Chapter 44: Battle in The Abandoned church. (2)

Anansi had woven a sphere of threads, which eliminated the history of whatever came into contact with it.

It was like inducing the end of history to whatever it interacted with.

However, even facing that monstrous attack, Epimetheus felt no fear.

He opted for the simplest and most logical solution, jump and escape the attack so it simply wouldn’t affect him.

However, the priest didn’t count on that being exactly what Anansi was looking for.

Immediately, the witch snapped her fingers making the sphere explode.

The thousands of threads that made up the sphere exploded, shooting out in hundreds of directions, extending thousands of "void cuts."

Epimetheus was surprised seeing that, he didn’t expect it, however he wasn’t going to stand still and simply take the attack head-on.

The man thought at great speed as the cuts approached.

First he thought about sending them to a parallel world, however this surely wouldn’t work since these cuts were capable of cutting the veil between worlds.

This meant they could pierce through the parallel world and reach him.

Epimetheus also knew that keter wasn’t effective against those cuts, and he also anticipated that he couldn’t regenerate his body from the wounds caused by those cuts.

By eliminating the history of a small area, he wasn’t just erasing a section of reality as if it were a cut, but also preventing the cut zone from being able to "advance in history."

A kind of irreparable zone was created, so there was only one possible solution.

In the little time he had left, Epimetheus gathered all the keter in the environment in his heart, while compressing his entire body into a sphere of flesh.

Part of his body was discarded while the man preserved the most important parts of his body in a simple sphere.

The crystallized keter around him was so dense that it had formed a supersolid structure around him in the form of a marble.

The sphere had enough space to dodge the large amount of cuts, and subsequently, decompress its entire body.

The man recovered his original form quickly, while regenerating missing parts.

At the same time as he did so, he fired multiple rays of concentrated keter that shot out toward Anansi from many directions.

The woman didn’t even flinch, the light rays suddenly deviated as if they were going through an invisible labyrinth and crashed against the ground far from her.

"It seems this is checkmate," she affirmed with an expressionless expression.

Saying those words she almost felt nostalgic, remembering the expression Prometheus used from time to time.

"Pfft, but what are you saying!!? The combat is just beginning!" the priest roared with a smile, as he expelled the keter from his interior again, however, something strange happened.

Multiple fine threads stuck to him from multiple directions, and the keter in his body dispersed.

The man’s movement was sealed, and he could finally realize his grave error.

He had the advantage having keter all over the terrain, however, when he concentrated all his keter back in his body, he lost control over the environment.

Anansi took advantage of that to have her threads over the scenario, taking ownership of the world’s history.

She had planned Epimetheus’s actions and how he would defend himself.

Knowing it, she took advantage of expelling so many threads across the scenario to take over the environment.

"Ha! That move was quite good," the man affirmed, as more threads trapped him, and he was carefully lowered to Anansi’s height.

The witch quickly retracted her arms, leaving only a pair, while one of her pupils returned to normal but another remained the same.

She kept active her mystic eye that allowed her to see others’ intentions, to be ready in case the priest did something.

"Well, it’s time for you to answer some questions," Anansi said seriously as she looked at the man coldly.

Epimetheus directed his eyes, black as two abysses, to the woman.

"Oh yes, surely you want to know what I was doing in this laboratory, am I wrong?" the man asked with a smile.

Anansi nodded, without losing her cold gaze.

Epimetheus smiled.

"Well, this specific one was made to create a vessel for the Ashura of tyranny," he said with a smile.

Anansi’s eyes opened wide.

"You what?" 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

However, Epimetheus didn’t hesitate to interrupt the witch.

"Yes! And I achieved it, don’t worry, in fact, right now one of my clones must be taking it to start the ritual," the man said with a mocking smile.

Anansi’s eyes narrowed, it was a serious matter, she couldn’t allow that to happen.

"Where?" the witch ordered to know.

Though Epimetheus didn’t seem altered at all.

"Mmm, I could tell you but, you know, you’d also have to know that I have another laboratory," the old man responded with a mischievous smile.

Anansi seemed annoyed, it was rare for something to alter her, but that man had that ability.

"Don’t make me waste time and answer my question," she said insistently.

The man’s smile grew bigger, wider, almost unnatural.

"Are you sure you don’t want to know? Because that information is related to your little puppy," he said mockingly.

Anansi felt her body paralyze, she knew exactly who that man was referring to.

Alioth.

"You, what do you know about Alioth?" she said, showing for the first time quite clear anger.

Epimetheus’s smile became even wider when he saw Anansi’s reaction.

"Ohhh well, not much, but I’ve received a message from my other laboratory, one of my clones is fighting with a kid without ka," he said amused, as if that were funny.

Anansi’s gaze became more severe.

"Where?" the woman demanded to know as she clenched her fists.

The man smiled.

"Do you really want to know? What a dilemma, you can only do one thing, either save your son or prevent an Ashura from returning, it’s up to you to decide," the man said with a mocking tone.

The woman looked at him with anger, but before she could demand more information, her body began to glow.

"You, damn bastard!" she shouted, as Epimetheus immolated his own body, releasing a bestial keter explosion.

Anansi acted quickly, she diverted the damage toward the foundations of the parallel world, so they would absorb the explosion.

The energy dissected itself sliding through the threads she had created.

However, such load wasn’t withstood, and the artificial reality ended up collapsing and crumbling like a crystal palace.

As the reality around her recovered its original form, Anansi watched the world crumble with seriousness.

She had returned to the church that had been there before, before it was destroyed, the original church.

The starlight illuminated the sky as she recovered her expressionless expression.

"Nana, Samedi, search for and protect Alioth," she said seriously as her pupils changed color. "I think I know which place I have to go to."

It was time to end everything.
