still existed with far more monsters roaming around than in daylight.

"What is it?" asked Aiden, squinting.

He looked to the far eastern area, witnessing a giant-sized mysterious entity shrouded in dense dark energy walking slowly.

It appeared to be holding a reaper scythe dragged along the ground, reminding Aiden of a grim reaper.

’Is that the dark entity the fire dragon girl was talking about?’ Aiden asked.

Aiden decided to have the bird fly closer to the giant, of course, so that the man could get a better look at the monster’s identity.

Not yet so close to the giant monster, the dark entity’s red eyes turned fast to the side, detecting life in the surroundings.

Without swinging its reaper scythe, the monster simply released a dark magic aura in the form of a powerful energy blast which killed the bird without a trace, turning it into ash.

Aiden immediately opened his eyes, the power of the dark entity was terrifying. With such power, there was a reason why it continued to roam the Wasteland and not invade the land of the living.

’The fire dragon is right, I won’t be able to defeat that monster.’

’It’s best to wait a little longer until sunrise to return home,’ Aiden said.

The door to the fire dragon girl’s room opened, the red-haired girl walked quickly towards Aiden with a serious look on her face.

Aiden squinted, instantly bringing out a fire spear that combined with the element of light, making the color of the spear a gold-red mix.

"Why?! Do you want to kill me?!" snapped Aiden, on alert.

The red-haired girl stayed silent for a moment, right at a safe distance between them. Aiden kept a firm grip on his fire spear, curious as to what the crazy girl was about to do.

"What are you gonna do?" asked Aiden, seriously.

"Please...."

"What?" asked Aiden, reiterating.

"Please... make a beast taming contract with me!"

"HAH?"
