[Trait: Insight

Effects: Allows the user to have a general analysis of the surrounding. Increases the ability to make quick decisions and find the most optimal solutions to a complex problem!]

If I were to explain my feelings right now, in words, perhaps as briefly as I can.

Epiphany.

Would best express it?

It was akin to waking up refreshed. The refreshing energy that makes you want to do something, get moving, or perhaps anything you would like to work towards. Everything felt renewed. Like somebody enhanced the resolution of everything I could observe or perhaps feel.

The movements of the zombies? Obvious. Their path, their aim? I already knew. Every little detail that I could get from them was something I estimated in an instant. It allowed me to see where their steps would go next, which zombie would approach first, and how much time it would take each of them to reach me.

The upgrade of [Insight] wasn’t just quantitative or qualitative. It was like a whole other level. The world felt a little slow to me... or perhaps I was computing everything faster than I used to.

Though that was just [Insight].

It’s amazing. I couldn’t help but murmur.

The effects of [Inspect], I meant.

The upgrades weren’t just mere quantitative upgrades of information. It was a quality of life upgrade, in more than one way.

Firstly, it had become passive.

Meaning all I had to do was focus on the zombies and find out everything about them. Their grades were written on holograms above them, along with a red bar showing their health. Other than that, there were red zones on their bodies, glowing brightly, showing me their weak points, mostly concentrated on their heads.

Other than that, unlike before, now the description was feeding into my head. Somehow, I knew what that zombie was and how it came to evolve into this. I was pretty sure that if I tried, I could still see the hologram, but that’s for later.

And combined with the [Trait], the entire thing felt... a little too easy.

Somehow, I knew in an instant that I had to move 4 steps ahead first, and then push the middle zombie away with a force kick. I knew that shoving him would make those behind him fall as well, leaving only two zombies, one on each side, to come at me.

I also could ’see’ the left one being one step ahead, and I need to make a hit marginally below his ears to kill him in a single shot.

-Step! Step! Step! Step!

4 Steps

-Thak!

A kick to push back the middle zombie.

And then...

-BAM!!!!

A hit at the exact weak point of the zombie on the left with my baseball bat.

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

Following my insight, I stepped back and dodged the incoming zombie from the right, before going in for another hit on the back of its neck.

-BAM!!

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

2 steps behind and a hit.

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

A dodge and a hit.

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

Then another push to create breathing room.

-Thak!

Take a deep breath.

And then move forward!

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

Even though I did not have a single moment to look behind, I knew that the railing was two steps behind me. In fact, I had the entire layout of the floor in my head, like watching myself from a third person’s POV.

It felt.... Thrilling. Amazing.

-Rawr!

As the Lesser D-Grade Zombie with enhanced strength attacked me, I swiftly dodged to the side before using its own momentum to push it down the railings before collecting myself again.

A few seconds later.

[You have killed a Lesser D-Grade Zombie!]

And believe it or not, I had planned all these steps the moment the zombies approached me. The moment I had noticed the first zombie walking in the horde that was aiming in my direction.

Left.

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

Right.

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

2 Steps ahead.

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

3 steps around the horde.

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

I baited the zombies, then killed them in a single hit. I pulled one of the zombies before throwing him off the railing. Then another, I dodged. Their weakness lay bare in front of me as I killed them using minimal movement. For the first two minutes, I felt invincible...

Though as I reached about the 15th zombie or so, I could feel myself drained.

Not in a sense of physical exhaustion, but more like a mental toll of continuously using my brain without any break.

It was slowly numbing my sensation, and a tinge of pain was following at the back of my head.

"Take a deep breath in..." I mumbled as I closed my eyes for a second, regaining my focus before moving in for another attack.

-BAM!

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

[You have leveled up!]

[All Stats +1]

[You have gained +1 Free Attribute Point!]

[You have gained +1 Skill Point!]

Just at the right time...

All my exhaustion went away as if it had never existed. I felt anew, once again, as if I had just woken up from the best sleep I had gotten. So bright. Full of energy. The pain felt like a distant dream, as if it were just an illusion that my brain had created. With a bright smile on my face, I then looked at the incoming zombie in front of me.

-Thak!

I pushed him onto the others before moving forward to the ones that were still standing.

-BAM!!!

[You have killed a Lesser D-Grade Zombie!]

Oooh! Another one, huh?

I smiled as I didn’t even see what his powers were. Just the weakness and where to hit him.

-Bam!

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

-Bam!

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

-Bam!

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

-Bam!

[You have killed an E-Grade Zombie!]

.

.

.

About 5 minutes of non-stop killing, I noticed that I was once again burdened with pain and numbing. Though because of the number of zombies reduced to less than 30, with almost all of them aiming towards the bathroom of the waiting room, I didn’t feel as much urgency as last time.

-Rawr!

Dodging him with ease, as I pushed the last zombie off the edge of the railing.

[Weapon: Nailed Baseball

Attack: 40

Durability: 2/140

Description: A High-End crafted baseball bat that had been nailed at its edge. It is now a deadly weapon that can leave a bleeding effect on the target.]

It was a good run.

I sighed as put down the baseball bat since it wasn’t going to last another hit. Changing it with two osteotomes from my backpack, I then focused on the zombies that were trying to enter the bathroom.

"Let’s just get it over with," I mumbled, focusing on the [Lesser D-Grade] one’s first.
