Chapter 392: Come With Us

[The Great World — Lester’s Faction]

[Matilda’s Castle]

The air inside the throne room was thick with the scent of iron and ozone. Matilda, the once-proud Queen of Blood, knelt on the cold stone floor. Her regal attire was tattered, and where her left arm should have been, there was only a cauterized stump wrapped in bandages that refused to stay white, Mitsubishi stood at a corner, observing.

"I am so sorry, Husband... I have failed you countless times." Matilda said, her voice trembling. Tears rolled down her cheeks, splashing onto the floor.

She had been given a second chance—a rarity in Lester’s cold hierarchy—and she had not only failed, but every soldier under her command, her most strongest soldiers, the deaths; had been slaughtered. Worse was the humiliation of her physical state. She had no idea what kind of cursed blade the Possessed Leonardo had used, but as a Queen of Blood, her regeneration was legendary. Yet, no matter what she tried, the arm would not grow back; the wound remained, a permanent mark of her defeat, and she hated herself for it.

Lester stared down at her from his seat, his gaze like shards of emerald ice. Behind him stood Nymeria and Madeleine, his second and third brides, watching the scene with silent, predatory interest.

"Why should I give you another chance? You said it. You failed me countless times; giving you another chance is a stupid thing to do." Lester said. He stood up, walked towards Matilda and crouched in front of her, his four green eyes glowing with a malevolent, inner rage.

Matilda swallowed as Lester slowly raised his flawless hand. His nails elongated into obsidian-sharp claws, which he moved lightly across her cheek, barely breaking the skin.

Madeleine and Nymeria looked at one another, then at the two, a hint of concern on their faces.

"As my first bride, you disappointed me... More than anything." He said. With a sudden, sharp flick of his wrist, he slashed her face. He watched with dark fascination as five bleeding scars opened on her pale skin.

"...?!"

The two lady were stunned, while Matilda remained perfectly still. She didn’t flinch, she didn’t scream; she simply stared into his eyes with a heartbreaking devotion, even as her cheeks began to knit back together. Her natural regeneration was working on her face, making the lack of an arm even more baffling.

Lester brought his claws to his lips and licked her blood off them. He smirked, then suddenly shot his hand forward, grabbing her neck and pulling her face an inch from his own.

"I am so mad right now... But." He stared at her, and brought his face closer, kissing her deeply on the lips.

"Ah!"

Matilda moaned at the sudden shift from cruelty to affection. Lester separated from her, letting go of her neck and gently wiping the remaining tears from her cheeks.

"You didn’t fail your mission, it was interrupted by whatever got control of that old elder..." He moved his gaze to her scarred shoulder. "As for your hands, that can be taken care of." He said.

"Oh? What is happening here?"

The five turned toward the massive entrance of the hall. Violet was walking inside with casual grace, as if she were strolling through her own private garden rather than the den of a warlord.

"What are you doing here?" Lester stood up, turning to face the dragoness.

"I am here to know the progress of the mission given to you." Violet said, stopping twenty meters away. She crossed her arms over her chest, her draconic aura simmering just beneath the surface.

"Bad news, we have no news of God Wolf... But if he shows up, I will let you know." Lester answered, his brow furrowing in a frown.

Violet scanned the room, her eyes moving from Matilda—now back on her feet—to the other two brides, finally settling on Lester.

"Ok... Just make sure to complete this task! Remember what you’re after." She opened her palm, and a shimmering projection of Primordial Stones appeared. "The faster you complete this, the more you gain from my Mother."

The group looked at one another and nodded. The promise of Primordial Stones was enough to keep even the most rebellious vassal in line.

"Lilith knows this is a suicidal mission, and still sent you to it... And you fools jump on it like it’s something great. Even if the rewards are Primordial stones, to us, they are like sand."

"...?!!"

The six froze. They turned toward the side of the hall, watching as a rift of red energy appeared out of thin air. From the tear in reality, three figures stepped out.

