Kami-Jutsu: The Yakuza's Son is Aware-Chapter 27: The White Wolf in Onii-sama’s Room
Now, I believe I have just thought of the perfect idea.
I took Mai’s face in my hands.
"You certainly like my chest, don’t you?"
"H-Hai..." she replied weakly, her voice trembling. "Ojou... I love you."
"I know. And you will have plenty of me — excluding the most important place — if you do as I say."
She nodded eagerly and then wrapped her arms around me in a tight embrace. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮
Hehehe.
Baka.
I will use you until there is absolutely nothing left of you, you naïve girl.
If I trace my memories back, Onii-sama struck me with the Kami particles so forcefully that my bones and skull were completely crushed.
But there was one other dangerous thing that happened during that moment — the particles entered my body with violent force.
I could feel them biting and stinging every inch of me.
And then... when I was resurrected, the only lingering sensation I could feel was the burning in my chest... along with a few faint sparks in my head.
If my theory is correct, then the state of being a godman is closely connected to the density of Kami particles concentrated in both the brain and the heart regions.
I gently took Mai’s face in my hands and placed a soft kiss upon her forehead.
This girl, I realize, is also a genius — just like me.
I recalled the strange flow of energy within my body while I was being pulled out of the Black Void. The movement of that energy followed a particular pattern, and so I consciously assisted this flow, guiding it in the way that felt instinctively correct.
A normal person, I believe, would not have had the mental clarity to think of such a thing in a critical, life-or-death moment.
I resolved then that I would present Mai to Onii-sama as a godman experiment, thereby earning his trust and proving my capability.
Months slipped by, and Onii-sama continued to go on his little adventures without me.
It was frustrating, but I knew my turn would come in due time.
During this period, I was also growing more accustomed to the presence of Kami particles and learning to understand them in my own way. It seemed increasingly clear that this same energy coursed through everything in existence.
My current theory? Kami particles might very well be one of the — if not the — primary factors involved in the creation of life itself.
This discovery further supports the idea that an ordinary human could be transformed into a godman through a process of elevation or evolution.
However, I was still not entirely certain of this conclusion.
Six months after my own transformation into a godman, I decided to seek advice from the one I believed to be an expert.
"Good evening, Ferry," I greeted the white wolf while standing in Onii-sama’s room.
Onii-sama himself had been sent on some errand with our grandfather. In truth, I suspected they were merely using that as an excuse to disappear into the wilderness for a period of intense training.
The wolf gave no reply. Instead, he busied himself with licking his fur and occasionally twitching his ears.
"I know you can speak. I came to ask for your advice," I told him.
Still, there was no answer.
"Alright, I suppose it’s a lost cause trying to speak to an animal... a dog, no less," I said with a shrug. "Perhaps if I show Father the footage of you speaking, eating, and leaping around like a man, he will have you sent to a research facility at an American universi—"
"Wait, wait, wait!!!"
In an instant, Ferry leapt forward and clung to my legs as I turned to walk away.
"Ara? A talking dog?" I said in mock surprise. "What a pleasant revelation."
"Yes! I am a talking dog. Please, do not expose me!"
Good. Now he was compliant.
I proceeded to extract as much information from him as I possibly could.
Although he claimed to have lost a portion of his memories, what he did remember was nonetheless valuable — crucial, even.
From him, I gained a deeper understanding of what Kamijutsu truly was. I learned that there were gods assigned to oversee various aspects of the world, and I discovered that Onii-sama was a chosen one — apparently a reincarnator from six thousand years in the past.
But in truth, the question I most desired to have answered was this:
"How did I come back to life?"
Ferry hesitated, reluctant to reveal the truth, but a touch of well-placed threat loosened his tongue.
"It was actually a really dangerous and high-stakes ritual," he finally admitted. "One that, under normal circumstances, does not succeed. We were just lucky."
"I see... So my revival was mainly possible because the room was sealed. Is that correct?" I pressed.
"Hmmm, actually yes, in a way," he replied, folding his legs neatly on the chair where he now sat. "If the room had not been sealed, your soul would have drifted away like smoke, carried off to Gaia’s domain."
"Hm? Gaia? Not the afterlife?" I tilted my head.
The earth goddess in Greek mythology?
"No, no. The amount of spiritual energy that entered your body was immense. Your soul was nearly purified, which means your memories would have been cleansed, and your afterlife tampered with," Ferry explained, pulling out a bowl of ramen from seemingly nowhere. "So Gaia would have to fix you up, and that process would take a very long time before you could even have a taste of rebirth."
"Ferry, am I correct in deducing this? If an ordinary person manages to hold Kami particles within both their brain and their heart, without dying in the process, they will evolve?"
The wolf visibly shuddered. "What are you planning, Najimi?"
"Nothing you need to be so cautious about," I replied with a casual wave. "I will not do anything to displease Onii-sama."
He still looked wary, but he answered nonetheless, clearly aware that I would threaten him again if he refused.
"Well, yeah... technically," he admitted, slurping some ramen. "If ordinary people come into contact with something dense in Kami particles, they’ll almost always die. But if that person happens to understand the way the energy flows inside them, they could potentially become awakened. Even so, the odds are low. And the person would need to possess an unnatural level of concentration and determination."
A wide smile forced itself on my face.
"Thank you, Ferry." I rose from the bed. "I have already gotten all the answers I needed."
"Najimi, I’m warning you," Ferry said with narrowed eyes. "Don’t try anything reckless. It could blow up in your face... and Ken would be sad."
