Chapter 90: Recover Inside The Village

Azar took a quick glance at Aiden, who still lay helpless, and then flew away to leave the ruined area of the palace.

Amber watched her brother leave, then refocused her eyes on Aiden who remained unconscious.

"We’d better leave before night," Amber pleaded.

Aurora nodded. Fiona told Rio to transform back into an eagle, and he would take the helpless Fiona and Rachel with him.

Although her magic power was drastically reduced, but Amber clearly said that she still had the ability to transform.

Amber asked Aurora to carry Aiden on her back, since Aurora had already transformed before, she didn’t want to make Aurora exhausted.

The white-haired girl nodded. In the glare of the fire-red light, Amber’s figure morphed in her transformation ability from human to a huge fire dragon. Aurora watched as she continued to carry Aiden.

Not waiting long, Amber’s transformation was fully complete. Aurora nodded, she immediately boarded the dragon with Aiden on her back.

Fiona turned her head and continued to watch them. Aurora and Aiden were already on the dragon’s back, a sign that they were ready to leave the Wasteland.

Rio took them and led the way back to the Wasteland border. In a few hours the sun would set, it would be very dangerous for them if they were still in the Wasteland when night fell, especially since there was no safe place for them to stay there.

Aurora looked back, the ruins of the palace where they had originally taken refuge in the Wasteland, had been destroyed due to Azar’s battle with Aiden. Now, Aurora’s focus was on getting to that village and restoring Aiden’s condition.

"It’s up ahead!" said Aurora, speaking to Amber when she saw the lights of the village shining brightly in the dusk.

"Land there. Do the transformation," Aurora ordered, Amber assenting.

Rio and Amber arrived at the vast field of village ruins, Rio transformed first into a smaller eagle size, in contrast to Amber who changed from a large fire dragon form to a human as Aurora and Rachel.

Their transformation was accompanied by a bright shining light, a bright red light shone from Amber’s transformation direction, while an ash light appeared from Rio’s direction.

Now, they had completely survived the dangers of the night in the Wasteland. Even so, Aiden and Rachel’s bodies still limped helplessly, though Rachel still maintained her consciousness.

If they did not immediately evacuate and save themselves to the village, it was feared that they would be attacked by a horde of monsters roaming the forest at night.

Aurora and Amber worked together to carry Aiden, while Fiona carried Rachel on her back. Lucky for them! They met a villager who happened to be returning from the forest.

"What happened?" the villager asked, looking shocked to see so many adventurers coming from the south.

"Help us! Our friends are injured, they need to rest immediately," Aurora replied.

The two villagers gasped; they remembered and were familiar with Aiden’s face. There was no mistaking it, the man being carried by Aurora and Amber was Aiden, the man who had killed the forest monster in this village.

"S-Sir Aiden? What happened?" they asked.

"It’s a very complicated case. Most importantly, help him to rest first," Aurora replied.

The two nodded. They took turns carrying Aiden into the village. The old man with the white beard noticed the noise. He and another man walked over to the source of the noise.

"What’s going on?"

"Oh my!" the white-bearded man was shocked to see Aiden lying helplessly on the sofa of one of the villagers’ houses.

Not only Aiden, but the old man also saw Aurora, Rachel, and Fiona. Yet, he saw Amber for the first time, a girl with red hair and a long red dress. This certainly drew the attention of the old man.

"What happened?" the old man asked.

"She fought with the Wasteland Lord Dragon," Aurora explained, firmly.

"The Wasteland Lord Dragon? That dragon that always roars loudly?!" asked the old man, getting even more surprised.

Aurora nodded and cleared her throat. She couldn’t possibly tell him that the dragon was Amber, but it would be easy to believe if Aurora just mentioned that the dragon ruled the Wasteland, because none of the villagers had ever been there. Even if they had been there, it was highly doubtful that they would be alive.

"H-How did he survive?" asked the old man, growing curious.

The white-haired girl shook her head, saying there was something strange about Aiden that he could fight to a draw with the dragon.

To be honest, Aurora said that not to make excuses, but there really was something strange in Aiden’s body that she didn’t understand.

None of them understood what Aurora was saying. However, the old man responded wisely. He said that Aiden and his friends were more than welcome here, the villagers would take care of Aiden during his recovery.

Aurora and the others thanked him and nodded. He said that they were hungry and needed food from them.

Rachel also wanted to eat, but since Aiden was unconscious, she had to go with Aurora to go foraging in the forest.

The old man nodded, all their needs would be met. Since Aiden had killed many of the black monsters, there were no more night terrors.

It was possible that they were afraid of this village because of what happened to Aiden the other day.

Aurora went to accompany Rachel, Fiona went to the village market to buy some groceries. Amber was left alone in Aiden’s room, guarding him with all her heart.

Amber still remembered what her brother had said about the Fire Dragon Clan King. She was confident that she could convince the Fire Dragon King, but what Amber feared was their perception of Aiden.

Aiden was an Envoy Master, a figure that the Fire Dragon Clan was waiting to see. There would be doubts and so on among the Fire Dragon clan members, Amber had to try to convince them that Aiden could help the Fire Dragon clan.

The door to the room opened, a middle-aged woman came in carrying a bucket full of warm water. She smiled kindly when she saw Amber, never knowing that Amber was the Fire Dragon ruler of the Palace Ruins in the Wasteland.

"Since Sir Aiden came to our aid, we no longer fear the night in the village," the woman explained.

"Now, it is our turn to return the favor for what he has done for us," she said.

"Can you heal him?" asked Amber, sternly.

"Of course. I am the healer of this village. I can help him recover faster."
