Infinite wealth In A New World-Chapter 409: Mission
[Great World — The Royal Gardens of Eldoria]
"Wow! Dad is that strong!" Treasure said with wide eyes, staring at Rosita. The story of the Great Wolf’s ascension, of battles that shook the foundations of reality, had left the youngest princess breathless.
"Of course, your dad is the strongest." Rosita chuckled, her eyes crinkling with warmth as she remembered the son-in-law who had reshaped the cosmos.
The two boys, sitting with the poise of seasoned warriors despite their physical youth, looked at one another. A silent communication passed between them—an acknowledgment of the legacy resting on their shoulders. They nodded their heads in unison.
"Don’t worry Grandma, we will be strong like him." Lucian said, a small, confident smile forming on his face.
"My Princess!!"
The tranquility of the garden was shattered. The group turned to see a royal guard rushing towards them, his armor clattering. He stopped in front of the royal family, dropping to one knee and bowing deeply, his chest heaving from exertion.
"What is it?" Ellen asked, her voice cooling instantly. She stared at her teacup, the ripples in the liquid reflecting her annoyance at the disturbance.
"It’s the Black Eye Bandits again." The guard answered, wiping the sweat off his face.
"Those bastards again!!" Treasure jumped to her feet, knocking her chair back. Her aura flared, hot and volatile.
"I thought I dealt with them last time!! This time, I won’t hold back!!" She yelled, her face cold and etched with a killing intent that seemed too large for her stature.
"Calm down, Treasure." Ellen said calmly, her voice carrying an absolute authority that forced the energy in the air to settle. She turned her head to the guard.
"What is the situation?"
"They attacked a village in the Upper World, and kidnapped the villagers, asking the Imperial Family to pay them one hundred trillion gold coins for the villagers’ lives." He reported, his voice trembling at the audacity of the demand.
"So annoying..." Ellen sighed, rubbing her temples. The Black Eye Bandits were like cockroaches; no matter how many times they were crushed, they scuttled back from the dark corners of the realm. She waved her hand dismissively at the guard.
"You can go."
He nodded, bowed, and rushed away to relay the command.
"These guys..." Ellen sighed again, the weight of governance pressing on her shoulders.
Treasure stared at her big sister, her fists clenched so tightly her knuckles turned white.
"Don’t worry big sister!! Leave it to me!" She yelled, eager to prove her worth.
Ellen raised her head towards her chaotic little sister. She looked at Lucian’s stoic readiness and Destiny’s calculating gaze. She sighed, making a decision.
"Ok, three of you will complete this mission... Go now, and make sure all the villagers return alive. Complete this and I will finally give you what you have been asking for." She said.
Her words stunned the three. The air in the garden shifted. The "thing" they had been asking for—access to the Royal Armory’s sealed section—was a prize beyond measure.
"Yes!! Come on, Lucian and Destiny! Let’s deal with these Black Eye Bandits!!" Treasure yelled, her excitement peaking. She didn’t wait for a strategy; she turned and ran, blurring into motion.
The two boys stood up with more grace. They nodded respectfully at Ellen and Rosita, then turned and followed behind her, their movements efficient and silent.
As their figures disappeared into the distance, the garden fell silent.
"Are you sure about this?" Rosita asked, looking at Ellen with a hint of concern. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
"They are strong, and they are experienced in combat. They will be safe--"
"--Not that." Rosita stared at her, cutting through the deflection.
Ellen sighed, leaning back in her chair. "Father instructed me to pass it to them if they’re ready. If they can pass this mission, it will prove they are ready." She said with a small smile, trusting in Sunny’s judgment.
She turned her head to a woman sitting some distance from them on a stone bench, blending perfectly with the sunlight.
"Keep an eye on them, Natasha."
Natasha slowly opened her eyes, the irises glowing with concentrated radiance.
"Ok, Master."
She muttered, and her physical form dissolved. She shattered into light particles, drifting away on the wind to shadow the young royals.
"Just for back up... If something happens to them, I won’t be able to explain to sister Jinx." Ellen added, a shiver running down her spine at the thought of Jinx’s wrath.
WHOOSH!!
The wind instantly picked up, blowing the flower petals into a colorful vortex. The gentle breeze turned into a gust of presence. The next morning seemed to arrive early as the lighting shifted, and a young man in a pristine white outfit appeared before them. His white hair flowed in the wind, and the aura of an Immortal Class entity emanated from him—dense, timeless, and slightly dark.
"You again." Ellen asked with a deep frown, recognizing the signature instantly.
"My Princess, when will you accept my hand. I love you." The guy said with a charming smile, undeterred by her icy reception.
"Are you deaf Perran? I said I don’t want to marry you." Ellen stood up, staring at him with a glare that could freeze a star.
"Besides, Light and Darkness can’t come together." She added, citing the fundamental laws of their existence. She was the Holy Light; he was born of Darkness.
"Who told you that? Light and Darkness can come together and form something new... Please, just accept." Perran said, his face pleading, his devotion genuine.
Ellen stared at him for some moments, searching for any sign of deception, but found only stubborn affection. She shook her head.
"My answer is still no."
"Then I won’t stop, I will continue asking till you accept." Perran flicked his wrist with a magician’s flair, and a black rose flower woven from shadows appeared in his hand.
"Please, give me a chance."
"Agh! You’re annoying." Ellen said.
She didn’t wait for a response. In a flash of golden brilliance, she vanished from the garden, teleporting to the safety of her chambers.
Perran stared at the empty spot where she stood, the black rose still in his hand. He lowered his gaze, his shoulders slumping slightly.
"Fufufu."
Hearing the laugh, he turned to the opposite chair. Rosita was still there, calmly drinking her tea as if she hadn’t just witnessed a rejection by a goddess.
"Huh? Queen mother." He quickly bowed, realizing he had ignored the matriarch.
"You were so into her, I became invisible." Rosita placed down her teacup with a gentle clink.
"A word of advice, if you want to win Ellen over. First, Win her father, then mother, then Jinx, then her siblings... Then, you might have a chance. Remember, I said... MIGHT."
She slowly stood up, smoothing her dress. She walked over and patted Perran’s shoulder with a grandmotherly affection.
"Don’t worry... I know you cared for her, but stop disturbing her and focus on these people l mentioned." She said, and walked out of the garden, her steps light.
Perran stared at her retreating back for some seconds, processing the strategy. He exhaled, a new fire lighting in his eyes.
"Queen mother is right, I should try and build my reputation with her family!! If they like me, my success rate will increase!"
He smiled, clutching the rose.
"Princess Ellen, no one will take you from me!" He said to the empty air.
Rosita smiled softly as she walked away. She stopped and looked at him over her shoulder, her expression knowing.
"How is your mother doing?"
"Uh!" Perran turned to her in surprise.
"My Mother is doing just fine."
"That is good to hear, greet her for me." Rosita smiled, thinking of Lilith, the former tyrant of darkness, and continued walking.
"Yes, Queen mother." Perran nodded dutifully.
He looked up at the highest window of the palace, which he knew belonged to Ellen’s room.
"I will win this war!!"
