Chapter 89: Deteriorating Condition

Azar paused, then looked back at Aiden sharply. In truth, he was reluctant to admit that he had been controlled, but Azar saw the moment where his consciousness was shackled and Aiden’s figure appeared in his mind.

Not only that, he clearly killed the knights of the fire dragon clan who came with him. He only killed a few of them, the rest had left to save themselves.

"Huft."

"What are you really thinking, Amber?" asked Azar, flying low while removing the fire spear that was in his hand.

"Do you remember the fragment of the Chronos Fire Dragon’s beast essence in these ruins?" asked Amber, Azar cleared his throat still watching his sister intently.

"Yes, I remember."

"It’s gone!"

"What?!" startled Azar, beginning to stare intently at Aiden again.

Even so, there were two dragons protecting him behind his back, one ice dragon and one shadow dragon. With Azar injured like this, it would be difficult for him to match their abilities.

Slowly, he stepped back while turning his face towards Amber. The news of the disappearance of the beast essence fragment would be a severe blow to the fire dragon clan, considering it was the only way they could resurrect the Fire Dragon Chronos ancestor.

"Does the disappearance of the fragment have anything to do with him?" asked Azar, pointing at Aiden, Aiden deflected Azar’s hand that was pointing roughly at him.

"Yes. When he reached the underground hall, the fragment moved and emitted its own magic, which not even Father could trigger," Amber explained.

"With that happening, you think he’s special?" asked Azar, Amber nodded with a smile.

Azar shook his head. They did know about the Envoy Master, but there was no definite way to determine who the Envoy Master really was.

According to Azar, Aiden could be an envoy of the goddess, or he could just be an imposter taking advantage of the Fire Dragon clan’s family members’ ignorance.

"We have to go. You have to convince Father," Azar explained, Amber looked down sluggishly at the thought that she had to go to the Fire Dragon Palace.

"Can I convince him?" asked Amber.

Azar paused, looking back at Aiden intently. There was a possibility that they could make the Fire Dragon Clan King believe them, but the possibility of the Fire Dragon King not listening to Aiden’s words was also high.

The best option for them was to go to the Fire Dragon Clan Palace and meet with the Fire Dragon King. If they chose not to go, there was a chance that the fire dragon race would go to the human lands and start a huge war that could cost many lives.

"But with his condition, I doubt I can convince him," said Amber.

"That’s the risk," Azar said, looking at Aiden and refocusing his eyes on Amber.

"If I manage to convince him, won’t you guys come after us again?" asked Aiden.

"Of course. If your goals are the same as ours, we won’t interfere," Azar replied.

"Uhuk!"

Aiden coughed as his condition deteriorated drastically, the effects of the regeneration earlier and the use of his eye talent power. He fell to his knees, his eyes clouding over as his head felt dizzy.

Aurora saw Aiden’s injured condition. The woman immediately transformed back into human form, accompanied by a bright glowing ice-blue light.

Quickly, Aurora laid Aiden down on the ground as she began to restore the man’s condition. She stretched out both hands, bringing forth ice-blue magic that was absorbed by Aiden’s body. Amber, Azar, Rachel, and Fiona watched the scene.

’Is it possible that his body suddenly went limp due to the use of that regeneration magic?’ Azar asked, curious.

’If he left in this condition, Father wouldn’t have noticed,’ said the man, the Fire Dragon prince.

Azar raised his head, looked forward and saw that the ruins had shattered into an earthen basin with red flames, the result of using the power of the fire spear.

With the ruins in that condition, it was impossible for them to stay there. Azar looked up at the sky, watching as the sun was about to set.

To go to the Fire Dragon Clan Palace, it would take at least three hours at normal speed, if it was fast, then two hours could also arrive.

"Can he recover?" asked Azar, Aurora shook her head indicating she didn’t know.

"His condition is severe, some of his regenerated organs need to adjust to his body. I think she needs a moment of complete rest for one to two days," Aurora explained, firmly.

"Two days, huh?"

"How?" asked Amber, looking at her sister.

"I could have let you guys rest and not immediately go to the Fire Dragon Clan. However, the ruins of the palace are gone," Azar explained.

"What if we go to Lushan City?" asked Amber, Azar shook his head.

He explained to Amber that Lushan City was not suitable for humans, especially since dragons’ sense of smell could be much more sensitive than ordinary humans. They could tell that Aiden was human just by smelling their scent.

"Then we’ll just spend the night in the village before the Wasteland. If we go by flying there, we can arrive before night," Aurora replied, Fiona seeming to agree.

"A human village? But aren’t you dragons?" asked Amber to Aurora and Rachel.

"Take it easy! Humans aren’t like other beast races. They won’t know unless we transform," Aurora replied.

Azar was silent. Aiden’s condition required extra care from his friends, so it was impossible for Azar to bring Aiden to the Fire Dragon Clan Palace.

For that reason, he was going home first to explain the situation to the Fire Dragon King.

The man explained everything to them. Amber nodded. She really hoped that Azar could convince their father, so it would be easy for Amber and Aiden to talk to him later.

"For two days, you should remain in the village," Azar explained. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

"We understand."

Azar nodded. He looked at Amber, saying goodbye to the girl. The man left a message to always be careful there, because humans and dragons were enemies.

Amber listened. She would be careful and listen to orders from Aiden or Aurora. Aurora nodded, even though she hated Azar, but she would take care of Amber for Azar.

"Recover him and get him ready. There’s a possibility that he’ll meet the Fire Dragon King!"
