Last Wizard King's SSS-Level Magic system in Modern World-Chapter 118: Spread my name- Part 1
Chapter 118: 118: Spread my name- Part 1
Once she was out of Liam’s sight, Richa clenched her fists.
She was bound by a contract, but that didn’t mean she wouldn’t fight back in her own way.
’Who the hell is Nico Vale? And why does he not want me to look into it?’
She had spent years navigating the underworld, and she had a sharp instinct for lies and deception. Something about Liam’s request did not sit well with her.
And so, while she planned to do what the contract demanded, she also vowed to dig deeper.
Until she could find a way to break this contract, she would do her best in her current role. That much, at least, was something she could control.
After gathering her subordinates, she explained the situation.
"Listen up. I have been placed under a contract with that guy, and I have to follow his orders. However, none of you are bound by it. You are all free to go."
Richa said, her voice firm.
A few of them hesitated before stepping away, deciding to part ways with her.
Richa wasn’t surprised. They were in this line of work for their own benefit, and they had no reason to stay under someone else’s control.
But what surprised her was that the majority of her people stayed.
"Are you guys sure about this?"
She asked, unable to keep the emotion out of her voice.
One of the older members of her crew, a man named Lark, grinned at her.
"We’ve followed you for years, Richa. We know you’re smart enough to turn this situation around. Besides, you’re the best leader we’ve had. Why would we abandon you now?"
Another woman, Elira, shrugged.
"We’ve built something here, Richa. If we leave, we’re starting from scratch. If we stay, we can make sure you’re not dealing with this alone."
The warmth in their words struck Richa in a way she hadn’t expected. She had never thought of herself as the type of leader who inspired loyalty beyond necessity.
Yet here they were, standing beside her even when they had the chance to walk away.
She took a deep breath before nodding.
"Alright then. If you’re staying, we do this properly. I’ll take charge, and we’ll turn this situation into something that works in our favor."
The group let out a cheer, and for the first time in a while, Richa felt truly determined.

Meanwhile, Liam moved through the dungeon with Asger perched on his shoulder, grumbling.
"You let her go too easily. I don’t like it. She should’ve paid a higher price for what she tried to do"
The half-dragon huffed.
Liam smirked.
"She’ll pay in a different way. I just made sure her skills are being put to use for me instead of against me."
Asger snorted.
"Tch. You’re too trusting."
Liam chuckled.
"Not trusting. Calculating. I have taken precautions against being betrayed. I won’t be caught off-guard this time."
The two made their way out of the dungeon. Liam had gotten what he needed—experience, combat practice, and a new asset in Richa.
It wasn’t a perfect situation, but he knew better than to expect perfection in this world.
Instead, he was satisfied with progress.
His strength was growing. His plans were coming together. And soon, he would be in a position where no one could ignore him.
As they exited the dungeon, Liam pulled out his student ID, handing it over to the staff at the entrance.
The worker glanced at him warily before returning it.
"You made it out in one piece, huh?"
Liam smirked.
"Of course. Was there ever a doubt?"
The worker sighed.
"Just be careful next time. A B-class dungeon isn’t a joke."
Liam nodded and walked past, leaving the staff member shaking his head.
"That’s a given. Hey Asger, do you think that bastard knew all about this before he sent us in here? I bet Victor knew this was going to happen. Ugh, just thinking about it makes me want to kill him."
Liam complained as he took care of a few more monsters. His words made Asger scoff.
"Of course that human knew. He was just playing with us...on your right...but what do you want to do now? Will you go and confront him about it? I will bite him if you do."
Asger promised with an almost happy smile on his face, but Liam just shook his head.
"Not right now. Let’s level up a little more before we go after him. I don’t want to get hurt because I was not prepared to face my opponent."
Liam sighed as he spoke. He had made up his mind regarding his situation and found that it was not that bad...for now.
______
Over the next few days, rumors started spreading in the underworld.
A new name had surfaced—Nico Vale.
Some said he was a rising figure in the underground, gathering power quickly. Others believed he was merely a front for someone else, a ghost with no face.
Richa worked quickly, setting up a network under this alias, feeding information back to Liam while discreetly looking for ways to escape her contract.
She moved carefully, making sure to gather only trusted individuals into the network. The last thing she wanted was for her new boss to sniff out her true intentions.
But as time passed, Richa realized something unsettling.
The more she tried to dig into Nico Vale’s identity, the more she found nothing. It was as if the name had no origin, no past—just a shadow that had suddenly appeared out of nowhere.
And that terrified her more than anything else.
Because if Liam had gone through the trouble of creating a fake identity with such precision, then it meant he had far bigger plans than she had originally thought.
Plans she was now unknowingly a part of.
Richa clenched her fists.
’I have to figure out a way to escape before it’s too late.’
But deep down, she had a sinking feeling that it was already too late. She was already getting comfortable at her new position.
