Chapter 188: Chapter 188 – Aiming to destroy.

[3 days later after the night raid.]

"..."

"So.... Nothing?" – asked the guild master Amelia Smith as the leader of the Silver Talons paid her a visit in her tent.

"No ma’am." – replied the leader of the Silver Talon party.

"There was no activity or movement from the golems which could been as ’hostile’."

"They are just... Staying near the dungeon."

"They are not changing their positions or anything."

"They are just standing in place."

"It is just exactly the same as when we first came here."

"..."

*Sigh*

"This doesn’t make any fucking sense." – said Amelia as she leaned back on her chair while holding her face.

(The golems are truly not doing anything.) – thought Amelia.

(No attacks. No changes.)

(It is just like before.)

"..."

"These boss monsters... What about them?" – asked the guild master.

"Can’t say." – replied the leader of the Silver Talons.

"They had once again put top security around the place and approaching it would be risky."

"And if they would spot me.... Then it could cause all of them to go after the camp."

"However based on what happened before, I think that the boss monsters are right outside the dungeon entrance, guarding it."

"It would explain why we haven’t seen them before."

"There is also maybe a chance that they were hiding inside of the dungeon."

"According to your report, the dungeon entrance form does not match the information we have." – said the guild master.

"The size and appearance do not look like a cave, but somewhat man-made structure made out of bricks?"

"Yeb. A solid build if I say so." – said the masked adventurer.

"It probably won’t be destroyed if a tree or two fall on top of it."

"..."

"..."

"What about the rest of the territory around the dungeon? Was it also changed?" – asked the guild master.

"No. It is the same. Just nature. Only dungeon entrance is a construct." – said the masked adventurer.

"I see..." – said visible extremely exhausted guild master.

"..."

"I think you need to rest." – said masked adventurer.

"You are looking more and more like corpse with each passing day."

"Ouch. Don’t you freaking know how to hold back against a lady?" – asked annoyed guild master.

"I mean it. You really need to rest up." – said the masked adventurer.

"..."

*Sigh*

"Do you really think I can?" – asked guild master with pissed off expression.

"This isn’t just a simple monster subjection, but a straight up war."

"Even if the army is mighty, it can be still defeated by a bunch of weaklings if the one leading them is more than capable."

"Quote said by the historical figure, general Morax Rune."

"Right now? We know we can defeat the golems."

"But in the head on fight, we will suffer some heavy casualties."

"Not only that, we are not dealing with idiot, but a bastard that can think."

"And there is also the thing regarding that night attack."

"It may really had been a warning, test or a bait.... It could be all 3 really."

"Either way, we are currently at the stalemate."

"We are supposed to be taking actions to deal with these monsters... But right now?"

"Our hands are tied."

"To make matters worse, there is still a lot of rampaging monsters out on the lose."

"Meaning that we cannot waste too much time on this place no matter what."

"However, if we rush it, a lot of people will die." – said the masked adventurer.

"Yeah... That is the problem." – replied guild master.

(About between today and few days after... The dungeon should had been conquered.)

(THAT was our originally train of thoughts that we came up with.)

(However now?)

(The situation is beyond bizarre.)

"..."

"This maybe sound stupid... But what if the dungeon master can understand our speech?" – asked the masked adventurer.

"?"

"What do you mean? Are you suggesting we should just ’talk things out’ with him?" – asked the guild master.

"You know how st-.... No. You already said that."

"Still, let’s say that we are able to talk to it, what then?"

"It is a monster."

"It already killed people."

"Because we attacked first." – replied masked adventurer.

"Maybe it is really only carrying about protecting itself?"

"I may not had been adventurer as long as you had been, miss Amelie, but before we became adventurers we were private soldiers working for a noble, a monsters hunters."

"We have more than enough experience when it comes to monsters."

"Be it mindless beats."

"Or organized demi-humans like pigmen or goblins."

"We also dealt with dungeons."

"And let me tell you something."

"The actions that this dungeon is taking? The dungeon master is taking? It doesn’t make sense."

"Golems aren’t living beings."

"They don’t need food or anything."

"So what do they do?"

"They serv the dungeon master who pulls all the strings."

"But what does it want?"

"..."

"Are you suggesting that we somehow make a contact with the dungeon master and try to form a partnership? With monsters?" – asked the guild master.

"And not just any monster."

