Roy took a deep breath, preparing his next words carefully, "I understand your protocols, and I appreciate your honesty. I hope that we of the Far West can establish a mutually beneficial relationship with your Void empire."

The fight with Chaos wasn't easy, to begin with, and there was also the shadow of death in the background.

Pulling the void into the battlefield might very well increase the human race's chance of victory.

They needed this partnership!

The Obsidian Overlord nodded. "I see potential in our partnership as well. Let us seal this agreement with a contract."

He pulled out a parchment scroll from his sleeve and unfurled it, revealing intricate writing in an ancient language. With a flick of his finger, the words began to glow and shift into a language that Roy could read.

"This contract binds us together in a partnership," the overlord explained. "We agree to provide aid to each other when necessary and to engage in an honorable trade of resources and knowledge once the link is established. You can choose to get an advance payment if you like. Do you agree to these terms?"

Roy carefully read through the contract.

The first clause was that he would become their representative in the Far West Major Realm if he succeeded in killing Voss and helping the Obsidian Overlord usurp the Ashen Land.

He needed to do it anyway, as Voss was his enemy, and there was a far greater threat in Ashen Land that was pinning for him.

He had seen the maniacal craze in its eyes as it thirsted after him.

He knew for sure that that feminine monster would do the "unthinkable" to him if he ever fell into its hands.

"I agree," he said, taking the pen and signing his name on the bottom of the scroll. The contact was fair and just, just to his liking.

The Obsidian Overlord did the same, and as he signed, the ink glowed and sealed itself onto the parchment, making the contract official.

"Excellent," the overlord said, handing the contract to Roy.

"I would like to receive a payment in advance," Roy said.

The Obsidian Overlord then gave Roy an early payment, which included an offensive mental energy technique, a pill that would help him easily open his sea of consciousness, and a Void Shift Array that would teleport him to safety if he ever encountered the mysterious entity again.

"I look forward to a prosperous partnership."

Roy smiled and bowed respectfully. "As do I."

"I hope you will keep your end of the bargain. We of the void do not like being lied to."

"You won't be disappointed," Roy said with a smile.

"Goodbye." The Obsidian Overlord said before he vanished in a puff of smoke.

And with that, Roy parted ways with him.

He felt happy as he unexpectedly found a potential ally in the vast expanse of the universe!

Roy soared on his sword towards the Fragmented World. Although the Ashen Land was expansive, he had no trouble reaching it since he was its rightful owner and could sense its whereabouts.

It should be noted that while he had journeyed through the Southern region, he had faced no hexes because they were primarily located on the Northern side of the Ashen Land.

He landed before the fragmented world and stretched his arm forward.

The most surprising thing happened as the entire goblin's lair shrank to the size of a tiny ball and fell into his palm. It had grown small, but the miniature world within it remained the same and was habitable. It was a sanctuary for Delilah and Shadowless, and he intended to keep them there until they were out of the Ashen Land.

Roy stowed the fragmented world in the goblin-shaped tattoo on the back of his hand and darted out of the Ashen Land through the same hole in the holy barrier that he had used to get in.

Within a matter of minutes, he was back in the village, and only then did he let Delilah and Shadowless out.

"Thank God you are safe."

Upon seeing him, Delilah immediately hugged him. Her embrace was warm and comforting, a respite he much needed after the long and grueling battle.

Roy closed his eyes, taking in the familiar scent of her hair and feeling a sense of relief wash over him.

He reciprocated the hug, tightening his arms around her as if he never wanted to let go.

Cough!

Their intimate moment was interrupted by a sudden cough from someone nearby. They both turned to see their companions approaching them, looking concerned and relieved at the same time.

"Where have you guys been?! We've been searching for you for three days!" Damien exclaimed, his voice full of relief and annoyance.

Everyone had worriedly searched for them for three whole days!

Roy's eyes widened in shock at his words.

"Three days? It can't be. I was keeping track of time the entire time I was in Ashen Land. I thought only a single night had passed."

It totally slipped his mind that time in Ashen Land followed at a different rate than the far west continent!

The group's jaws dropped collectively, amazed and incredulous at Roy's words. What did they just hear?!

"You went into Ashen Land?" they exclaimed in unison.

Roy bobbed his head up and down, "Yes, and it was just as bad as the rumors had suggested!"

"Why the hell did you go there?" Damien asked angrily.

Roy took a deep breath and steadied himself before replying. "To get something really important," he said, trying to keep his voice calm.

"What could be more important than your life?" Damien questioned.

Roy hesitated for a moment before speaking again. "It was something I needed to protect my family and my home."

Damien looked at him skeptically.

"Hit me with all your strength," Roy said suddenly, holding out his arms.

"I won't hold back! You made us worried for three whole days," Damien said, his eyes narrowing as he unleashed a burst of invisible aura towards Roy.
