Chapter 423: Destruction Domain

[Tens of Miles Away — The High District]

Madurai sat on the ledge of a skyscraper roof, his legs dangling over the abyss of the city. The wind whipped at his cloak, but he remained statue-still, his enhanced vision locked on the factory building miles away in the Southern District.

"What is keeping that old man this long?" He asked with a frown, staring at the microscopic figures of the cops below the distant factory.

The sound of flapping wings cut through the wind. A swarm of black feathers flew towards him, swirling violently before knitting together to form the curvaceous figure of Angelina. She stepped onto the concrete, her presence oozing a dark elegance.

"How are things going?" She asked, staring at Madurai with a playful smile.

"He isn’t back yet... I can’t help it, but I’m having a bad feeling." Madurai muttered in a low voice, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the horizon.

"Bad feeling? You never have bad feelings." Angelina muttered in surprise, her smile fading slightly. Madurai was the pragmatist of their group; his instincts were rarely wrong.

"I know..." Madurai stood up, dusting the city grit from his clothes.

"He went after Esther, even knowing those four are with her... I don’t know their strength, but for the Second Leader to escape? They aren’t weak." He said.

"You do know the Second Leader didn’t reveal her full powers, right?" Angelina countered, defending their superior.

Madurai turned to Angelina, his expression grave. "Have you ever thought why she didn’t? Why didn’t she go all out right there and end these five? Instead, she ran away."

"What are you saying?" Angelina asked with a raised eyebrow.

"You know what I am saying." Madurai clenched his fists, the realization settling heavily in his gut. "She knew even with her strength, she can’t defeat those four. At least not when they’re together." He said.

Angelina stared at him for a long while, the weight of his words sinking in. The idea that Patricia—one of their gods—had fled out of genuine necessity was terrifying. She lowered her gaze to the roof.

"So what is your plan? We are now the ones tasked to take care of these headaches."

"I have only one plan... Separation." He said, his red eyes glowing with calculation.

"Oh, good idea... Once we separate all of them, we can finally take them on single-handedly. I like that." Angelina raised her head to the factory, a cruel smile returning to her lips.

"And I know the right place."

Angelina nodded her head, her mind already spinning webs of deceit.

[The Factory — Internal Hallway]

The hallway was thick with tension. Hunchback Poison stood trembling, his summons dead, his poison consumed like candy. He realized, with dawning horror, that he was prey.

"It seems I can’t escape." Hunchback Poison placed his palms together, his mana flaring wildly in a suicidal gambit.

"Poisonous Gas Outburst! I sacrifice my vitality for this--!!"

"Enough..." Lucian yelled, his patience shattered.

"Huh?" Hunchback Poison paused, the spell sputtering as he stared at the boy in confusion.

"We heard these same words from countless enemies. You just want to kill yourself and take us with you. But none succeeded, what makes you think you will?" He asked, walking towards them. His steps were slow, heavy, and sounded like doom approaching.

Immediately, Destiny moved out of his way with practiced ease. Treasure grabbed Esther’s arm and yanked her violently to the side, pressing her against the far wall.

"What is he doing?" Esther asked in confusion, stumbling.

"If Lucian gets annoyed, we simply let him do as his wish... Only our parents or sisters could calm him down. Luckily, Sister Jinx is with us," Treasure whispered, shielding Esther’s body with her own.

"Hey! Do you think I am those puny guys you fought?!!" Hunchback Poison yelled in rage, humiliated by their dismissal.

"You’re right, you’re not... Compared to their strength, you are still a child." Lucian came to a stop ten feet away.

"Child?!! I am sixty-nine years old, you bastard! I am even older than your stupid father!!"

The temperature in the hallway dropped to absolute zero.

Lucian’s eyes instantly turned black—not just the iris, but the sclera, consuming the gold in a void of darkness.

"Uh-oh... To Lucian, our Dad is like his god... Mentioning his name without respect is a death sentence." Destiny said calmly, adjusting his collar as if preparing for a storm.

"But, why aren’t you guys angry? He insulted your dad too," Esther asked in confusion, looking between the terrified Hunchback and the calm siblings.

"You crazy? We are angry, but interrupting Lucian? I don’t want that." Treasure said, crossing her arms on her chest.

"Same." Destiny added.

Jinx stood calmly at the side, watching everything with a bored expression, though her hand subtly glowed with blue energy.

"You fool..." Lucian’s voice echoed, sounding like it came from everywhere and nowhere at once. "We started training when we were just three years old. Mastered our laws at five years old. And killed for the first time at six years old! And from there, we have fought non-stop till ten years old. We three have killed so many enemies that we lost count... Insulting any one of us is fine. But the moment you mentioned our Dad."

WHOOSH!!

Dark, chaotic energy erupted around his feet, spinning violently around him. It wasn’t wind; it was a void that ate the light. Instantly, a tornado of pure destruction formed in the hallway.

"What the? What energy is this?" Hunchback Poison yelled in horror. He felt his very soul trembling. He quickly ordered:

"Kill him!!!"

His remaining three Legendary summons shot forward with deadly speed, aiming at Lucian’s vitals.

"Ultimate Destruction."

Lucian gave a single command. The next moment, the dark energy expanded outward like a shockwave of erasure.

"You are kidding me... Are you that upset?" Jinx facepalmed. She waved her hand casually. A blue energy field appeared, a dome of preservation shielding Esther from the expanding void.

"Destruction Domain."

"No!" Hunchback screamed.

BOOOOM!!!!!

The sound wasn’t an explosion; it was the sound of reality snapping.

The whole building didn’t just explode; it vanished. Its atoms were unraveled, its existence completely erased from the timeline, leaving only a perfectly flat, barren open land in its place.

"What the hell?"

Outside the perimeter, the police officers, detectives, and even the onlookers were all dumbfounded. They stood with their mouths open, staring at the empty space before them where a massive factory had stood seconds ago. The dust didn’t even settle, because there was no dust left. Just nothingness.
