The enemy's tactics of toying with him left Rain feeling annoyed. His pursuit of power, once driven by a rational understanding that strength could bring resolution and control, now seemed inadequate. The power he wielded through the sins was utterly useless in the face of the dragon god's manipulations and overwhelming power....

The notion that power would provide solutions and a sense of control over circumstances failed to hold true in the face of the enemy's pure, unadulterated power. Rain's longing for strength had been founded on the belief that it would grant him an advantage, yet this battle revealed the limitations of it…
"... Letting the blood rush to my head truly wasn't the best option for me," Rain thought. "They grant quick and easy power, but they came with some troublesome issues. At the same time, it is the kind of power the dragon god uses, and he has a lot more experience, so he can probably find ways to counter anything I come up with quite fast."
Rain was able to cancel the use of the system with a simple thought and the sacrifice of some mana. It was just like he had expected… In that world, the Paths System functioned as a mechanism that influenced all beings native to that place. It offered individuals the opportunity to learn and enhance various abilities through the systematic acquisition of skills.
What made this system unique was its ability to decrease the process of learning and skill improvement.
Ordinarily, mastering and advancing skills would require a substantial amount of time and persistent effort. However, the Paths System altered this by speeding up the learning process, allowing individuals to acquire and refine skills more rapidly than would typically be possible.
This feature of the Paths System was not limited to specific individuals but extended universally across the inhabitants of that world.
As long as someone engaged with the system and made consistent efforts to utilize its resources, they could expedite their skill acquisition and improvement, enabling them to attain proficiency and mastery at an accelerated pace compared to traditional methods of learning and development. The system worked even when people weren't in that world…
With that in mind and considering Rain's recent experiments, Rain confirmed that mana could change the reality of an environment. Not in just the most basic ways, like creating water or transforming mana into Earth, but it could influence things on a deeper level. Like the rings that Rain created… he used a ton of mana to give them abilities that defied logic.
With that in mind, he could mana also to alter the rules of an area. That was what he was doing inside his mind by turning on and off the status screen of the system.
"I was planning to create a different system that would help me alongside the paths system, but I am not sure if it will work when I don't have a body," Rain thought. "I guess I will just keep thinking of some ideas about it while I meditate and get more mana to rebuild my body… I hope that I don't get crazy before that."
Thus, Rain's journey started… while he was thinking about the system that he wanted to create and ways to understand the power of all the dragons and the powers that the dragon god had in order to counter them, he lost the count of how many hours passed.
Rain considered the idea of counting the time to keep himself sane, but he also thought that it would make him go insane faster… Rain recalled that he had read a book about that. A guy was left on Earth alone while everyone was teleported to another world… he stopped counting how many years had passed once he lived fifty years alone, kind of. There was a hot, big-boobed angel with him.
"Don't go there, Rain," Rain thought. "Don't think of creating copies of your wives, and you have other problems… don't create body pillows at their image either. Don't go to that rabbit hole…"
Rain found himself trapped in quite the cycle. He spent considerable stretches of time lost in deep contemplation, pondering about various thoughts and ideas, seeking answers and clarity. He engaged in prolonged sessions of meditation, hoping to untangle the complex web of his emotions and thoughts.
However, as this pattern persisted, Rain began to feel a sense of weariness and frustration creeping in. The constant introspection and deep thinking started to weigh heavily on him. He grew tired of all that…
Frustrated by this endless mental loop, Rain eventually reached a point where he grew tired of his own thoughts. He decided to break away from the seriousness and monotony of his contemplation.
In a bid to disrupt the cycle, Rain intentionally diverted his focus to trivial and nonsensical thoughts, attempting to escape the confines of his overburdened mind by indulging in stupid thoughts like thinking of ten jokes before meditating again.
"... Maybe I should try to unlock a Joker path," Rain thought. "Am I wasting time thinking about this? I want to return to the world outside as soon as possible, but how can I do this faster without sacrificing my mind to do so? Maybe I should learn here the Hibernation skill and only wake up when my body is ready."
That could be a problem if the ring doesn't do that if it is damaged… considering that, it was better for Rain to stay awake and think of ways to speed up the whole process. After thinking for a short while, Rain thought that perhaps he should try to improve the healer's path and its evolutions.
Some skills there should improve healing skills, and that should help… he didn't have many other options, after all.
