Chapter 431: Alliance

[South Pole — The Ice Shelf]

"Impossible!! That’s an attack from a mythical summon! How can it be stopped so easily?!" Executioner asked in shock.

He stared at the empty space where his sun-sized fireball had been a moment ago. It hadn’t been blocked or deflected; the laws of physics that allowed the fire to exist had simply been revoked. The gap between them wasn’t just strength—it was dimensionality.

"You kids are still in the dark... Using Mana against an opponent with Primordial energy, are you that stupid?" The First Commandment asked calmly.

He exhaled, a cloud of mist escaping the mask, and rolled his shoulders as if the encounter was barely worth the effort.

"We will overlook what just happened as kids throwing tantrums," He added, rubbing his neck dismissively.

"Kids?!!"

’These guys don’t even take us as threats?!’ Patricia thought in shock. She was the Second Ghost, a warrior who had slaughtered armies, yet she felt like a novice standing before these entities. Their presence didn’t radiate mana; it radiated absolute authority.

The First Commandment stepped forward, the snow crunching beneath his boot. "There shouldn’t be any bad blood between our two groups... Mainly because our Leaders know each other... You have your mission, we have ours, so we should help one another."

"What do you mean by that?" Night Ghost asked with clenched fists.

He calculated the odds rapidly. Even with three Dragons, they were outmatched. The Ten Commandments were not just mercenaries; they were anomalies.

"Simply. Help us get the Beast, and we will help you fill your cup," he said.

The "cup." The Blood Vessel. The artifact Night Ghost needed to fill with the essence of the strong to revive the Saint of Blood’s full power.

"How... How do you know that?" Patricia was getting even more confused. Their mission parameters were top secret, known only to the inner circle.

"We know more than you think... We also know about the four people who entered this world," another Commandment added, his voice distorted by the mask.

The mention of the "four"—Jinx, Lucian, Treasure, and Destiny—sent a chill down Executioner’s spine. These people had eyes everywhere.

"What should we do?" Executioner asked, stepping back slightly. Even with his bloodlust nature, he knew when to back down. Survival was the priority.

"For now, we hear them out," Night Ghost whispered back at them, barely moving his lips.

"Sorry, that won’t work."

"Huh?!"

The three turned to the ten, stunned they had overheard the soul-whisper.

"You only need the Beast to strengthen yourself, it’s not part of your mission. If you plan to cooperate with us now and later attack us for the beast, you will cause a war between our two leaders, and trust me... You will die."

The First Commandment slowly shook his head, his gaze piercing through Night Ghost’s intentions.

"Not like you can control that Beast," He added scathingly.

"Ok, so what’s your plan??" Night Ghost asked, realizing subterfuge was useless here.

"I already told you my plan... We will join forces. We will help you fill your cup, while you will help us get the Beast, that’s all," He answered.

"Just accept it. It’s a Win-win offer," the Second Commandment added, stepping up beside the leader.

"With your strength, why do you need our help?" Night Ghost asked.

He needed leverage. He raised his hand and grabbed his mask. With a sharp tug, he removed it.

The cold wind bit into his exposed skin. The Ten Commandments stared at the ruin of his face—the deep, jagged scar running from his eye to his cheek. But what shocked them wasn’t the damage; it was the glowing red eye that replaced the one he had lost to Marriott years ago.

"Hmm... We need your help to increase our success rate." The First Commandment exhaled, staring at the ocular artifact.

"You think I am that foolish? Of course, I know what is a Realm Ruler, and I know the strength of that Beast... I even know about your Master," Night Ghost said, his voice dropping an octave.

"At the moment, she is in slumber, and you need at least one of those beasts to awaken her, right?"

The ten remained silent, staring at him. The atmosphere grew heavy. Night Ghost had struck a nerve.

"Seems I am right..." Night Ghost nodded, a dark satisfaction curling in his gut. Knowledge was the only weapon he had right now.

"But I will still help you, as you said. Our leaders are friends, and I am sure we all have one enemy. But."

He stared at the leader, his red eye glowing brightly, scanning for weakness.

"I want to see you ten commandments’ faces... Prove you will hold on to this alliance!" He yelled.

The wind howled around them for a long moment.

The First Commandment stared at him for some seconds, weighing the request. Then, He raised his hand to his chin and removed the mask from his face.

The other nine followed her action in perfect synchronization, removing the masks on their faces.

Patricia: "What the hell?!"

Night Ghost: "...?!!!"

Executioner: "You got to be kidding me?!"

The three were stunned, staring at the identities revealed before them. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

Each of the Ten Commandments bore the exact same face. They were identical.

Not to mention, they were all females. Their crimson red hair flowed in the wind like liquid fire, seemingly having a life of its own, while their red eyes were fixed on the Ghosts with an unnerving, predatory intensity. They were beautiful, but it was a terrifying beauty.

"How?" Executioner was utterly confused.

"You three are the second group who have seen our faces... So does this prove it to you?" The face of the First Commandment asked, staring at Night Ghost with a small, cryptic smile.

"Before, why did you all sound like men?" Executioner couldn’t hold himself back and asked.

"Well, that’s just to mislead our enemies, anyway." She shrugged, the distortion spell lifting from her voice to reveal a smooth, feminine tone. She turned back to Night Ghost.

"Yeah, you have a deal." Night Ghost raised his hand and wore back his mask, hiding his scar once more.

"From now onwards, our two forces are allies," he said.

"Good... The Sixth to Tenth Commandments will return to the city and join with your remaining members. They will see to the destruction of that city... I am sure that amount of blood will be more than sufficient to fill your cup," she said calmly, her eyes fixed on them.

Night Ghost stared at the five commandments designated for slaughter and nodded his head. "Yeah."

"Good, the other five will join you three."

"But..." She looked over her shoulder at the flames consuming the decoy hut.

"That old man isn’t here, meaning we were tricked. Do you by chance know where the Mountain King is hiding?" She asked, turning back to Night Ghost.

Night Ghost paused. He recalled the patterns of Marriott’s deception, the layers of lies the old man wrapped himself in.

"I think I know where he is." Night Ghost nodded slowly.

"But we will need a SS-rank summoner," he added.

"SS-rank summoner? Ok... That can be achieved. I will leave that to you." The lady nodded her head, delegating the task as if capturing one of the world’s strongest beings was a mere errand.
