Chapter 661: Chapter 661 - Meeting with the Pope and the Council (Part 2)

I followed Yves along the halls of the temple through all the twists and turns. There was a hidden staircase on one side where we went up to the second floor. After reaching the second, I counted that there were only 5 doors in this huge floor.

Yves gave me another tour since Clarence only brought me around the basement and first floor areas. The young boy told me that the whole second floor is dedicated to the saintess’ affairs. He then said that each door is owned by me.

The first door was my room which was very spacious. It was more of a house that a room since it had a dining area, a kitchen, its own bathroom and even a drawing room. I always thought that only royal palace have a drawing room attached to the owner’s bedroom.

The second door was a spacious study or mini library if I must say. It was filled with religious papers and books. There was a huge table in the middle that looked like a work table. I guess this is my office if I accept the saintess title officially.

The third door looked like a dormitory inside with several beds and a common bathroom. There were tables and closets which means that it will be the living quarters most likely of staff or guards that would assigned specifically to me.

The fourth door looked like a meditation or prayer room. It has the same things inside as the gazebos I saw in the garden filled with mats, cushions and a statue of the Goddess Lumienere.

The fifth door was a storage room for food and gifts that the saintess will receive. Next to it, there was a small separate kitchen inside which seems to be for the use of the staff to cook their own meals.

After the tour, I was then ushered by Yves to the bedroom that I will be using during my stay here. He did not step inside and simply told me that I could freshen up and change my clothes inside while he waited outside for me. I shook my head and told him to wait in the drawing room instead. The child’s eyes widened as if not expecting to be allowed instead then he smiled as if I gave him the best gift ever.

I went straight to the bed which seems to be of a king size and used my hand to check the softness on the matress. It was just right as it has a soft texture but the whole things has the right firmess for sleeping.

After that, I opened the wardrobe which turned out to be filled with simple female garbs. They are obviousless for a priestess. Though they are simply designed, they looked well made and with good materials at that. It looks like they prepared well for the time that a saintess would actually use these room and its amenities.

I opted not to touch any of the clothes since I have a ton of my own inside my storage. I closed the wardrobe and went to the bathroom next to see how it looks. Inside was even more impressive than the bedroom.

It did not look like a bath that will be used by a single person only. It was fit for royalty.

There was a huge circular tub in the middle of the spacious bath. It was so big that I think even 8 people can bathe comfortably at the same time inside it. I just do not know if they had warm water ready to use much less a jacuzzi in this era but it would be fun if those things were added to such a big bathtub.

Though I very much wanted to experience and enjoy the bathtub right now, I know there are tons of people waiting for me at the conference hall so I opted to just use a quick clean spell on my self and change to a new set of clothing that is more formal looking for such an event.

I came out of the room in barely 10 minutes. Yves who was waiting in the drawing room was so surprised that I saw his shoulders flinch from the sound of me opening the door to go out of the main bedroom. He looked back with widened eyes as he saw that I was already cleaned up, dressed more formally and even made up my hair in such a short amount of time.

He quickly stood up and approached me then asked if I was already ready to go to the conference hall with a confused look on his face. I simply nodded with a smile and asked him to lead the way.

He excitedly led the way down to the first floor and through the maze like number of hallways. He made sure not to walk too fast and he always looked back to see if I was following closely. It was as if he was scared that I would get lost or someone will take me away if he wasn’t looking. He is such an adorable child.

After about 10 minutes or so, we finally allowed at a huge door made of metal and wood. Yves grabbed on to the door handle, lifted it and slammed it loudly on to the door once. The door started opening slowly and what welcomed me was a line of paladins, about six on each side in full battle armor holding a spear on the right hand and their other hand touching the area of their chest. They did not look at me and looked forward expressionlessly.

Yves led me past the row of paladins which seems to be the welcoming party and security. We went further inside to a grand hall. We entered from the back and from there I could see hundreds of people in garbs looking forward waiting for my arrival.

At the altar, I saw the pope, Clarence and a group of elders in more exquisite garbs seated in what looked like mini thrones. They were the ones who saw me arrive from the back and they immediately stood up to greet me.
