Jobless Transmigration: I'm the only one who loves monsters.-Chapter 94: Heated Meal.
Chapter 94: Heated Meal .
" What’s got your pants all up in a twist. Is it now wrong for a man to feed his daughter when she’s hungry."
Pffttt!!!!
Both Lily and Lavender couldn’t control their shock, spitting out their food in disbelief after hearing what he said, Leo himself was dumbstruck, frozen in place like one who’s mind was finding it difficult to comprehend what he’d just heard.
" Lucuis, this isn’t the time for jokes!" The lady couldn’t handle it anymore and looked like she was about to lose her patience.
Emily trembled facing Hana’s unhappy gaze, unconsciously retreating into Lucuis’s embrace.
" Now look what you’ve done mother. Is that anyway to speak Infront of your grandchild."
" It’s ok Emily, my mother’s just a bit worked up, there’s nothing to be afraid of." Lucuis stroked her ears and hair in other to calm the poor lass.
" That is no grandchild of mine!" Hana rebuked.
It was one thing for him to act amiss in other to gain his father’s approval but going as far as claiming that a non-human child was his was absolutely something she couldn’t tolerate.
" Dear, please calm down." Lancelot placed a hand over Hana’s. She felt disgruntled but reluctantly calmed down shortly after.
" Lucuis... I would’ve understood if you had informed me that you had no intentions of seating through this meal. But to go and involve such a poor child into something like this, I thought you were at the very least, mature, but all I can see from this is that you aren’t." While he didn’t raise his voice, the deepness within was enough to impose on everyone in the room. Even Su began to feel worried for Emily.
" You think I’m lying... Don’t you." Lucuis shook his head lightly before retrieving the item Silvia had handed him last time.
’ Let’s hope this works. Not that I know what it is anyway.’ He then placed the item on the dinning table. ’ wait, how is this supposed to work again?’ Lucuis thought to himself.
’ If I had a picture of Silvia and I together, that would really help right now.’ he thought to himself, as if inline with his thoughts, the small orb began to glow before materialising a pixelated like image of him and Silvia together, her wrapping her hands around his neck from behind, a light helpless smile on his face.
’ Did it just!’ Lucuis was stunned since the image being displayed was the one he just pictured in his mind.
" What is this..." Lancelot questioned, this time his expression had faltered on seeing this.
" My wife of course. Like I was trying to say."
" You expect us to believe you’ve been with that woman long enough for the both of you to possess a child that old?!" Hana interjected, her voice turning hoarse, she didn’t want to believe it but that image definitely looked genuine, and it even captured the younger version of her son.
While the woman did look older than him, it still didn’t change the fact that she was at a loss as to whether the image was genuine or not, moreover, she had no reason to believe that he was intentionally doing this for no reason.
" But brother, she doesn’t even seem to be the same species as the child." Lavender who had been bewilderment one moment after another, suddenly pitched in.
Rather than replying directly to his question, Lucuis glanced at his sister instead.
" Lily, is it unheard of for one to adopt a child of their own."
Feeling everyone’s gaze suddenly shift on her, she didn’t want to say that he was right but that there was no reason for him to do that since if he loved her, he should obviously want to have a child with her, but, facing her brother’s seemingly calm look, she folded not long after.
" Yes... Brother is right. It’s not unheard of for one to adopt a child of their own."
Lucuis nodded in satisfaction, before shifting his gaze towards his parents.
" I understand that you must be displeased with my conduct, mother, father. But please do not belittle my actions." Rather than shrinking back, the dinning hall became even more tense when Lucuis spoke back to his father and mother.
" I’m sure no one here prefers repeating themselves to another but I think it’s best I make it clear to everyone here. This is my daughter, and anyone who thinks or even tries to make her believe otherwise would be no different than someone aiming to insult me."
" I would understand it if you aren’t willing to accept her because of her race, but please, I’d appreciate it if everyone of you kept your thoughts to yourself. I already promised her mother I wouldn’t let anything happen to our daughter while she’s currently away, the only reason I even decided to reveal her to any of you is because I felt that it wouldn’t be right to continue keeping her from you. But from what I can see, I believe that was a mistake from my part." Lucuis ended his speech with a deep sigh. He then got up while carrying Emily in his arms.
" And what do you think your doing!" Lady Hana who had heard all he had to say still refused to believe it, only a fool would believe such a blatant lie, what irked her was the fact that the son who’d told her that he wanted nothing more than to gain his father’s approval, was the same person now openly lying to their faces like this as if he couldn’t be bothered to come up with something more believable.
" Well it’s quite obvious you’re against having her dine here with all of you so as a parent, isn’t it my duty to make sure my child is in a far more comfortable environment than the one you’ve all created."
" Lucuis! Are you insulting your mother?!" Lancelot finally raised his voice, looking disgruntled.
" Everyone here knows that’s not true, all I’m doing is taking care of a child you all seem to dislike because of her own appearance. She never asked to be born this way in the first place so if my actions seem like a provocation to you, I’m afraid that’s your fault, not mine." Lucuis said calmly before leaving with Emily in hand.
Su naturally offered her greetings to the family befo
re following after him, after all, she was his personal attendant.