Violet instantly recognized the leader; he was the same man who had previously approached Lilith with an offer of power. The second man appeared to be made of pure, shifting water. The third was the most striking—half of his body was covered in black, jagged dragon scales, while the other half was normal human skin.

The pressure emanating from these three was suffocating, making the air feel as heavy as lead.

"Who are you?" Lester asked, his voice tight.

The lead man stepped forward, a smirk playing on his lips. "I am the Heaven of Space." He said, gesturing to the fluid figure beside him. "He is the Heaven of Water. And..." He looked at the hybrid man behind him, whose red eyes were fixed on the group.

"This here is a saint, Okinawa Uchina."

He turned his head back to Lester. "We come in peace." He said, waving his hand.

A holographic screen manifested in the air. It showed a recording of the recent events in Harrison’s domain: Sunny descending like a god, killing Harrison, and resurrecting him as an undead commander.

"Isn’t that Sunny?" The group was shocked. Even Violet was left speechless by the display of power.

"Yes. That is Sunny. The one you are sent to kill." The Heaven of Space said, his smile never wavering. "You asked for help from Harrison, and he was killed, his domain taken... Between you and Harrison, who is stronger?"

"How... How do you know that?!" Lester asked, his mind reeling.

"Wait?!!! You asked Harrison for help?!! You are the reason for the destruction in the lower world?!" Violet exclaimed, her expression shifting to a deep frown as she glared at Lester.

"Here we go again!"

The Heaven of Space blurred, reappearing instantly beside Lester. He casually draped an arm over Lester’s shoulder.

"Look at her, she is so bossy, because she has Lilith backing her up... Come with us, and you’ll gain so much power that you can’t imagine of gaining in this life... Even Sunny will be an ant in your presence." He whispered.

’You kidding, there is no way you can be as strong as Sunny. That god is a Realm Ruler. But your strength will surely increase.’ Space thought to himself.

Lester stood silent for several seconds, looking at the Heaven of Space and then at Violet.

"Lester! If you do this... Mother will have your head! She won’t care if you’re her son-in-law!" Violet snapped.

"Oh... Family." The Heaven of Space chuckled lightly. "If she takes you as her family, why would she send you on such a dangerous mission? Not only that, she even sent you towards someone like Sunny. Haven’t you ever thought why she didn’t attack him herself but sent you? Are you that dumb?"

"...?!"

Lester looked at his wives, his gaze lingering on Madeleine.

"I am with you husband, any decision you make." Nymeria said, stepping forward in solidarity.

"Same." Matilda added, mirroring the movement.

Madeleine looked at Violet, her face etched with conflict. She was torn between her mother’s legacy and her husband’s path.

"Milady, please consult with mother, please." Violet pleaded, her voice losing some of its edge.

Madeleine stared at her, then at Lester, and slowly shook her head. "All my life, I have lived under my mother’s shadow. I can’t continue like this."

"But--"

A wave of frigid air suddenly slammed into Violet. It moved so fast she couldn’t react. She was sent flying through the air, smashing into the stone floor near the entrance, where she vomited a mouthful of blood.

"Disturbance." Okinawa said in a flat, emotionless tone, slowly lowering his hand.

’Violet is a Seventh Order powerhouse now, and she was taken down with one finger?’ Lester thought, paralyzed by the realization. As a fellow Seventh Order, he knew exactly how formidable Violet was.

"Oh well, come on." The Heaven of Space let go of Lester and walked back to his companions. "What is your decision? We don’t have much time."

BOOOOOM!!!

As if on cue, an unholy, crushing pressure descended over the entire landscape. The castle walls groaned, and Lester and his group felt their bodies freeze in place under the weight of a supreme aura. The Heaven of Space, Water, and Okinawa all looked toward the sky, their smiles fading into frowns.

"Seems he is here... Your time is up." The Heaven of Space said calmly.
