King's Rule: Creating the Strongest Kingdom With My Broken Talent-Chapter 7: What The...
After walking for a kilometer, Vesh headed towards high ground, going to a mountain base.
But the forest was a bit thick in the middle, which he guessed was roughly a kilometer.
He tested if he could move faster during this process, and he indeed could. He could enforce his will to change his actions as long as they didn’t break the rule, and instead worked on enforcing it.
Heading faster towards his destination was enforcing that rule.
But he slowed down real quick because he didn’t want to waste his stamina like that.
’Stamina and Mana are both determined by my Seed Force, the core of my lifeform. My body also feels stronger than yesterday.’ Vesh was curious.
He was curious whether training in the sword increased his Seed Force somehow, but he didn’t want to waste a system question by asking that.
He also wanted to test the limit of what kind of question could be answered.
But for now, he focused on moving and being alert to his surroundings.
Rustles!
Suddenly, a snake jumped at him from the bush nearby. It was fast!
Its fangs coated with poison glistened in the fractured sunlight as it went straight for Vesh’s face.
But his hand moved swiftly like a gust of wind.
Slash!
And separated the snake’s head from its body.
[You have killed a D-rank Ivybush Snake. +1 Seed Force]
Vesh was surprised. ’We can get seed force by killing ranked beings? Nice.’
And he was surprised about one more thing. Just now, he didn’t move out of his own will. His body moved on its own!
’So if it’s a threat I can handle, I will handle it automatically if it’s in the way of processing the king’s rule?’ Vesh was thrilled. ’That’s awesome.’
’But I also want to fight on my own, so I have to focus.’
Vesh enforced his will to pick up the snake’s body and put it in his Inventory before he continued on his journey.
He didn’t know the use of the snake’s body parts, especially the venom, but Rovina might be able to research it.
If possible, he wanted to gather any useful stuff that could be helpful in fighting the strange illness suffered by Wihawk and his people.
The Alchemist talent stone could be very useful. Not for him, but for someone else.
’I can probably gain Alchemist talent using my King’s Rule. But I have to narrow my focus on certain things to progress faster and leave other possible stuff to my people.’
Vesh knew that a kingdom wasn’t built alone. It was built on the back of its citizens.
’My role is to guide them and lead them to a better future.’ Vesh grinned. ’And I shall do just that.’
Vesh was glad to have had a chance in this new life, and he was determined to make the most of it!
After walking for roughly 500 meters, Vesh encountered another problem.
A big trouble.
"Grrr...."
There it was. A bear with a wooden-earth plated back that grew leaves and flowers, dangling from a tree branch, one claw hooked into the bark while the other dipped greedily into a swollen hive dripping with honey.
The honeybees hummed around, but their stings were useless against this D-rank beast.
[Forest Rock Bear]
[Rank: D | Seed Force: 1130]
[Combat Power: 4191]
’Uhh...’ Vesh froze, physically.
[King’s Rule is broken.]
The bear moved its head and looked at Vesh, its honey-dipped claw also froze in the air.
’Fuck.’
Vesh willed himself to continue moving. Not forward, but backward.
The Bear kept staring at him. Its claw moved, and it licked the honey, its intense eyes still glued on him.
Vesh also kept staring back at the Bear even as he moved back, his sword raised.
Despite creating distance, Vesh kept eye contact with the Bear to keep this stalemate.
’Fuck. I can’t run. I will surely get outrun by it if decides to chase me.’ Vesh was sweating buckets as he gradually moved back.
’Is Combat Power displayed as a reliable measurement, or is there a way to overcome the difference between combat power with skills? Surely, Rovina and Arga can defeat the bear. Even Kayan too.’
Vesh wondered. Those three had elemental masteries, and by using their elements in a technical way, they should be able to defeat this bear.
’But I want to defeat it too.’ Vesh clenched his fist.
As soon as Vesh was out of the bear’s sight, he made a beeline back to the territory.
"You returned early, young master?" Arga chuckled. "You appear to be tired."
Vesh wryly smiled. "I encountered a Forest Rock Bear, and I believe it would’ve killed me pretty easily had I not escaped slowly while staring back at it with a raised sword to make myself appear tough." 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
"Haha, that’s lucky for you. But don’t go alone next time until you are strong enough."
"Yep. I’m going to get strong. Right now. Since Rovina hadn’t returned yet, how about we spar?" Vesh glanced at Arga’s work field, where he was making stuff.
"Alright. I’ll be done in ten minutes, so we’ll spar after that."
"Perfect. I’ll also train myself a bit."
Vesh walked away to a more spacious area and sat down cross-legged.
’Time to test this.’
He made a King’s Rule.
’King’s Rule. Increase my Seed Force during the next 10 minutes. If the process threatens my life, stop it.’
[King’s Rule Created]
[Difficulty: D-rank.]
’D-rank? So it’s not hard?’
Vesh blinked. ’It begins.’
Nothing happened, but he wasn’t able to move anymore.
But after a few seconds, he began hearing a low hum.
Vesh focused on the hum, resulting in a scene in his mind. His life nexus and the seed.
The hum was coming from the mana surrounding the seed.
The mana was behaving in a certain way, creating patterns and vibrations.
’I am automatically controlling my mana in this way...But I have to learn it myself.’
Vesh focused and soon found that his mind was controlling the mana to produce this hum.
But it was surprisingly difficult.
When he tried to imitate it, he messed it up and the hum stopped briefly before starting again.
’I should just focus and learn for now instead of interfering.’
Vesh wanted to see if his Seed Force would really increase this way when the voice told him he would need D-rank or higher resources to increase his Seed Force.
Five minutes of focus later, Vesh suddenly saw golden motes entering his body from the atmosphere, from the ground.
’This...looks like Mana.’ Vesh was surprised. ’But it’s not Mana. It’s way more pure and magical.’
[+1 Seed Force]
[+2 Seed Force]
[+1 Seed Force]
[+2 Seed Force]
Vesh was shocked.
He was getting Seed Force!
[Congratulations. You have awakened a talent—Arcane Cultivation | D-rank | 5✧/5✧]
’What the...’
