It All Started With Hatred-Chapter 205: Her soul that needed time to heal
Opening the door to that bathroom. Layla. Jacob found her in the street under the pouring rain. Walked slowly towards the living room Where Jacob was. She was now dressed in his clothes. At least those were new clean clothes better than the ones she was wearing.
Layla sat down across from him."My name is Layla." She said nervously tugging on her sleeves.
Jacob looked at her, noticing how pale her skin was and had dark circles under her eyes."Jacob." He said.
"Thank you for helping me." Layla said. She was tired and in pain. She washed to find a warm place to sleep in right now.
"You’re welcome. You must be tired. I have an extra room, you can stay here until you recover." Jacob said, noticing how sick she was.
Layla nodded her head and let him show her the room. Once her body touched the soft surface of the bed and felt the warmth of the new clean blanket. She didn’t take long to doze off and drifted to sleep. It’s been more than two days since she last had a good sleep. She can’t thank this stranger enough for allowing her to stay here.
________
At the Wilson’s mansion.
Lana watched her grandson’s calm expression as he slept. Franco Isaac and Pearl’s son. He is seven months old now. He was so beautiful and adorable. He resembles his mother so much and has his father’s eyes
Pearl gave birth to Franco three months after Petal was attacked. Their happiness was short as Petal wasn’t there with them. Lana hoped that by Franco’s first breath day. Petal will be awake and with them. Sharing their happiness.
Issac and Pearl got married after their son was born. There wasn’t a wedding party as respect for Ethan. They only registered their marriage legally.
What happened a year ago affected everyone. It was like no more happiness in the mansion. Laughter rarely was heard. Six months after the accident. Ethan asked Sofia to leave the estate with her son. It was a miracle that he didn’t kill her right on the spot for what she did. He only allowed her to live because he knew that Petal would be mad at him if he did anything.
To the underground society. Petal, soon to be Ethan’s wife, was dead. Ethan had ordered Issac to fack the news. To Noah and Sofia too. The announcement was made to protect Petal from any future danger.
"Did he fall asleep?" Lana heard Alice’s voice.
"Yes. Take him to his room." Lana said, handing the baby to Alice."And cover him properly." She added.
______
The next morning.
Jacob was drinking his coffee in the kitchen. Looking at the time. He wondered if he should go and wake up the sleeping girl. It was almost two In the afternoon and she hadn’t woken up. He figured that she was exhausted and she looked sick yesterday.
Jacob remembered seeing her in the bar a year ago and he was good with faces. Once he saw a person. He never forgot her or him. She didn’t seem the weak kind. She seemed tough and can handle things on her own. So what happened to her? He wondered.
Hearing the door to the room open. Jacob turned around looking at her.
Scratching her head. Layla made her way towards the living."Morning." She said, sitting down on the chair yawning.
"Morning." Jacob replied, staring at her. She had cute red fluffy hair. He thought to himself.
Layla was aware of the questioning look in his eyes. It’s only normal to know everything about a stranger you let in your home.
"You must be wondering how I end up in the street in the middle of the night like this." Layla trailed off. Sinking further in her chair.
Jacob only nodded his head giving her the space to continue.
Layla ran her hand through her curly hair and sighed."It’s the same old story. I grew up in a bad environment and I ended up with the wrong guy. He wasn’t that bad, to be honest. But he just hated taking responsibility for his actions. I got pregnant the first time and he convinced me to abort the baby and there’s the second time where he refused to even acknowledge it as his own. He left and I never saw him again. So I had to do something. I can’t raise a child on my own. The money I’m getting from working in the bar can barely last until the end of the month. I abort it in a private clinic where they charge a low price." Layla explained in short. Not looking affected at all.
"Well. You have been through a lot. But I can see that you’re not a weakling. Get yourself together and work on getting a new life. You’re welcome to stay here until you settle your things." Jacob said, smiling at her.
For the first time in a long time. Layla had someone to encourage her to stand up on her feet. It felt good to have someone to support you. "Thank you." Layla thanked him, feeling overwhelmed. She had been alone for a long time. Doing everything on her own to the point that she forgot the meaning of having support.

Days went by and everyone continued with their lives. It was already fourteen months since Petal entered a coma. No sign of improvement. No sign of waking up. The doctors lost hope as everyone did but Ethan didn’t. He was there every day for her. Talking to her. Reading to her. Cleaning her. Doing everything that he could do to her.
Her wounds already healed. Her heart went back to normal. Medically she has a healthy body now and she should wake up anytime soon. But Ethan believed that she needed more time to heal. It was her soul that needed time to heal.
Finishing the daily routine of taking care of Petal. Ethan walked towards the table to sterilize his hands after finishing cleaning her body. Once he finished. He walked towards the window and opened it. Petal loves the morning summer breeze. She used to watch it every morning.
Ethan went back to her bed and his body froze and eyes widened. For a moment he stopped breathing and just stood there unmoving.