"A freaking dungeon master who rules over the dungeon that murders and devour people while also giving birth to countless monsters?"

"True. This does sounds completely insane and beyond stupid." – said the masked adventurer.

"However, considering what we saw, do you truly think that it is not possible to ’talk things out’ with the dungeon master?"

"..."

"This is pure stupidity." – said Amelia Smith.

"Letting dungeon that isn’t tamed to be roam free and allow it to expand is beyond stupid."

"Let’s say that we make the deal with the dungeon."

"For example, it give us some golems to do some research AND materials."

"While in exchange, we leave it the hell alone."

"However, what if the dungeon would suddenly decide to ’screw this, it ain’t worth it’, and just straight up betray us?"

"That dungeon would not only be at the full power, but it would also be way more powerful."

"Tell me."

"Can we take that kind of risk?"

"..."

"No. We cannot." – replied masked adventurer.

"But at the same time, what is the next course of action then? We do need to do something about this whole place."

"Yeah.... And I guess there is only one way of doing this if we want to keep the casualties to the minimum." – replied the guild master.’

"A massive raid force."

"We will overwhelm the dungeon forces so much that they will end up getting one sided defeated."

"That is the only course of action we can take right now."

"However it doesn’t mean we can just relax until reinforce comes here."

"There maybe a chance that a monster outbreak could occur somewhere, forcing us to send some people here and there."

"Maybe the golems will do something?"

"Maybe we will discover something new that will change completely the whole situation?"

"Answer."

"I have no freaking idea."

"So for now, we need to keep watch over the situation and find a way to deal with it as soon as possible."

"..."

"Okay... I will inform my party about this and tell them to keep watch." – said the masked adventurer.

"If something pops up, I will inform you immediately." – said the masker adventurer as he left the tent and began traversing the camp itself.... But out of nowhere, the man disappeared into the crowd of people, without anybody noticing.

"..."

"Took you long enough." – said Arthur Wirmur as the shadow inside of his tent started taking on a humanoid form.

"I’ve came here as soon as the meeting was over." – said the leader of the Silver Talons.

"And? What did she said?" – asked Arthur Wirmur.

"Denied. She is not even willing to consider this proposition. If anything, she maybe fully against it." – said the masked adventurer.

"Don’t bother using name of the duke. It won’t work either. She laid a solid ground on her argument and no matter how you would spin it around, we wouldn’t be able to make her back away."

"Unless we take over the entire dungeon without the adventurers’ help."

"However, it looks like the operation will be halted for a bit."

"The guild master is going with the plan that was discussed yesterday."

"The overwhelming force one."

"Pretty much, once the reinforcement do come here, all of the golems inside of that forest will be exterminated, and so will be all the monsters inside of the dungeon."

"And probably the dungeon master as well."

"Honestly, she is panicking and she is scared."

"She isn’t stupid woman who we can manipulate."

"And don’t even think about using hypnosis on her, it won’t work."

"So... You are saying that she may ignore the authority of the duke?" – asked Arthur.

"She will." – said the masked adventurer.

"And so, all other gathered adventurers."

"Honestly speaking? It may not just end up with this guild master."

"If the information spread, the entire guild branch of the empire may end up becoming enemies with the duke."

*Sigh*

"You are fucking with me, aren’t you?" – said Arthur.

"Unfortunately. No." – replied the masked adventurer.

"The current situation is beyond dire."

"..."

(Fuck.... This isn’t good.) – thought Arthur.

(Still, now the value of that dungeon straight up sky rocketed.)

(We need to get our hands on both the dungeon and the dungeon master himself.)

(...)

(Should we get rid of the guild master?)

(If we kill her, the operation will definitely be put on halt.)

(....No.... Bad idea.)

(It may cause paranoia and people will think that golems did it.)

(Or they may point out to the best guy that knows how to sneak around....)

(We are fine with the golems being eliminated, but not fine with the dungeon master being eliminate.)

(The chances of her ignoring my order are high now....)

"..."

(We need to have the army destroy the army of golems inside of the forest, but we can’t let adventurers get inside of the dungeon or at very least, stop them from reaching the end of the dungeon where the dungeon master will be waiting for the invaders.)

*Sigh*

"Yeb."

"Now I’m the one stuck with massive pain in the ass dilemma....."

"Fun fucking tastic."
