Chapter 55: Aim Higher!

"This is quite the opposite of what we thought would happen." Calous had a puzzled look on his face. "I knew that the kings shouldn’t have sent their champion, but for him to take down the champion of fire and also take him as his knight! Do you know what this means, Cerion?!"

Cerion, lying down, had a faint smile on his face; he didn’t care what was going on.

"They have always been like this, they would rush head first and then boom- they would regret why they did it. If that mortal keeps growing, it will be funny to see the divine panic." Cerion chirped in. he looked at Calous and smiled. "Besides, we have been holding the gate for long. Those things want to come through, you know and if they do it will be the end for the mortal anyways."

Calous smiled, he knew very well what was going to be happening and how it was going to be affecting everything around them.

"The divine would always want to make sure that mortals would remain where they are and then they would lose themselves doing anything would be seen as the true form of order and nothing else will matter unless it is their decree." Calous’s voice was filled with what felt like disappointment, almost like he resented his kind.

Cerion rolled his eyes; his brother’s words were not always clear, and he would not even understand what he meant. "Here you go with your divine order speech, I still don’t know why you would want to hate your own people."

Calous turned to look at him. He pointed at him with the same empty smile on his face. "They are trying to kill something that they can’t, they attempt to kill something that is the pinnacle of what they seek. They are trying to kill chaos when the true form of order is Chaos."

"You know, one day I will understand, but I hope I won’t be dead," Cerion said, looking at his hand. A nasty grin appeared. "Soon, we will have to let them out, willn’t we?"

He looked up to look at his brother, Callus was not saying anything but hovering around with a smile.

He threw his hands up as he yelled, "Soon, the age of chaos will begin!"

Darius can be seen walking around in a dimension covered in the color white. He is puzzled, not knowing where he was or what he was doing there or, more importantly, how he got there.

"Where in the world am I?" He looked around, seeing nothing but white all through. Darius paused for a moment, turning back to see if he would see anything that would help him mark where he was.

"I have been walking in damn circles!" He cursed under his breath; the entire place was frustrating. "Azree?"

Darius called out, but there was no response from Azree. It seemed even more suspicious than before.

"I can’t even hear Azree’s voice!" The young warrior began to worry. "So it means I died! Ahhh, I am dead, and this is what I get for an afterlife? An endless space of nithing but the color white! I am going to go crazy seeing nothing but this damn color!"

"You are far from dead, child."

Darius froze when he heard the voice. He was not sure if he had heard correctly, but then he was sure it wasn’t Azree. The voice was deeper, calmer but at the same time terrifying.

He slowly turned to see a man standing behind him, The man had a black robe on, dressed like one of the ancient warriors Darius would see in movies. His hair was the same ashbone color Darius had.

"Who are you? And how do you know I am not dead?! Wait, I know who you are! You’re the damn Grim Reaper. You’re here to pass judgment, but I didn’t do anything wrong. I have always been a good guy. I had no friends and was always lonely, so I didn’t do anything wrong!" Darius looked at the man, his legs shaking as he was not ready to die.

His words gained a chuckle from the man. He had a calm laugh, but then Darius noticed something. He couldn’t see the man’s face, he only heard his voice and he could only see his robes.

"You are not dying, and I am not the Grim Reaper." The man came closer to Darius, revealing that he was over seven feet tall. "You know who I am, but then you don’t know it’s me."

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" Darius was not getting what the man meant when he said that.

The man leaned over to look at Darius; still, the young warrior couldn’t see his face. Even close up, it was blurred out. Darius, puzzled, wanted to know who the man was.

"Why can’t I see your face? Who are you?" He asked. He knew it wasn’t Azree. He had seen Azree before, and he could never mistake his voice.

"When the time is right, you will see my face, but for now, I want to leave you with this..." The man raised his hand and placed it on Darius’s head.

"I knew you wanted to take me somewhere so you would be able to kill me! I don’t want to die yet!" Darius yelled as he tried to break free from the man’s hand.

"You’re quite the handful. I’m surprised Azree can keep up with you." The man said, trying to keep Darius at a place. Darius paused when he heard the man call Azree.

He looked at him, he was not sure if it was what he heard. He stopped. "How do you know, Azree?"

The man chuckled a bit, his hands still on Darius’s head. "Why won’t I know him? He is a dear friend of mine too."

"Wait, what? Who are you, and what are you doing?" Darius was still not sure what the man was trying to do.

The man ruffled Darius’s hair, he was looking at the young warrior.

"I will leave you with this, Darius. Don’t you ever change who you are. Keep aiming higher, and you will be just fine," The man said. He stood back up. "Now, why don’t you wake up?"

"Wait, who are you, and how do you know Azree?" Darius was looking at the man. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢

The man was looking at Darius, he then poked his head with his finger. "The answers will come when the time is right."

Suddenly, Darius felt something pull him away from the man. With a thud, he opened his eyes to see that he was no longer in the realm but in a hospital bed.

Confused about what just happened, he didn’t know what he would call it. Scratching his head, he could only wonder.

’Who was that man?’
