Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 638 - A Foodie’s Favorite Past Time (Part 3)
I did not force Hesta on agreeing or signing anything about the offer but I simply gave her the address of the Moonlight and Starlight block and mentioned Halcyon Corporation which owned both places. As reference, I told her to look for Daejung’s Alchemy Shop in the Moonlight block if she had the time to visit Hoffen City. I told her that it was the very first partnership of my corporation with a family-owned business just like hers and the alchemy shop is now very successful.
Hesta received the address card gratefully with both hands and hid it in her bosom securely. She thanked me for my interest in doing business with her and I got till Saturday even wanted me to give me more bread for free but I refused. I bought more of the loaves and buns instead and sent it over to Kama since the people there love bread more than anything. I also placed several loaves in my shared storage with my husbands so someone can just take it and eat it if they wanted to.
When Hesta stood up and went inside the kitchen, I stealthily left the bread shop and did the same abracadabra with my disguise. My next stop will be the small plaza at the center of Qazhad. I asked some passersby as to where the market was and they happily pointed me to the right direction. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
The market in this town is way smaller than that of Hoffen City or Bragen City. That does not mean that it do not have the things one can expect from a market. They have vegetables, fruits, meat, seafood, grains, condiments and spices. The quantity for each type was small though given that this is just a border town and they are not that near from bodies of water. I still enjoyed looking around and buying stuff that looked fresh here and there like a little ant preparing for the rainy season.
I ended up hauling mostly vegetables, fruits and spices. I also picked a few pounds of grains as well as jars of condiments that are available for sale in the shops. As for the meat and seafood, I just a few pounds of each type for now just for options since my husbands can just buy some that they prefer more in the areas where they are anyways. I made sure they have their allowances on time so they could buy anything they wanted.
All in all, the vendors are happy for the sales they got from me. I am also happy for my huge haul so everything is amazing for everyone.
After the little shopping spree and eating whatever I saw that looked delicious on the street stalls, I went around to find the best pub and inn in the area. The pub was boisterous as expected with workers relaxing and drinking their weariness away.
I went to the counter since the bartender was, well, handsome and well he will also be a good person to ask around about the latest events in the area. His name was Kiel, by the way. I asked for the name of the owner and left a card with contact information with advise that my company produces delicious wines and spirits that they may like to sell in their pub.
I ordered a few drinks, just the mild ones since nothing can get me drunk anyway because my body’s regeneration is too high for the effects of the alcohol. There is no point to use up money for expensive stuff when you can’t even get drunk.
I simply looked around and listened to the gossips between the townspeople, tourists, travels and even guards chilling inside the place. The pub was named "Drunk Men" which is kind of very literal choice of a business name since you expect to be a "drunk man" by the time you get out of here.
They menu was comprised a few snacks to pair the alcohol with but as for the taste of the alcohol. it is passable by the standards of this world. The snacks were all like tempura or crispy fried style. There a few jars of more expensive liquors on display behind the bartenders counter for VIPs if they have anyone passing by this place.
After getting some fun and tons of useful and interesting gossip around, I stood up and intended to leave the pub when I saw someone familiar blocking the exit. I sighed at his sudden appearance and simply walked past him, pretending as if he isn’t someone I know.
Giving credit to where it is due, he did try to disguise as much as he could. He copied my idea by wearing a set of commoner’s clothing but since he did not make an effort to change his demeanor, he is currently still screaming "military man" through and through. If you match it with his cold but handsome face that he did not even try to cover, he totally also shouts "nobility" so the whole effort of disguising was useless. And here I was, trying to be unnoticeable throughout the day only to be met with this man who had no issues following me around like a puppy.
I sighed heavily again after exiting the pub and continued walking to the inn that I chose for myself. It was only a few doors down from the pub and it is where I decided to spend my night in. Caius followed me like a very energetic puppy that he is then after a while he even walked happily next to me.
Once we entered the inn, I approached the receptionist and asked how much would it be for to stay for a night inside a decent room. I did not ask for the cheapest one but at least one that is worth the price. She answered that a single room was only 15 silvers for the night which is very cheap since she said that it included a simple breakfast and my own bathroom.
I agreed to it and placed the money on the counter, only waiting for the key to the room but Caius signaled the receptionist to stop. He asked the receptionist how much was it to stay in the biggest room instead. The receptionist was stunned for a moment since Caius voice was deep and cold. Partnered with that handsome face of his, the impact to the poor woman was quite strong and that gossipy look on her face as she looked at Caius and me was priceless.
