John Wicked: Endlessly Evolving My Pet Monsters-Chapter 13: Rest, John’s Plan?
Chapter 13 - Rest, John's Plan?
To be safe, John used Pymon to grab the fruits. Pymon could break the sub-branch that held fruit and bring it to the group.
After getting all four fruits, the tree suddenly glowered briefly before dimming rapidly and turning into ash.
After extracting the Soul Cores of the turtles, with John absorbing their Geno Points, the trio sat on the elevated ground to the left of the pond, overlooking its shimmering surface.
"What are you going to do with three fruits?" Max inquired as he observed John examining the three fruits on the ground in front of him.
"Before using them, I want to confirm something. I heard Emperor-rank Tamers can observe us, but they don't start watching until the 5th day, right?" John asked.
"Not this year," Yuna said as she shook her head. "My father told me that the Tamers of Four Ruling Sects will observe the survival event right from the start."
'Right from the start?' John frowned. 'Surely they didn't see me taking an egg out of nowhere, right? If they did, someone would have approached me, or are they waiting for this to be over?'
'Urgh...fuck, I don't want to worry about this shit.'
"Your father knows such info? Then you must be really rich," Max said with a grin.
"Sun Soar Mercantile," Yuna casually said. "My father is the chairman, and he has some people he knows in the main Spiritveil Sect's headquarters."
"What?!" Max's jaw dropped. "That's like the biggest trade company in the Brimwind Region, with stores and markets across all forty-nine kingdoms."
"It's not the biggest in our own region. The biggest is Stormjade Pavilion, one of the four ruling sects. They have trading branches in all five regions, and they basically make rules for the market," Yuna snorted.
"Ah, I wasn't counting Stormjade Pavilion," Max dryly chuckled.
"Are they overbearing?" John curiously asked.
New novel 𝓬hapters are published on ƒreewebɳovel.com.
"Not exactly overbearing, but they are challenging to surpass and annoying. They got everything better than others," Yuna sighed. "Not to mention that when a company based in a particular region wants to trade with another region, they take a tax-based cut to let us use the safe trading routes. This makes our products more expensive than theirs and other region-based companies there, so our business basically doesn't work in another region."
John raised his eyebrows. "That's clever. So only Stormjade Pavilion can sell products from different regions to different regions, especially the Monsters, Eggs, and other region-bound resources."
"Yep."
"Speaking of the four ruling sects, I am going to join Blazebound Sect," Max grinned. "That's why I want to tame one of the rarest Monsters in this forest and train it."
"Which one?" Yuna asked,"
"Blazeborn Stalker!" Max clenched his fist. "A ghost-type Monster that appears at night in the Scorched Grove area."
"Your Primate can be quite resistant against it, so you do have a chance," John nodded. "Except that, Blazeborn Stalker will also be resistant against Primate's hybrid skills, which lean more towards physical."
"My Sun Fox can take it on and win," Yuna smirked. "Blazeborn Stalker is weak against flames despite being of the flame element but is resistant against physical and hybrid skills that scale more with Physical power."
"I know, but my Primate also consumes less soul energy because of that and hits quite hard," Max grumbled. "We can win."
"That depends on how you fight," John chuckled. "Your Primate consumes more stamina because of those skills, so if you fail your usual combo, which could fail given the common skill set of Blazeborn Stalker."
"Choosing Boxer King Primate as your first monster pet was stupid in the first place," Yuna rolled her eyes. "Boxer King Primate has pretty good evolution paths, and they can be one of the strongest partners since many famous figures have multiple evolved versions of Boxer King Primate, but these monsters shine more when they become King-rank and higher. Right now, you can't even use your Pet's skills properly because, for humans, they are a bit hard to execute, and bad execution will lead to you injuring yourself."
"I know," Max clenched his fist, his eyes burning. "I am training hard, and it won't be long before I master the Meteore Punch combo. By then, it will be hard for Blazeborn Stalker to evade with two of us on it."
Standing up, Max summoned his Boxer King Primate and said, "I had already decided to spend today training after making my Boxer King Primate reach Prime stage."
"And the training is us sparring against each other!" Max shouted while facing Maxon, his voice feverish. "Are you ready, partner?!"
"Oooo!" Maxon drummed his chest loudly before taking on a boxing stance.
"Good! We will show them our power, get them to recruit us in one of the four ruling sects, and when I get Monster Geno Art to become as strong as you, we will rock the world!"
Yuna and John speechlessly watched as Max self-encouraged himself while shouting in front of Maxon.
"Don't forget to hold back, or I will die from your punch, okay?"
"Ooo ooo," Maxon nodded.
And so, Max and Maxon moved fifty meters away on the other side of the pond and began sparring against each other.
"John, you asked about Emperor-rank Tamers watching us, but why?" Yuna asked and blinked, her eyes showing curiosity.
"Nothing. I was just asking since I heard they watch us," John casually replied while in an internal discussion with himself. 'I can initiate Alfred's evolution right now, but his stats are not maxed yet. Given that he is perfect, Pet, Alfred should be able to...'
"Well, they can't observe in this cave at least," Yuna said with a smile. "They just have powerful ocular-type skills from their Emperor-rank Monster Pets. Each one has different types, so the way they can observe and to what extent is different for each Emperor-rank tamer. But I don't think they can watch us here or in similar underground and hidden places."
John nodded and looked at the wristband, "But can they hear us through this?"
"Nope. Definitely can't. They aren't willing to listen to thousands of students at once, too, haha. The wristband's job is just to execute some of the skill' effects of Emperor-rank Pets. One is to teleport us once we infuse soul energy in it, and another function will open for those who survive for five days."
"Which is?" John tilted his head slightly. 'A new function?'
"Storage. It will be 50 cubic meters of space for us to put tents, resources, and anything else that can fit in there aside from Monsters."
"That's great," John said in surprise.
"So? What are you going to do with the fruits? You don't have to worry about anyone watching," Yuna rolled her eyes.
Suddenly, she thought of something and looked at John weirdly. "Don't tell me you want to eat it yourself? Don't do that; you'll die."
"No, though I must embrace a certain level of danger as I should," John smiled and summoned Alfred.
"Hey, buddy. Come here," John said as he grabbed the fruits and put them to the side.
Alfred understood John with telepathy and lay down before John, with the majestically sleek furry head on John's thigh.
"What are you doing?" Yuna confusedly asked.
"Just watch," John chuckled as he caressed Alfred's head a bit before taking a fruit and putting it towards Alfred's mouth. "It's going to hurt you a lot once you eat this, but you have to endure, okay, buddy? I also endure with you."
"Ruff!" Alfred replied, ready for anything.
"What?!" Yuna was startled. "Feeding this fruit will create massive conflict, and it's a Silver-rank Fruit! Your pet will die from the fruit's powerful essence! And you said you will also endure?..."
Yuna's eyes widened as she saw how John was in contact with Alfred. 'Don't tell me....'
"Nobody will die," John smiled as Alfred opened his mouth wide and John dropped the fruit straight inside.
