Chapter 71: CELEBRATION!!

By the time Kael and his company reached the Great Storm Tree, it was already dark, and aside from the moon hanging above them, there wasn’t any other source of illumination.

But none of them really cared about it, as they were used to darkness and could see at night as if it were day.

Kael stared at the giant tree before him and said, "I’m too exhausted from this week-long trip, so we’ll start our work from tomorrow. You all should also rest today too."

His orders were met with sighs of relief, as everyone really needed some rest.

"But before that, we need to have a victory feast," Kael flashed a grin, spreading his arms and said, "We are all D-Rank and also have a Labyrinth under us. This is the official start of our Nation, so of course, we need some celebration."

Then, he pointed at Rias, who was silently standing at the side, and said, "And we also need to welcome a new member of our Nation. She’s the Guardian of our Nation."

"Yess!!" Jon lifted his paw and roared to the heavens. Even Seth joined in his joy and roared, which resounded in a large area around them.

Animals quickly went on alert and ran off, while the insects and bugs crawled back into the ground. The two mighty lions were terrifying in appearance, and their roars suited their humongous size.

Kiona wanted to scold her younger brothers for causing such a commotion, but let it go considering the situation. She just smiled and shook her head, thinking, ’Father, are you looking at them? They’re so happy.’

She touched her heart and raised her gaze to look at Kael, who was laughing beside Jon and even joined in the fun. Her smile turned wider as she thought, ’And I’m happy too.’

Kael slapped the back of Jon and chuckled, "I want a feast, buddy, and you just scared off all the animals. Now, should we eat you in their place?"

"Master, please don’t joke like that. I really don’t taste good," Jon grumbled, itching to jump away from Kael. "Can’t we just eat some beasts?"

Kael shook his head and said, "Nope! We aren’t hunting beasts, not for now at least. Animals will do for now."

Jon grunted in disappointment but didn’t object. He just nudged his brother, telling him to assist in his hunt. Then, he turned towards Kael and said, "Don’t worry, Master. I’ll bring back enough to last us for days."

"Just bring us enough for today," Kael slapped his robust back once again.

Just as the twins were about to move out, Kael remembered something and shouted, "Wait! Where’s that relic?"

Seth stopped and answered, "It’s still hidden in my mane, Master."

"Gimme that," Kael went towards them and retrieved the Hand of Nyraxx from his mane. It was still wrapped around in a Wall of Mana, which kept them safe from its negative effects.

He brought the relic back to Rias and asked, "Do you find this familiar?"

Rias stared at the Hand of Nyraxx for a while before saying in a calm voice, "No, but it is very dangerous. I can sense its connection leading somewhere high in the Astral World."

’It’s probably that guy of Cathedral,’ Kael confirmed his guess and once again sealed off the relic.

He had already decided to return it to the Nyraxx whenever he got the chance, as it was way too dangerous to be left with them.

Who knew if that entity would one day send some powerful attacks at them by sensing the location of that relic?

It was unlikely to happen, but it was better to prepare for it.

Then, he dug a small hole near the base of the Great Storm Tree, placed the relic in it, and once again covered it up. The tree was very dangerous too—it was definitely the best place to keep this dangerous relic.

’Just don’t make some mutations, buddy.’

Then, the three of them engaged in a casual conversation. Kael was already quite good at communicating with others, or at least that’s what he believed, and the fierce lioness had also opened up to him.

They found relaxation in each other’s presence, making the atmosphere cozy and wholesome, filled with laughter.

The only exception was Rias, who was a woman of few words when she was placed in conversations like these. She felt out of place due to her inability to properly converse with others, which was most likely due to her lack of memories.

Many of the topics that the two of them discussed were things that this Demi-God hadn’t even heard of.

Kael wondered if this was how his parents felt when he discussed everything about AI and stuff with his brother. After all, they came from a rural place and didn’t quite understand everything they talked about.

Of course, the two of them made sure Rias didn’t feel like that and tried their best to include her in their conversation.

Kael could see that Kiona was slightly on edge in Rias’s presence, as if she were her natural enemy. Yet, she also assisted her to the best of her capabilities.

During their conversation, they also learned quite a lot about this strange woman and how her memory loss worked.

It all started with a silly question from Kael.

"How do you remember the languages and all when you clearly have lost the memories?"

It was a silly question because Kael asked this due to movies where people were shown to have forgotten everything, yet they remembered how to talk perfectly.

Heck, they even remembered the same language they used to speak. It never happened that an American guy who suddenly lost all of his memories would begin to speak Mandarin.

As lazy as he was, Kael had never properly searched it on the internet, so the answer to this question still remained unclear to him.

[Master...]

Rias tilted her head to the side, puzzled by his question. Then, she answered calmly, "I don’t forget everything. I only forget the events of my life and some other stuff, but I do remember most of the other things like knowledge about my powers or the world. That’s how I use the Astral World to travel in the first place."

’So the seal left a leeway so that she could survive... it doesn’t seem like an enemy who did this to her. Or maybe she’s the one who resisted it?’
