Chapter 35: Chapter 34: Mind Your Language, Let’s Be Civil

As the saying goes, it’s easier to dodge a spear in the open than an arrow from the shadows.

Shawn Grant is like a snake lurking in the dark, ready to strike when you least expect it.

Whatever he’s planning, I’ve managed to steer clear.

But his schemes have targeted Seth, my only weakness.

South Grant harbored an idea, but no matter how much she thought about it, her mind remained conflicted.

She only fell asleep as the sky began to lighten.

The next morning, she was supposed to get up for school, but upon waking, she found Seth Grant had a fever.

His forehead was burning hot, and his body temperature was soaring.

South Grant felt a sinking feeling, recognizing it was caused by last night’s burn.

She couldn’t bother with the hospital then, carrying Seth Grant out of the room.

The car parked in the yard was being cleaned by the driver. Seeing this, South Grant didn’t care about anything else, placing Seth in the car while she took the driver’s seat and started the car.

"Young Master South, Third Master needs the car later..."

South Grant ignored the driver’s words, driving straight out of the yard.

The morning traffic was exceptionally congested, and South Grant wished she could grow wings and fly to the hospital.

The radio was reporting the traffic conditions in Aethelgard, and South Grant heard the roads near the city hospital were completely jammed.

Seeing the traffic lights ahead, South Grant decided to head to the military district hospital where traffic was lighter.

Upon reaching the hospital, South Grant rushed inside carrying Seth, not noticing Nathan Foster behind her.

Nathan Foster watched South Grant hurrying in and said to Ivan Keller behind him:

"Go check what’s going on."

"Yes."

Seth Grant’s fever was due to an infection from the burn, and the doctor gave him an injection that would bring the fever down soon.

For observation purposes, arrangements were made for Seth Grant to be hospitalized.

After waiting for Seth to stabilize and fall asleep in the ward, South Grant went to complete the admission procedures.

There were many people processing paperwork in the morning, and South Grant lined up.

There were quite a few people ahead of her, and many behind. Behind her was a woman holding a child, whose restless movements almost caused her to drop him.

South Grant helped catch them.

South Grant’s movement unintentionally brushed against the clothes of a woman in her thirties in front of her.

The woman turned around, seeing the young man, and rudely patted her skirt, cursing loudly:

"Stop shoving!"

South Grant was about to apologize, but those words stopped her. The apology died on her lips, replaced by her usual indifference.

"One, do you need it?" South Grant said in a cold tone.

The woman didn’t understand immediately, but a young man in another line laughed out loud.

The woman realized South Grant was mocking her!

Stop shoving...how many shoves...

The woman blushed angrily and cursed: "Do you even know what manners are? So young with such a filthy mouth, don’t you have any upbringing?"

South Grant looked at her, thinking she must have forgotten how she spoke earlier.

"Speak plainly, not crudely. Let’s all be civil, Auntie. You asked how many, so due to politeness, I must answer truthfully."

"..." The woman was left speechless by South Grant’s retort.

It was her turn to pay, and she turned in a huff to settle her bill, ignoring South Grant.

Nathan Foster came out of the VIP ward just in time to witness the scene.

His expression remained indifferent as he left the hospital, heading for the military district.
