Chapter 443: Golden Statue

[City M — The Inner Sanctum]

"So that’s it..." Shadow said with wide eyes, absorbing the socio-economic reality of the divided city.

"Astounding... Oh well, it isn’t our problem," Nina added, relaxing back into the plush leather seat of the limousine. She wasn’t here to fix their society; she was here to save their world.

Isabel stared at them through the rearview mirror, and slowly nodded her head. The silence in the car spoke volumes about the shifting power dynamics.

The journey to the Marriott headquarters was peaceful, a stark contrast to the violent chaos breaking out in the other regions. After a few minutes of smooth driving, they finally arrived.

Isabel got down first, leaning on her cane, and the four operatives followed behind her. They walked towards a huge, reinforced silver gate. Before it stood more than ten guards, all radiating the dense mana signatures of S-Rank Summoners. They snapped to attention as the Matriarch approached.

"Come on, guests," Isabel said, her tone authoritative yet welcoming.

She led them through the gate, then inside a sprawling, meticulously manicured botanical garden. Exotic plants that fed on ambient mana bloomed in vibrant colors. Lastly, after walking for what seemed like five minutes through the opulent grounds, they finally reached the main doors of the estate.

"Wow. The estate is too big." Alexandra moved her gaze all over the field, staring at the luxury cars parked in neat rows, and two military-grade transport helicopters resting on helipads at the far end.

"The whole estate is not even half the size of the castle grounds back home... But it, it’s big," Jessica said in a flat tone, unimpressed by the mortal display of wealth, compare to Sunny’s, this is nothing.

Isabel pushed open the heavy double doors, leading them inside the echoing grand hall.

[The Marriott Spire — Rooftop]

CLICK!

The heavy security door hissed open, and the five women walked out onto the flat rooftop of the tallest building in the region. The wind whipped at their clothes and hair.

The girls moved towards the edge of the rooftop, staring out at the whole city stretching to the horizon from this dizzying height. The sheer scale of City M was breathtaking.

"This will do just fine," Shadow said, turning her back to the view. She turned to Isabel, her eyes narrowing. "I am sure you got everything in place." She stared at her, expecting perfection.

"Yes."

Isabel struck the ferrule of her cane hard against the concrete ground. "Come out."

BOOOOM!!

The air cracked. Four spatial gateways appeared before them, forming a perfect square on the roof. From within the voids, long, obsidian pillars emerged, covered in wicked-looking spikes and glowing runes.

"Thanks. You can leave us now," Jessica said dismissively, already walking towards a pillar.

"Yes."

Isabel nodded respectfully. She raised her hand and closed the gateways, then turned and walked away, locking the heavy reinforced door behind her.

"Ok guys... The second phase of our mission starts now," Jessica yelled over the wind.

"Yes!"

The other three moved towards their respective pillars, standing behind them, their backs facing the edge of the rooftop.

The four raised their hands, hesitated for a fraction of a second, then placed them on the pillars, voluntarily piercing their palms on the spikes.

"Mmm."

They grimaced in pain, bearing the sting. They slowly pulled their hands away from the spikes, letting their blood flow down the grooves of the five-meter pillars.

"Start."

Jessica sat cross-legged on the cold concrete, and the rest followed instantly. They closed their eyes, joined their palms together in a meditative seal, and began channeling their deep reserves of Primordial Energy into the blood-soaked pillars.

"One more thing."

BOOOOM!!

A dense cloud of summoning smoke appeared all around the perimeter of the roof. When it cleared, thirty Mythical Class Summons—gargoyles, spectral knights, and elemental beasts—materialized around them, standing guard like an impenetrable wall of muscle and magic.

Jessica closed her eyes last. "Now, we must power up the Pillars," she said, her voice echoing with power.

The group nodded silently, infusing massive torrents of energy into the ancient stones.

[Outside City M.]

BOOOOM!!!

The ground shook violently.

"Huh?!"

"What the hell is that?!" A Summoner yelled in shock, dropping his weapon.

"Is that... a statue?!" Another asked, rubbing his eyes in disbelief.

"No... That is the God’s Shadow."

Isabel, who now stood in front of the main building gate at ground level, spoke with absolute reverence. She stared up at the massive, ethereal projection forming in the sky. It was a 100-meter-tall statue of a human figure with ten arms. Two arms were joined together in prayer before its chest, while the other eight were raised toward the heavens, as if holding up the sky. Its eyes were shut tight, and it sat in a serene, cross-legged posture.

WHOOSH!!! 𝒻𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝘯𝘰𝑣ℯ𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝘮

Blinding golden energy erupted from the statue, cascading down and flowing into the ground, penetrating deep into the earth’s core.

"He is preparing to descend into this world! Our only job right now is to protect those four up there!! Got it!" Isabel yelled, her voice amplified by mana.

The five hundred elite Summoners who stood in formation before her nodded their heads in unison, their morale surging.

"Yes!!!"

[Fifth Team — East Coast - Ocean City]

Olivia and Harrison stood on opposite sides of a churning vortex in the middle of the ocean.

Before them were their four pillars, whose energy was already flowing upward to manifest a 100-meter-tall identical statue of the God’s Shadow. But unlike the one in City M, this statue sat directly on the turbulent surface of the water, calming the sea around it.

Behind Harrison and Olivia stood a terrifying sight: rows upon rows of skeletal warriors—Sunny’s Undead Legions, numbering in the tens of thousands, their eye sockets burning with cold, blue fire.

"This is annoying... The Second, Third, and Sixth Teams have three or more members, but we only have two," Olivia grumbled, her hands glowing as she fed energy into the pillar.

"We are only two because we are strong... The combined power of our forces is equal to those who have four in one team," Harrison said stoically, not breaking his concentration.

"Yeah, I know."

Olivia turned her gaze back to the distant city. The coastal Summoners were all standing on their aquatic beasts, floating in the water, while aerial units hovered in the sky, forming a massive defensive perimeter around their ritual site.

"It’s a good thing the King already made his mark here. Otherwise, it would be hard to do this peacefully," she said, realizing the local forces could have easily mistaken their Undead Legion for an invading army.

"Just focus. We must complete this at all costs!!" Harrison ordered. He closed his eyes again, channeling all his dark Primordial energy into the pillars, which pulsed and transferred the raw power directly to the massive statue.

"Sure." Olivia nodded, silencing her complaints, and closed her eyes, fully committing to the ritual.
