[Zombie: Jumper

Enhancement: ???

HP: 5,000/50,000

Description: A zombie whose thigh muscles have developed to the peak of what’s humanly possible. He can jump hundreds of meters with ease, and then some more, though the rest of his body still needs adaptation to his leg muscles before he shows the full extent of his evolution.

With each jump, his body tears and reshapes, providing him more control than before.

Type: D-Grade!]

That description is worrying! I gulped as I took a brief look at that zombie’s status before observing him. I saw him looking around for a few seconds, first at Eva, then at Natalia, and finally at Martha.

How long will he...

Though before I could even complete my sentence, he freed his left foot from the broken glass, placed it against the edge and...

-Thump!

-Crack!

Jumped away from there.

Both Eva and I moved to the edge, trying to track him, wondering where he went.

Lost him.

I clicked my tongue the next second while Eva kept her eyes narrowed in a certain direction. Her eyes glowed faintly red before they turned blue again as she sighed,

"Lost it."

"What... was that?" Natalia asked, worrying as she looked around at everyone.

"A jumped zombie," I answered. Formulated my sentence. Then continued,

"I noticed his leg muscles having more... power than usual. It probably evolved to jump... if you know what I mean? Bad news is, he is probably the strongest of the zombies I have fought."

A silence spread across as everyone just kept silent, lost in thought. Natalia, who seemed the palest, asked again,

"What should we do?"

What should we do? 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

That was a tough question.

Personally, I needed to use the system to the best of my ability. Improve my stats, unlock more functions and skills, and hopefully find salvation out of this mess.

But that’s not the answer I can give to these others.

The zombies were evolving, their strength wasn’t easy to get used to. The inside was probably safe for now, but it was only going to get worse with time, while the outside... it was probably far worse than here.

Honestly? It was a messed-up situation.

"Let’s survive for now," I answered.

They nodded.

"Let’s go up. The CEO and CMO’s office is there," Eva suggested. Then, pondering a bit more, she said," If we are lucky we can signal a helicopter to pick us up."

The CMO and CEO should have licences’d arms to protect themselves. Given that they are on the top floor, they are also most probably alive too. It’s not a bad idea, and certainly better than going down for now. I thought as I then nodded at her words.

Since we are going up, it would be a good idea to get as many rewards as possible from the system as well.

I want to kill all the zombies on the 19th floor of the West Tower.

[New Quest Generated: Kill all the zombies on the 19th Floor West Tower

Objective:

-Kill 12 E-Grade Zombies

-Kill 1 Lesser D-Grade Zombie

Reward: +7 Random Stats Allocated!]

Can’t you give me Exp in rewards instead? I was a little despondent before I reassessed my way of thinking. Then, changing my sentence, I created the next quest.

I want to kill all the zombies from 20th floor to the 23rd floor in the West Tower.

[New Quest Generated: Kill all the zombies on the 20th, 21st, 22nd and 23rd Floor of the West Tower

Objective:

-Kill 67 E-Grade Zombies

-Kill 8 Lesser D-Grade Zombies

Reward: +2 All Stat Points; +1 Skill Points]

A lot many Lesser-D’s, huh?

A frown formed on my face before I looked at the reward. Then, pondering about the skills I had and the amount of experience I could get from this, I sighed before forcing a smile. At the very least, I can level up faster now.

I wonder what the Shop would have.

Turning to Eva, who was waiting for me to speak, I added,

"On the 15th floor, there is a bag of weapons and supplies. Let’s grab that first before going up."

A silent nod before we moved out of the nurse’s room. The way down was safe and easy. Just in case, I gave Martha, Eva, and Natalia an osteotome each. And in between, as we were traveling, I had a certain idea which needed Martha’s help.

"Hey. If it’s not too much, can you do something for me?" I asked her, to which she was confused at first, but then giggled before nodding. Taking that baseball bat from me, and then the nails, she used her newfound strength and...

[Weapon: Nailed Baseball

Attack: 40

Durability: 90/140

Description: A High-End crafted baseball bat that had been nailed at its edge. It is now a deadly weapon that can leave a bleeding effect on the target.]

A bright smile on my face as I looked at my improved weapon.

On the 15th Floor, as we were ready to move back up...

"Michael. You really overdid it, huh?" Eva said, standing at the edge of the railing as she looked at the huge pile of dead zombies below. A few more were crawling around, and now that I have a better look at it, the whole scene looked kind of amazing.

"You have no idea," I smiled, recalling the desperation that I felt back then.
