Some of the railings of the deer pen were gnawed, but not badly damaged.
"Luckily there’s a fence, otherwise we’d have no milk to drink. Jin also said she wanted to taste the fresh milk," Lu Ke said with some relief, having shared many delicacies with Wang Jin, including Big White’s fresh milk.
"It shouldn’t be a large beast, and there aren’t many of them. Hopefully, they return once more," Xu Yi said as he opened the gate of the deer pen to feed the reindeer and Big White some tender grass.
Another visit would be delivering points.
While Xu Yi was feeding the reindeer and Big White, Lu Ke put the bear paws in to cook.
For lunch, the two had honey bear paws, a hearty meal.
After lunch, the two headed out again.
Having mounts made hunting trips more timely for returns to camp.
Half an hour out, Xu Yi and Lu Ke encountered a beast.
The beast was drinking water and didn’t notice Xu Yi and Lu Ke.
Or perhaps, it noticed but didn’t regard Xu Yi and Lu Ke as threats.
"Xu Yi, is it the one we doused with oil?" Lu Ke asked, looking at the massive figure.
"No, that one’s likely dead. Let’s dismount and see if we can take it down," Xu Yi said, directly dismounting and tying the reindeer.
Lu Ke tied Giha securely, as this battle wasn’t suitable for Giha. If injured, the loss would be greater.
Xu Yi also took off his Hunting Bow, as the bow posed little threat to such fierce beasts and was difficult to harm them. So, direct use of the machete and dagger was better.
"This beast is quite arrogant; we’re standing right opposite it, and it just snorts at us?" Xu Yi felt as if he were strolling in a zoo, gazing at the beast in front of him.
Because the fierce beast opposite was too docile, showing no aggression.
"Maybe it’s just had a feast," Lu Ke pointed to skeletal remains afar, with some meat still left on them.

Lu Ke also sprang forward, dagger in hand, slicing into the beast’s skin.
Then the beast turned to attack Lu Ke.
This gave Xu Yi the opportunity to strike, his machete connecting with the beast’s neck, opening a gash from which blood gushed forth.
The beast roared, pouncing at Xu Yi.
It was thoroughly enraged, sensing a lethal threat.
Initially, it truly hadn’t considered Xu Yi and Lu Ke a threat.
To its surprise, Xu Yi and Lu Ke easily inflicted harm.
"Careful, Xu Yi," Lu Ke shouted, sensing the threat.
Xu Yi swiftly dodged and retreated.
The beast stomped heavily, causing the ground to cave beneath it.
The destructive power was tremendously strong.
If Xu Yi unfortunately was crushed by it, his bones would shatter instantly.
Xu Yi had anticipated the tough battle, so wasn’t surprised by the situation. Taking advantage of its front hooves trapped in mud, he rolled beside it, slicing at one of its legs.
No matter the beast, losing one leg meant becoming a lamb to the slaughter.
That’s precisely why humans use traps, because they’re highly effective.
In the moment of slashing, Xu Yi charged outward.
Regardless of severing or not, he had to flee.
Otherwise, his throat would be torn apart.
After fleeing, Xu Yi glanced back.
The beast screamed, losing its balance, collapsing heavily on the ground.
Lu Ke, who was waiting for the right moment nearby, acted decisively with a clear target—the beast’s vulnerable spot.
With part of its tail sliced by Xu Yi, there was minimal threat now. Additionally, that spot is the softest, prone to injury. Hyenas prefer attacking other beasts’ anuses.
Lu Ke’s dagger pierced right into the beast’s anus, forcefully slicing downward.
The abdominal skin there is relatively soft too.
Lu Ke’s attack was potent, slicing open a 10-centimeter gash.
The beast shrieked, turning to bite Lu Ke.
But Lu Ke swiftly withdrew her dagger, retreating immediately without giving the beast any chances.
Providing it an opportune moment, Xu Yi swiftly attacked when the beast turned to bite Lu Ke, targeting the neck.
If he could slash the major artery, the beast would soon bleed to death.

Lu Ke heard Xu Yi’s call and quickly followed.
Upon arrival, Xu Yi had already untethered the reins of the reindeer and Giha.
As they mounted, a prompt came through.
"Slay an Ox-Lion, earn 18 points."
