Inheriting a Lost Bloodline, My First Task is to have heirs?!-Chapter 639 - Brave or Stupid?

The receptionist stuttered a bit as he answered Caius’ question. The receptionist shared that they indeed have bigger rooms which were usually rented by mercenary parties, families with 4 or more members and there were also once that are considered medium-sized for couples. She easily recommended that we take the one for couples since it has a huge bed that can fit two people, a private bathroom with warm water, thicker walls for privacy, a small dining area and even breakfast will be specially brought up to the room tomorrow morning instead of us having to go to the small dining area on the first floor of the inn. The rent for the room was 40 silvers for a night.

I looked at Caius in confusion and tried to hurry the receptionist to give me my key but Caius intercepted the key and held on to it like a hostage together with my hand that was holding it. Don’t get me wrong since I can definitely pull my hand out easily from his grasp but it is just that I don’t want someone else’s arm and feelings to get hurt in the process.

Caius nodded as if liking the inclusion of the 40 silver per night room and he even brought out money to rent the medium-sized room for couples instead without even asking for my opionion. He flipped my hand and grabbed the key, returned it to the receptionist then took the new room key for the medium sized room in one swoop.

He held my hand and then started pulling me up the stairs since the room that was assigned to us was on the highest floor of the inn which was the third floor. It was the last room on the right. Everything happened quickly that before I knew it, I was already inside the room together with Caius.

He walked excitedly inside the room and even inspected the bed by tapping on it a few times. He looked around, obviously being his first time staying in a cheap inn. He inspected the other furniture and even went inside the bathroom to ensure that the water was warm. I stayed standing by the door, my back leaning on it with my arms crossed in front of my chest while observing him.

Caius came back after a few minutes from his little room explanation with a smile on his face. He started to speak about how nice the room was even if it was awfully cheap when he paused as he saw that I was looking at him coldly.

Caius coughed awkwardly while looking away and asked, "Do you want to take a shower first or do you want to eat something? I can prepare the bath or order food from the reception desk to be brought here."

I smirked at him and responded with a question of my own, "Do you want me to bathe you first or you want me to just eat you up immediately?"

Caius’ eyes widened and I heard him gulp loudly at the direct insinuation I made. His cheeks slowly turned red until it spread to his whole face that he towards the floor abruptly. He then briskly walked towards me, must be intending to leave the room but I am currently leaning on it so it would be impossible for him to open it and exit.

Caius stuttered as he said, "I- I will be leaving now. I- I was just happy to see you. I didn’t mean to- I- I will see you again tomorrow so- Umm... We can go back to my home."

I chuckled and responded teasingly, "You entered this room willingly and so I just let you be. Sure, it was easy to enter, isn’t it? But, do you think you can leave as easily?"

His jaw dropped at my comment but there was no response that he could utter. I clicked my tongue and continued, "And here I thought that you were smart. Honestly, I do not know if you are just plain brave or you are stupid. How can an unmarried man enter a room with another woman where they will be left all alone? Do you trust me that much?"

He stared at me silently and I know that it is taking everything in him to keep himself looking calm. The shaky breath and the loud thumping of his heart is giving him away though. He looked at me seriously, "As I said, I am leaving. I am sorry for intruding your personal quarters so can you please let me pass. I would pick you up by- Mmm..."

Before he could finish his sentence, I grabbed the collar of his shirt and yanked him down for a kiss. I am tired of him trying to reason out that he did not mean to come here and enter my room. Unlike my usual way of doing things, the kiss I gave him was gentle and slow like one intended not to light a fire but to steal one’s soul instead.

It was a brief kiss that ended with me staring in his eyes and our foreheads touching. His eyes were half-closed, hazy with lust and he was breathing heavily. He looked overwhelm with the sudden intimacy after keeping his feeling in check for so long. I smiled at him and asked, "I am quite sure that you do not want us to consummate inside this shabby inn, right?"

His breathy voice answered, "Does it matter where it happens? I am fine anywhere as long as you make me yours?" I chuckled at his answer immediate answer.

Even though the place where we will eventually do it in does not matter to him, it doesn’t mean it did not bother me at all. It was a good thing that there are many ways that I could reward his honesty except for going all the way with him.

He leaned towards me again wanting another kiss but I escaped his advances by stepping side ways. I grabbed him by the collar again and pulled him towards the bed this time. He did not even try to fight my pull and just followed me willingly like a puppet on a string.
