Leveling Technology To Save Humanity-Chapter 52: New Home
Chapter 52: New Home
She was not happy!
Dragging the lighter suitcase along, she glared at her husband. "I don’t get it. Why can’t Mintz and I stay back while you first get out there?"
Motzen shook his head awkwardly. "They encouraged moving with family since the world will be too hectic."
All his friends have told him the place wasn’t as bad as everyone makes it out to be. Although Motzen was skeptical, he couldn’t deny the benefits the salary and the job offers.
As for his 6-year-old son Mintz, they said the village was about to open a school there for children his age, paid for by the Company.
How good can a school in a village be?... If they had someone they trusted here, they would send their son to live with the person while they first go to check things out.
Little Mintz didn’t seem phased by their family’s big move. Yesterday, he spent time with his classmates, excited for what adventures awaited him.
What does a 6 year old know? He couldn’t understand the true worries of his parents.
"Daddy, this candy is so sweet."
"Yeah," Motzen rubbed his son’s head, feeling pity for him.
"Tilly, I promise that after going there, if there’s no need for you two to be there, 9 will fight my way to send you both back."
{ Tilly was the cute pet name he gave his wife Matilda. Others called her Tilda instead. }
Motzen was helpless. His wife, although angry, also understood her husband’s situation. She could only blame that bastard company for telling its employees to bring their families over upon hiring.
It didn’t say much about the deadline for wives... but stated that it was mandatory for children to move in as soon as possible. After all, some people’s partners were working on their hometowns and cities.
It was a strange request, but due to the high salaries, the temptation still lingered in the minds of many.
Soon, the family of 3 were on the road, driving for Geldhan village. After branching off the highway, they noticed road construction being done.
It seems that development might truly come this way in the future. This was a good sign.
Oops, they spoke too soon.
Brang-grang-grang~
The entire vehicle was shaking from impact against the many bumps, pits, and potholes on the road. By the time they actually reached the village, they looked like they ran a marathon.
Only Mintz was clapping merrily, having enjoyed the free amusement park ride. "Again, again..."
Motzen and Matilda had no words to say. But soon, their initial thoughts were wiped off when seeing the high level of security within the village.
What’s going on? Are you sure they didn’t come to a Hidden Fortress instead?
Look left, look right, there was construction happening everywhere.
"Maybe this village will be a prime cornerstone in the future."
"...Yeah."
If it was before, Matilda would retort. But now her eyes couldn’t deceive her. From the big movements going on, she suddenly had the impulse to give this place a try.
They were already here, so why not stay for a few months with an open mind?
Feeling his wife’s hand grip his thigh, Motzen knew she wasn’t so angry anymore.
Women sure were strange creatures.
After almost several hours of unhappiness on the road, her attitude changed like spring, thawing away the icy grounds.
"Please, follow the main road till you see a Red building. Someone will be awaiting your arrival there."
It was already 6 PM. The guard was quite polite, after seeing their acceptance letter and cross checking it with the list of names he had. The guard was pointing towards a 4-story building ahead, boldly painted red for all to see.
Well then, what were they waiting for?
Soon, they met with a mature woman called Mina. She was Rufung’s wife, newly assigned to handle staff settlement.
"Mr. Motzen?"
"Yes, yes... that’s me. And this is my wife Dinna, and my son Mintz!"
After all formalities were done, Mina hopped into their vehicle and headed for one of the newly built apartment complexes.
"Mr. Motzen, you arrived quite late. Others have already begun work, but that’s alright. Your orientation will start tomorrow at 9 am."
Mina was inwardly thinking of the Press Conference coming up in 3 days. She has to make sure all staff are settled in before then.
"Mr. Motzen, tomorrow, our Founder and CEO will give gifts to all families and workers here." Mina paused, her aura changing slightly. "I don’t need to tell you that everything you learn here is classified."
"Any single leak will be seen as treacherous not just to the company, but to our Gwintia Country too... Understood?"
Motzen nodded vigorously. "Don’t worry, Mrs. Mina. We promise to keep everything we see and do at heart."
"Good..." Mina nodded in satisfaction. After her becoming a shareholder of the Agricultural company, she felt that anyone who says anything is messing with her family’s income.
Only when you receive the money in your account do you take it very seriously.
Bah!-
If anyone dares to leak anything, they might turn to o medieval people and Brun the person to a stake.
How dare you mess with their millions?
Even within this new company, they put in 500,000 Gwins for shares. That’s right, each share was now 500,000 Gwins.
Don’t you dare think you can mess up anything here.
After Mina left, the family of 3 took time to look at their simple yet stunning apartment. It had 2 bedrooms, 1 very large bathroom, a kitchen, a spacious balcony and a small pantry.
Mina had left them with 3 keys... probably one for each person.
So far, so good...
They were also amazed to see that the fridge was stuffed with complementary food items.
Eh? There was a small card too?

Hold on? Where has she heard this name before?
Yes, yes! It’s a company with magical food that doesn’t perish easily.
Their pantry was filled with these items... Have you ever seen a single potato the size of a TV?
