Leveling Technology To Save Humanity-Chapter 69: Enter: The Old Troublemaker!
Chapter 69: Enter: The Old Troublemaker!
Merta Fairbang...
Merta was born here, yet her eyes always seemed to be higher than the sky. She was lazy, rude and just plain shrewish. She detested working in the fields and even cooking, saying she was going to marry a rich city man who doesn’t need his wife to do all these things.
In the end, she fell into the water of an Educated youth who came here back in the days when the country was under Reformation.
The Educated Youth was the son of a wealthy man, and already had a Fiancé. But because he jumped in to rescue her, he had to eventually marry her since they had skin to skin contact.
Even the blind could tell that the Educated Youth had been set up by Merta. But what could they do? Merta’s family made a fuss, wanting to sue the Educated Youth for hooliganism.
Long story short, Merta married a rich city boy just as she always wanted. And even if the marriage wasn’t satisfactory, so what? She had money to keep her company and secret lovers to wet her appetite with.
Surprisingly, after Merta married in, she quickly threw away the family that fought to make her wish come true. It was amazing how she abandoned her own widowed mother and grandmother who supported her in making a fuss.
It’s true that none of these women were good people at the time, but what she did was too shocking.
She can be mean to everyone in the world, but not these 2 who have her the world.
After cutting ties with her family, she also swore that she would never set foot in this poverty stricken Geldhan village. She despised them, and even spread rumors in some interviews about how she was maltreated while in the village.
Shortly after that, her grandmother passed away from a broken heart, and her mother became humble, and truly changed for the better.
Granny Bimto, was what many now called her mother.
To the many generations of young people now, no one is kinder than Granny Bimto. She even took in an abandoned baby in the woods, training him as her own son.
This time, she taught the child right, and the boy now has good morals, and is working in GF WorldTech’s Agricultural branch.
Bray Fairbang was his name, one of Gort’s closest and youngest uncles. Bray Fairbang was 22 years old and unmarried... boy of course, not for long, with how many people keep coming to show interest in him, now that he is a son of a millionaire.
Bray took care of his mother, and even rejected the shares his mother wished to give him.
In his words, she had already taken him in and fed him all these years. Recalling all the sacrifices she made for him, an orphaned baby, over the years, he wished she used the money more on herself.
What’s more, his salary in GF WorldTech was quite high, and he was sure he would be able to save up a lot of money in no time.
Merta, Finch Sokka, one maid, and 2 bodyguards, were causing a ruckus all over the place. Hunteria looked at the troublemakers that appeared, sneering in disdain. "Merta, you haven’t changed one but."
Merta froze her gorilla-like actions, recognizing that voice and face. Even if they haven’t seen each other for decades, how could she not recognize Hunteria?
Hmph! She hastily adjusted her expensive pleated clothing, with an air of superiority.
"Good, it took you long enough!" She began. "Hunteria, you of all people know that I belong to this village. So can you tell these idiots to stand aside and open the gate?" freeweɓnovel.cøm
The gates in question were just simple barrier gates, 8 till gates in total. Now, the village’s main roads have been expanded and extended, forming 6 lanes—4 roads for going in, and 4 roads for exiting.
The Entrance roads and exiting roads were divided by a slightly elevated platform with flowers planted in it.
The road then widens a little, as one drives towards the many toll gates that raise high and low... 4 of these toll gates don’t need any control, as they open and close for staff and villagers of Geldhan. The other Lanes are typically for newcomers and visitors.
Don’t think that after passing the toll gates, one will arrive into the Geldhan village.
Nope.
Have you forgotten that the entirety of Geldhan village was on slightly elevated land?
One would have to drive on these roads for a bit before reaching the Geldhan Village’s true entrance. And around these parts, one could see many worker tents belonging to the construction workers, who were also putting up newly built apartments around these parts.
After all, you don’t expect them to live in tents for long, right?
The drive from the Toll gates to Geldhan Village’s main entrance was roughly 27 minutes. This place was like the outskirts area. And if Geldhan village was to ever have an airport of its own, it will probably be stationed here somewhere.
The place was also swarming with military and guards hell bent on protecting all perimeters and corners around Geldhan village.
Of course, tourists can also come in, but they will be given day and even week passes.
Once they make their intentions known, they’ll drive in and stop at a certain Blue building, where they have to register and get their passes done.
If they’re looking for housing accommodations, the only newly built hotel is a good place to start. Geldhan village also invested in a few shipping container homes, stacking a few of them to 3 stories high, and creating apartment paces in that manner.
But when one goes in, you would never believe it was a shipping container. The blend of AI technology and the elegant simplicity, was indeed marvelous. For now, these shipping containers will have to be done, while construction is underway.
What’s great is that when they need to move these shipping containers, all they’ll need to do is get Cranes to hurl them away.
Ah yes... Geldhan village looked nothing like it used to.
