Chapter 170: Chapter 170 – Life of adventurers.

[Few days later.]

[Location: Adventurer guild.]

"...Okay. That confirms it." – said the female human adventurer guild staff as she finished checking out the body parts laying down on the counter.

"You have brough back the proofs of subjection for each quests... And I’ve recorded it." – said the guild staff member as she finished up writing down some documents before then taking out taking out several coins from a desk drawer and putting them right on the counter.

"Thank you." – said the older blond-haired man as he collected the payment.

"Huh. We did all of those quest way faster than we had thought." – said the bear beastwoman as she and her party started walking away from the counter, before then quickly taking one of the empty tables.

"Well, this isn’t the first time we fought pigmen. We even fought some soldiers pigmen as well as captain pigmen." – said the beast-human as he was checking his crossbow.

"Still, the fact that we had dealt with not only group, but multiple.... Yea, there must had found some sort of nest or maybe formed a settlement."

"At this rate, we may end up having to deal with multiple captains."

"Or even worse... If the general is born."

"Yea... This could be problematic indeed." – said the older blond-haired man as he was counting money and separating.

"..."

"Still, we are earning a good amount of money."

"Not only there is enough for all of us, but we easily covered up any expenses we did recently."

"Our equipment is still in good condition as well, so I don’t think we will have to pay any extra for the repairs."

"..."

"Should we take on the ogre extermination quest?" – asked bear beastwoman.

"Nah. Don’t even think about it." – said the youngest party member as he approached the table.

"I’ve checked the board, the ogre extermination quest is gone."

"It seems somebody may had dealt with it."

"Wait, really? When we were here two days ago, the quest was still here." – said surprised beast-human.

"Hey. You are free to go and take a look if you don’t trust me." – said the youngest member.

"Tch. Then is there any good paying job?" – asked the bear beastwoman.

"Considering how ’generous’ the empire is right now, any quest or bounties posted by them gives a shit tons of money."

"Yeb. And that is why everybody is hunting for them." – said the youngest party member.

"It seems everybody is snatching any empire related quest as soon as they pop up."

*Sigh*

"I guess if we were to try and get one, we would need to wait from the very morning."

"But I guess others will have the very same idea."

"In short. We give up."

"There is no point in-

"Wait." – said the beast-human, interrupting the youngest member, before then pointing at the male guild staff worker, carrying multiple quest post, before then starting to hang them up one by one, which instantly prompt the adventurers to quickly gather as the man wasn’t even finished with putting the quests on the board.

"?"

"What is this?" – asked the youngest party member as he noticed a quest that stood out amongst the all-other quest.

[Quest: Investigation]

[Danger Rank: Unknown – Predicted: D-B]

[A recent groups of adventurers (C rank party) have gone missing on the Mevon territory.]

[An investigation force was sent out to look for them, however, even they went missing. Both the first and second group has not left any traces whatsoever.]

[The original group of adventurers took on the quest regarding goblin extermination, a quest with D-C rank danger rank.]

[The group of C-rank adventurers that originally went missing were veteran adventurers and apparently tackled quest with difficulty level of C+]

[The investigation quest which was taken on previously by another C-rank party, had also went missing without leaving any form of trace.]

[It is suspected that the goblins may had formed some sort of settlement or base and the adventurers in question ended up running into it, alongside evolved goblin species.]

[Job: Investigation and try to find out where the missing adventurers are at or what could had happened to them. No need to bring monster subjection proof, only information about the situation.]

"Missing adventurers? And 2 C-rank parties on top of that?" – said the curios adventurer.

"Goblins... These little buggers can be annoying... Hell, I’ve even heard a story of them murdering some A-rank adventurers." – said nervous adventurer.

"Pfff! Yea right! Goblins are easy preys!" – said over confided adventurer.

"..."

(Mevon.... Why does this place sounds.... Familiar?) – thought the youngest member as he then quickly returned back to the table where his party was waiting for him.

"So.... Anything good?" – asked bear beastwoman.

"Mostly hunting quests. New waves of monsters have been spotted everywhere... However, there was also one quest that everybody has noticed."

"A investigation quest."

"Apparently, a party of C-rank adventurers went missing when they were hunting goblins."

"The next one was sent after them, C-rank party as well... But they also went missing."

"They are thinking that maybe a settlement was formed by the goblins and that there was an evolved goblin leading the group."

"Goblins, huh?" – said the girl with short green hair.

"Is the pay good?"

"Well, the base pay is good, but according to the quest, you can get paid more depending on how much information you have provided." – replied the youngest member with a sour expression.

"..."

