Journey to the West: Starting by taking Sun Wukong as my disciple!-Chapter 105 Hotpot
The beautiful woman’s words were dripping with schadenfreude as she unconsciously licked her lips at the fear and despair in the Rakshasi’s eyes, feeling a rush of pleasure.
What did it matter that she was doted on by her ancestor and adored by her father?
She was just a puppet, and how long could she stay smug?
True love?
It was utterly laughable!
Seeing that the Rakshasi had completely fainted, the beautiful woman said indifferently, "Take her back."
"What about these monsters?" one of the Asura Clansmen asked.
The beautiful woman looked at the pitiful state of the little monsters and said, "Let them go."
Even if the Bull Demon King wasn’t dead and managed to come back, she wanted these little monsters to tell him.
There was no possibility of the Rakshasi returning!
A mere Great Luo Daluo Golden Immortal, what kind of trouble could she stir up in the Asura Clan?
Knowing what happened later, she probably wouldn’t even dare to approach the gates of the netherworld, right?
Chaos Residence.
"Everyone’s gone; it’s gotten a bit quiet," Chen Nuo said softly with a smile as he looked at the empty restaurant.
"At least Little Kui and the others washed the dishes before they left, or else it would have been a hassle for me."
Stretching lazily, Chen Nuo leisurely made his way to the kitchen to prepare some hot pot for himself, after all, watching them eat was pure torture.
"Although Little Kui and Little Roc had their Divine Skills awaken today, they’re still the same unlucky bunch," Chen Nuo mused while preparing the ingredients, in a good mood.
Not only did it take so long for the second Divine Skill to awaken, but people also left before he could launch his new dish.
He had wanted to offer a free food tasting, but it seemed that wasn’t his fate.
Chen Nuo bought a pot from the System Store and started to prepare the base.
As he worked, his thoughts wandered, recalling what the Three Xiaos had said before they left.
In two days, it would be the Immortal Flat Peach Banquet, and the Heavenly Court would strengthen the management of the Immortals’ duties, so they had to leave.
The plot of Journey to the West had already been completely distorted by his influence; Wukong didn’t become Horse Master, nor did he watch the Peach Orchard but went straight to the Imperial Kitchen to become a chef.
There would be no uproar at the banquet, unless the Heavenly Court dismissed him on the spot and didn’t allow Sun Wukong to cook, which might make the commotion possible.
So, does that mean this time’s Peach Banquet will be prepared by Sun Wukong?
Chen Nuo was somewhat intrigued; he wanted to see what Sun Wukong would make of the Peach Banquet.
But that was just a thought.
Forget that he hadn’t yet reached the level of a Daluo Golden Immortal; even if he had, it didn’t feel like the right time to go out, although a Daluo Golden Immortal was considered a top fighter during the Journey to the West era.
But there were still Saints and Quasi-Saints above.
If he went out and the monkey publicly called him Master, things would get interesting.
He would be stripped bare by Buddhism, and whether he could come back safely was a question.
It was better for him to lay low for a while.
Chen Nuo kept himself busy.
At this moment, however, a monkey had stopped above the Mountain of Mind and Heart.
"Hehe, it’s still my wit that wins out; when in doubt, consult Master!"
"Master’s Divine Skills are so powerful, there must be a way to solve this!"
Scratching his head, Sun Wukong murmured to himself, "I wonder if Master has come up with any new dishes."
He hadn’t quite figured out the last Peach Blossom Brew, but it was definitely delicious.
With that thought, Sun Wukong transformed into a beam of light, rushing into the mountain.
After Chen Nuo had finished preparing the base, he walked out with the pot.
"Master, Master, your disciple Wukong has returned!" exclaimed Sun Wukong as he entered the restaurant at the same time.
The scene was just like their first encounter before Wukong became a disciple.
"Wukong? Why are you back again? Weren’t you in the Heavenly Court as an Imperial Chef?" Chen Nuo asked, puzzled.
"Eh? Master, how did you know that?" Sun Wukong was surprised.
