Chapter 66: True Purpose

"Please follow diligently," Katrina advised the subordinates behind Stein.

They left the immaculate room, and headed for a narrow box that looked like a picture booth.

A very realistic female hologram appeared, with cat ears and a snowy white tail. She was wearing a futuristic top and miniskirt, with planetary rings hovering around her top and skirt.

"Welcome, guests. I’m Jenna. You will soon walk through the booth to get your visitation, access cards. They will be valid for 1 day."

The holographic cat girl called Jenna, spoke very softly but audibly. "Before we begin, please say the random hourly passcode."

She was talking to Gort, as only he, right now, had the ability to grant guest passes. Stein looked at Gort, who was in turn looking at his smart watch.

{ 669-810-879-279-009. }

"Access Granted—Retina scan, password code, and Voice recognition approved." Jenna announced, no longer floating in front of Gort.

Soon, Stein found himself walking through the narrow boot-like box. And at the far end, an access card slowly appeared from a robotic hard.

"Please ensure that you wear your guest tag at all times once in restricted zones."

The restricted Zones?

Zmmmmm~

Two massive double-sided doors that looked like they were vault doors, now opened.

"Welcome, gentlemen... Welcome to GF Worldtech’s VR Production way.

Wow!

Everyone’s mouths opened and dropped, not being able to say a single word. Stein stood in awe within the production line, where reactive AI and holographic images seamlessly interacted.

"Smart Master, you must hurry up fast. Little Bella has to make sure you balance work and rest."

"Silly master, you’re doing it all wrong... You have to connect xxx to xx..."

On the shoulders, legs, heads and bodies of each employee, were small cute humanoid avatars that interacted with each employee. These avatars belonged to them, and were there solely for the purpose of work.

They were cute, smart, entertaining and helpful. Several employees rubbed the heads of these avatars who were so helpful.

"Well, thank you Bella. Daddy will reward you with an extra chicken leg for lunch."

Woo-hoo!

The cute elf-life avatar the size of a doll, was so happy that a ring of love hearts appeared above her head when hugging her master’s neck. Work now seemed the same as playing a video game.

Everyday, they have tasks assigned to them. And for each level of completion, they get certain Avatar points. With these points, they can upgrade their avatars, clothe and feed their avatars too.

"Well, my Bella is cuter than that annoying brat at home."

"That is, she reminds me to take a rest and rushes me to eat when I forget."

For workers like themselves, their avatars check their vitals at each time, reminding them to work safely and to eat properly and on time. But to be honest, they felt that ever since eating Cafeteria food, their bodies had grown incredibly strong like iron.

They could carry heavy things for hours without needing rest, and could also adapt to different standing and crouching positions they couldn’t before.

Some rode on electric scooters, others drove in golf-style karts, and several others walked in groups, wearing their lab coats.

It was incredible how vast and open spaces the place truly was...It almost gave off the feeling of walking into an airport or a high-end Research Center.

....

It was amazing how fast everything was built. But then again, they heard Gort hired 50 times the number of people required for such construction.

It was clear that he wanted everything built past. In the outskirts of the little Geldhan village, one could see tents of all sorts there, for the thousands and thousands of workers hired to do all sorts of construction in Geldhan.

Where was the fire?

????

From an observer’s eye, they were like ants building a colony, too many to count or stare at.

Stein and his people, sat in what looked like 5 Go-karts connected to each other. And as the Go-kart centipede took off slowly, they had to admit that the more they saw, the more envious they became.

Woooo~

They too wanted to work in such a fun environment. Of course, this thought was quickly brushed off, as they truly loved working with their current boss, Stein.

"Look over there!" Someone exclaimed, and everyone heard turned right.

Across from them was an enormous floor to ceiling glass wall that revealed several lab coats, scribbling things down within an isolated world that mimicked the moon.

They jumped, but didn’t fall down to the world’s standard gravitational pull.

What?

Were they floating?

Smack!

"Ouch, what the hell did you do that for?"

"My bad... wanted to know if I was dreaming or not."

"Then why didn’t you smack yourself?"

"Hey, do you think I’m stupid? Won’t it hurt?"

"_"

Stein’s pupils dilated at an alarming rate, despite his stoic expression. His mind was truly getting blown away the more he watched. At present, the Genesis watch can make you feel like you’re touching and feeling everything the VR shows you.

But that doesn’t mean it can suddenly change the gravity in the real world – Well, that was what he thought, until he spotted the research testing going on.

Already, he knew it must research for the 2nd Generation of the Genesis VR watch.

Sweet Mother of Pearl! How can such a SciFi-like technology exist in their world?

In many galactic movies, you see the humans wearing rings and even space suits that can mimic gravity, like an anti gravitational belt. But that was in movies!

If... if the world knew that Gort was already thinking in that direction, who would be able to stand still anymore? Will cars even ride on the grounds again?

Stein clenched his fists excitedly.

This was it... This was the Flying Car era he dreamed of as a boy! There was so much they had seen, in just very little time.

Another thing that blew their minds was the VR communications testing done in another larger chamber.

Did... did that VR watch just morph into a smartphone?... A cell phone?

This... this... this...

Everyone was breathing manually, finding that the enormous space was too small to contain them all.

GF Worldtech Communications...

That’s it!—The goal all along has always been COMMUNICATION!