"What’s wrong bro?" – asked older blond-haired man.

"....The quest location.... It sounds... Familiar to say the least." – said the youngest party member.

"Mevon."

"I think I’ve heard about that place once.... But where?"

"..."

"!"

"Wait." – said the beast-human.

"Wasn’t that place where the golem dungeon was at?"

"!"

"Right! When Garmfon kingdom was still around, we once took a quest regarding that place!" – said the youngest member as he finally remembers the golem dungeon.

"Fuck me... Back then it was a giant mess."

"We went in with Garmfon kingdom military force.... And we were annihilated."

"A lot of us died."

"Huh? Was it that bad?" – asked the short haired girl.

"Yea.... It was." – said the older blond-haired man.

"Before you two joined, we were a party of 6."

"However, after the raid? 3 of ours died to these shitty explosions." – said the beast-human with sad expression.

"But-"

"Excuse me." – said the young robust woman that approached the table.

"?"

"Who are you?" – asked the beast-human party member as he then noticed that the woman with voluptuous body was not wearing any form of equipment related to the adventurer work, and instead wore a formal suit.

"I’m guild master of the Giriaw Branch Guild." – said the woman with fox ears and tail, introducing herself to the party, which instantly caused everybody to be caught off guard.

"Amelia Smith."

"Do you mind if we talk in private for a moment?"

"..."

"Sure." – said bit nervous older blond-haired man as moments later he and his entire party were taken to the private room, which was located on the second floor of the adventurer guild.

"I’m sorry for dragging you so suddenly, but I’ve overheard you talking about something that I couldn’t ignore." – said the guild master as she sat down.

"Do you know something about that investigation quest?"

"Specifically, you mentioned something about ’dungeon’, correct?"

"Y-yes... We do... But shouldn’t the guild already know about the dungeon?" – asked the older blond-haired man.

"?"

"What do you mean?" – asked guild master with cautions looks.

"Well... The adventurers were hired to deal with the dungeon and stuff." – replied the blond-haired man.

"Shouldn’t the guild have some records or something like that?"

"..."

*Sigh*

"I fucking knew it." – said the guild master as she leaned backwards with extremely annoyed expression, which instantly confused the whole group.

"There was.... An incident involving elves."

"You know how adventurers guilds are total neutral in most cases during the war? We don’t involve ourselves in the wars if we don’t want to, right?"

"Well... The elves completely ignored this ’neutrality’ and they attacked anybody."

"They burned down adventurers guild and attacked adventurers that were actively avoiding the war."

"Apparently it has gotten so bad, that the adventurer guilds inside of their own kingdom were also attacked by the elves, since they ’refused to cooperate’, per say."

"Because of those stupid bastards, we had lost a good chunk of records and information, that was in possession of each respective guild branches."

"So the rumors were real then? About them burning down the adventurer guilds?" – asked visible pissed off bear beastwoman.

"Yea, it was 100% true. They really bloody did it." – said the guild master as she looked towards the party.

"..."

"Now... Would you mind explaining me about that dungeon?"

"You will be rewarded."

"...Fine." – said the older blond haired party member, as he then began full story of the golem dungeon from their perspective.

A first massive raid, which was organized by the conquered Garmfon kingdom, which was still under control of the traitorous Duke Ash.

And the destruction of the raid force.

"We were pretty much destroyed back then." – said the older blond haired party member.

"Afterwords, we heard about a different quest that was posted across many guild branches, about a second dungeon raid attempt."

"However, this time being led by the elven kingdom."

"I don’t know if they succeed or not, since I think the raid may had happened around the time war has happened? Maybe earlier?"

"I don’t remember that part, but I do remember that there was a second dungeon raid attempt."

"..."

"I see." – said the guild master.

"Thank you all for the information."

"There is a chance that some of the adventurer guild branches may still hold some of the old quest request."

"If they really made quest request in multiple kingdoms, there is a chance that we may find something."

"You are dismissed. I will later make sure to comparative, so please make sure to stay in the city for a bit, it shouldn’t take long."

"No problem. We are just grateful that we could be of assistance." – said the older blond-haired man as he and his party bowed their heads, before then leaving the private meeting room.

"..."

(Dungeon that produces golems?) – thought the guild master with worried expression.

(Did the elves beaten the dungeon? If they did, then this would mean that the goblins may had formed their own settlement instead and evolved goblins, including possibly leader type goblins could had been born.)

"..."

(However... If it isn’t goblins... Then we may have another problem at hand.)

(If that dungeon wasn’t destroyed and instead was left alone for all this time....)

(Shit.)

(We may have a large-scale monster stampede at our hands.)
