As he had with every other building constructed in the last few weeks, Aoni immediately set to work once the node construction was finished.

Reinforcing walls, adding furniture, and furry rugs because, of course, Glacia demanded to have a few here and there and set up the complicated plumbing system.

That was honestly the hardest thing he'd done to date. While the Basic Lord's mansion had pipes and such preinstalled, that didn't mean he could magically flush the toilets or run a bath; nope, that required quite a bit of work to achieve.

Thankfully, this had all been foreseen by his Dad, who packed in plenty of Array nodes for such cases, so by the time he called it a day, Aoni and his summons had a fully functional home that was a million times better than the small Cave they had been using for almost 2 months.

{'Brodder bedtime hwere?'}

Happily rolling around on the king-sized bachelor-style bed (no frame, just a good ol boxspring and mattress), Glacia asked without stopping her little game.

"Mm, not tonight, but starting tomorrow, that's the plan, so when we leave the Cave in the morning, don't forget to pack your beds because we gotta bring them over with us." Sitting on the edge of the bed and watching her flap about imitating Nyria flying, Aoni said with a soft smile.

At first, he'd wanted them to have their own bedrooms up here on the first floor, but after some thought, and a hissy fit from both the birb and floof, it was decided that they would take up residence in the master bedroom.

After all, it was pretty much the third largest room in the manor beside the dining hall and parlor.

To accommodate them, Aoni'd gone so far as to hang up little signs with their paw/beak drawn names and make cubicle-like spaces on the right side of the room, utilizing the far wall and creating what could honestly be described as pens.

Two wooden walls with a small roof over the top were built into the bedroom wall, giving them some privacy but at the same time large enough to be considered micro bedrooms for the two.

Aoni even went so far as to make windows in their spaces so that they would have a nice lake view whenever they wanted.

There was no door so it basically faced his bed, but that was how they wanted it, because that way, it felt like they were all sleeping together like they used to.

Either way, Aoni didn't mind, especially since Nyria had already begun decorating her micro-room with trinkets.

---

Before leaving and heading back up for the night, Aoni cooked up a meal in his new kitchen and had dinner with his summons, then returned to the surface, but not before dropping a massive boulder in front of the Cavern entrance as he'd been doing for the last two weeks.

Ever since the little wolf incident, he'd been shutting it off in this way to keep out any intruders. Since it was only a temporary measure, and he had no intention of building a gate, Aoni would just keep a giant rock in one of the storage chests held in his inventory.

---

The next morning gave Aoni quite a shock because instead of being the last awake, he was actually the first.

Usually, either Glacia would pounce on him, demanding to be fed, or Nyria would gently nudge him till he awoke; however, today, as if their bodies understood it was the last sleep in their original home, neither of his Summons stirred and slept in relatively late.

'I'll just let them sleep for now; I've already changed the layout of the cave in order to prepare it to be a transit station between the Village and fort, so all that was left here are the beds and the Flume.' Quietly getting out of bed, sneaking past the snoring Glacia, and resisting the urge to pet Nyria's head since she always slept so adorably, Aoni stored away the rickety old bed, removing his final piece of original furniture from his starting point.

All the walls separating the Cave into rooms had been removed, and now, well, it was basically just a large cave with wooden walls, flooring, and a ceiling. The only thing left was his Flume, and once that and the girls' beds were moved, this space would serve a singular purpose: being a transfer zone.

Since the Teleportation Array would cover the entire floor plan of the Cave, it needed to be clear of any obstacles, or else there was a strong possibility that something dangerous, such as phasing into a table or losing body parts, in the transfer would occur. It was because of this reason that he'd even set up a wide open space in the Upper Ring as the secondary transfer point.

Funny enough, one of the few things Jason had warned Aoni about was to keep the transfer points a good distance away from his Flume. Although several protocols came standard for these kinds of arrays, and Aoni could basically control who came and went, that didn't mean an intruder couldn't use it as a means of infiltration into his village, as such, keeping it away from his Flume was paramount to survival.

Standing at the front of the Cave, with the door to his back, the Lad couldn't help but feel a bit emotional as the mental image of what he'd originally intended this place to be was replaced with what it had become.

To him, it almost felt like he'd spent his whole childhood here and was now moving as a teenager, and while it had only been a couple of months, that didn't make this move any less impactful.

'Sigh, I'm like this, but those two aren't even sad to be moving; maybe I'm just more sentimental than they are,' Aoni mused, sounding like an old man rather than the 16-year-old youth he was.

'Woah, didn't expect you to comment on that one; yeah, you're probably right.' Giving a wistful smile toward his Attribute Notice, Aoni turned around and headed out of the Cave to take care of the morning Monster tide, alone, not that it would be much of a challenge.