Chen Nuo rolled his eyes. "With Tian Peng’s big mouth, anything he knows gets blabbed outside, how could I not know?"
Sun Wukong nodded. That made sense, and then he turned to Chen Nuo, who was holding a cooking pot, and asked, "Master, what are you making?"
"Preparing a fire pot."
Chen Nuo whispered, feeling a bit curious inside, it seemed like whenever he invented a new dish, Sun Wukong would show up with uncanny timing.
Such luck was unmatched.
New dish!
Sun Wukong’s eyes bulged like copper bells.
"Master, what’s this fire pot?" Sun Wukong hurried to Chen Nuo’s side, eagerly looking at the cooking pot in his hands.
Inside was clear water, but the center of the pot was partitioned, creating a pattern similar to the Taiji symbol.
Curiosity filled Sun Wukong’s face.
"You’ll find out soon enough." Chen Nuo said with a smile, setting up the cooking pot.
A fire pot is something once you eat, you’re hooked, and only those who eat it know.
"Wukong, bring the bell from the center of the back kitchen’s stove over here, and grab two bottles of Flat Peach soda as well." Having an extra pair of hands around, Chen Nuo commanded quite naturally.
"Alright!" Sun Wukong grinned, and the thought of trying a new dish and having soda to drink filled him with enthusiasm.
Hustling and bustling, one would never guess he was Chef Wukong, sought after by the Food God and Stove God of the Heavenly Court’s Imperial Kitchen.
Chen Nuo waved his hand grandly, arranging all the ingredients on the table, and added two different bases into each side of the partitioned cooking pot.
One side began to diffuse a reddish hue in the water, while the other turned milky white.
Sun Wukong had also done his part; he brought over the Li Fire Bell. After receiving the bell, Chen Nuo found the right spot and set it down.
Time to light the fire!
Chen Nuo mentally commanded, and instantly flames flared up—the table was a gift from the system.
He didn’t have to worry about the Magical Treasure ruining the table.
Chen Nuo sat down first, then called Sun Wukong over.
Sun Wukong was a bit dazed by all the ingredients in front of him. How do you eat this thing?
The Li Fire Elixir burned fiercely, quickly bringing the pot to a boil.
One pot fiery red, one pot milky white, one pot spicy, one pot mellow.
It was as if good and evil were in opposition.
Chen Nuo casually picked up a slice of mutton roll and submerged it in the fiery red broth.
About thirty seconds later, Chen Nuo pulled the chopsticks out. The large mutton roll pinched by the chopsticks had now shrunk considerably, becoming light and delicate, adorned with translucent red juices, and the steaming heat made it extraordinarily tempting.
However, Chen Nuo was not the slightest bit tempted.
Damn system con artist!
Chen Nuo cursed inwardly.
The mutton was sliced as thin as cicada wings, which wasn’t obvious when frozen, but once blanched, it shrunk so much that it was almost painful to look at.
How much mutton could be in one box with such shrinkage?
He dunked the mutton slice into a sauce bowl, lightly dipped it, and then stuffed it into his mouth.
Hmm?
Chen Nuo raised an eyebrow, nodded his head. It seemed that even though this shoddily made stuff had a better taste than expected.
Chen Nuo was quite satisfied, but Sun Wukong was already drooling with impatience.
Sun Wukong copied the method accurately, brushing the mutton in the spicy section, and then with a look of surprise from Chen Nuo, he stuffed the piece of meat into his mouth.
The next moment, Sun Wukong almost burst into tears.
"It’s so spicy!"
The mutton was already hot, and combining it with the extreme spiciness was absolutely punishing.
Sun Wukong’s face turned red as he clutched at his face in distress, grinning and baring teeth, frantically sucking in cool air.
Chen Nuo found it somewhat amusing. "Wukong, if you can’t handle spicy, why didn’t you choose the plain pot instead? Why try to act tough? Have you forgotten what happened when you ate the Sauce-coated Duck and how spicy you found it?"
