Infinite Evolution: My Idle Evolution System-Chapter 313 - 3/7]
Every time Cassius felt like he achieved a new limit, another wider, crazier world would open itself up to him. First was HELL, then the Lands of Beginnings and the Nightmarescape, a potential Netherworld, and now this enlarged world. A world where sunflowers were the size of skyscrapers, where his existence was about as insignificant as they came.
"Well… My turn…?" Cassius asked, trying to distract himself from reality.
Xyla gave the go-ahead with just the sparkle in her brown, doe eyes.
Cassius then let loose his third phrase question. "Truth or Dare?"
Xyla answered Dare.
So as to not set her off or reduce her fun, Cassius dared her to jump as far as she could 10 times in a row. Furthermore, she was to do so while holding her tongue with her fingers. Additionally, she wasn't allowed to take a break in between each jump.
Cassius had her complete the task this way both to maximize her enjoyment and gauge her approximate strength level—just in case things went south.
After finishing the task, it was Xyla's turn again. Cassius did as she requested. Then it became his turn again. This time he asked about the specifics of what she and the other Villagers practiced to become stronger. The answer he received could be summed up as: "Drink Body Liquid, fight Mutants, then use the fight to tremendously quicken the pace at which one absorbed and refined the Liquid before evenly spreading it throughout one's body."
He also got out of her the Ranks that the people of this Village and outside the Village progressed along. These Ranks were also what differentiated the 'Mutants,' which were the common term for the stupidly large creatures and animals in this world. It was unknown why they were called that or how they became so large, but somewhere along the way, humans and the variant human races went from the Apex of the Food Chain to far further down.
From a separate Truth or Dare round, Cassius also learned that Xyla read ancient books that referenced how the world used to be far smaller than it was now. However, that was a topic to be delved into at a different time; for now, his mind lingered on all the Ranks the young girl knew of:
1- Copper Body
2- Bronze Body
3- Silver Body
4- Gold Body
5- Ruby Body
6- Amethyst Body
7- Diamond Body
8- ???
9- ??????
10- ??????????
Cassius noticed how similar it was to the rankings for his System's Loot Boxes. But when considering how far back in time the people of this world—of Prometheus—lived, it was no surprise that their power system would be based on something as simple as metals.
As for which Ranks were deemed relatively strong in Prometheus, well, Xyla being a Silver Body at the age of 8 made her a supreme genius in the 'Gravelin' Region. Moreover, her father possessing an Amethyst Body made him somewhat of a powerhouse in the very same Region.
One might add that this Gravelin Region spanned an enormous distance of millions of miles…
— After concluding the game of Truth or Dare with the gullible Miss Xyla —
"That's that then," Cassius said, having obtained just about everything he wanted to know. "But seeing as you're still raring to go, what say we play a different kind of game?"
Xyla's eyes lit up like the 4th of July as she jumped up and down. "Want to play! Can we play!? What is it!??"
"One question at a time," Cassius said with a small smile. "And the game we'll be playing is one of the most played where I come from. Its name: Hide-and-Seek."
"Hide and Seek!?"
Caught her again!
Cassius inwardly smirked before explaining the general rules of the game that had been passed down from generation to generation since time immemorial. By the end of the explanation, he had the young mistress snagged on his hook, utterly unwilling to let go.
"Alrighty," Cassius said, gesturing to the large number of massive trees that surrounded the Chieftain's backyard. "Why don't we start the game right away? I'll be the one seeking first, whereas you'll—"
"No, Weakling," Xyla said with a light-hearted meat slap. "Want to be the seeker! You be the hider!"
Cassius appeared troubled on the outside, but in his heart, he was evilly grinning. 'When it comes to kids or anyone immature enough, you always want to begin by offering what you don't want,' he thought cunningly. 'They'll ask for the opposite, and you end up getting what you originally wanted without even directly saying it.'
From the experience gained from tens of thousands of unusual and difficult Challenges in the White Space, Cassius picked up more than a few tricks. One of which just so happened to involve how someone should best deal with children.
No matter how smart a child was, there were just some things that stayed consistent for all of them.
"Very well," Cassius wound up saying with a defeated sigh, showing signs of resignation. "Since you're so insistent with your meat slab, I suppose I have no choice but to comply. I'll be the Hider."
Xyla vehemently nodded. She hadn't understood the majority of what he said, but hearing the last part was more than enough to make her content. Right away, she covered her eyes with her hands and began to count down from 300—exactly 5 minutes.
'Good,' Cassius thought while sneakily slipping away. 'It seems the education standard in Prometheus isn't as low as I originally assumed. 300 is a relatively large number, and yet she's counting down from it with little to no trouble.'
His thoughts stirred as he ascended up the mountain behind the Chieftain's house. The waterfall and the magical pond were located around a twentieth of the way up. Which, although not as terrible as it could've been, was still plenty enough to give him some challenging cardio.

Fortunately, the mountain was considered to be on the rather small side, else Cassius could've gone at it for hours and still not have made any progress.
Yet, even so, with his current level of power, ascending a twentieth of the mountain required him to overexert himself for over a minute and a half…
