Chapter 189: Chapter 189 – Golem’s.... Move?

The adventurers were wary of the dungeon as well as the dungeon master.

They knew that there may be some sort of trick or trap laid down by dungeon master.

So, in order to win this "war" and make sure to barely suffer any casualties, the guild master Amelia Smith alongside the party leaders of several parties had decided to request additional reinforcement.

The strategy is simple.

Overwhelm completely both the forest and dungeon.

However, in the meantime, there was still good chance that the dungeon could still try to pull some form of trick, meaning that the adventurers need to keep their guard up at all-time high.

However, even as the days went by, nothing really occurred.

A week has passed after the night raid.

Yet the golems did not shown any form of activity.

They just "stood" in place.

Even when it rained nonstop for the entire sixth and seventh day, the golems just "stood" in place.

And then came the eight day.

The rain has stopped... And again, the golems have not shown any form of activity.

"..."

(Fuck me.) – thought the guild master as she gazed in the direction of the forest.

*Yawn*

(This "peace" is terrifying me.) – thought the guild master, who was visible tired and exhausted in more than one way, as it was even shown on her face as she had a pair of bags underneath her eyes.

(We had been already here for some time now....)

(And a whole week has passed since the night raid.)

(There is no fucking way.... Was the "warning" thing real then?)

(Does the dungeon master really do not want us here?)

(No.)

(Monster.)

(Don’t forget about simplest thing like this.)

(There is no way we can make any form of deal with them.)

(We are going to destroy it.)

(Still, the problem is with reinforcements.)

(Gathering enough forces and powerful enough to survive the fight will be quiet hard, since we already took a lot of adventurers from around the place.)

(And there is also a security problem with monsters.)

(So far there was no problem whatsoever, but still, other places still need to check if it is SAFE to have their troops leave and head towards it. They want to make sure that there won’t be any incident while their forces are gone.)

"...."

(Still, even if it will take somewhat longer for reinforcement to get here, we will be able to stand out ground.)

(There is no way dungeon can manifest enough monsters to change the situation in their favor.)

"..."

"But why the fuck is he not doing anything?" – whispered to herself Amelia Smith.

(He IS smart.)

(And he probably has ability to see things.)

(So WHY is he not doing anything!?)

(Is he just scared?)

(Is he just baiting us?)

(What the hell is going on?)

*Sigh*

"Honestly, I kind of wish he would just attack... At least THAT would make at least bit less paranoid."

"..."

"..."

(Fucking bitch.) – thought Arthur Wirmur as he watched from afar the guild master.

(What the hell do I do with her?)

(I’ve thought about some options and other shit.... But nothing seems to be a good approach.)

(I’ve thought about maybe pretending to be the dungeon master and sending a message via golem... But that approach would fail on the spot.)

(It would confuse them... But she is already dead set on conquering the whole place.)

(Even if I were to talk about "peace" and shit, it would never work.... Not only that, if the golems WERE to attack, it would instead provoke this bastards further.)

(Fuck me! I’m running out of time here!)

(I’ve already asked these bastards to do a little sabotage by having monsters go amok.... But it won’t buy nearly enough time.)

*Sigh*

(Is there anything I can do?) – thought the man as he started walking towards the barricade and then gazing at the forest.

(Based on what I’ve seen.... The golem infested forest will be eliminated.)

(She doesn’t know yet, but the reinforcement that will come here will be more than powerful enough to overwhelm the dungeon.)

(Even if the dungeon master were to a A-rank monster, it won’t survive.... No. It is definitely not A-rank.)

(Fuck! Screw killing the guild master! I would need to kill all adventurers here!)

(But if I do that, then it would definitely cause a freaking avalanche of trouble.... And the one I will have to take responsibility for.)

(But if I don’t manage to find a way to stop them from destroying the dungeon, I will be the one being fucked!)

(I will be the one held responsible no matter how the situation is handled!)

(...Honestly if it wasn’t for that bitch being member of the fox folk, I would had used mind control on her.)

(Normally beastmen possess weaker magical connection compare to the humans, but when it comes to the fox folk, they affinity towards the magic is noticeable much stronger.)

(Not only that, but their ability to sense magic is also noticeable stronger.)

(If I remember correctly... I’ve also heard about some creatures called kitsune... Right?)

(They are monsters? People? I don’t know. All I know they are also foxes and stuff.)

(Either way, these freaking foxes are annoying... Especially that guild master.)

(She is keeping eye on me.)

(If it wasn’t for the Silver Talons warning me about this, I would had never noticed it.)

(Is because of that? Is she holding a grudge because I tried to boss her around with duke’s authority?)

*Sigh*

"I wish some sort of miracle would happened or something..."

(If not, then my head may end up rolling on the ground.) – thought panicking Arthur who started considering running away if the golem dungeon were to be destroyed.

"?"

"What the fuck?" – said the guild master as she saw a lone hooded figure running at top speed from the forest to the hill.

(Why.... Why the fuck is he running here at the max speed?!) – thought the extremely nervous guild master as she realized who the person running towards the camp was.

And that man was none other than the leader of the Silver Talons.

"!"

"Hey. Where is the guild master?" – asked the masked adventurer as he instantly approached dwarven knight.

"S-she is right behind you." – said the dwarven knight as he pointed at the guild master in the distance, who was currently having very nervous expression on her face while heading towards the masked man.

"..."

"Report." – asked the guild master instantly as the two individuals ran up to each other.

"Are the golems on the move?"

"..."

"Yes.... But something is off." – replied the man, which instantly put the guild master on the high alert.

"What is it?" – asked the guild master.

"There is.... There is only a single golem approaching our location?" – replied the man with bit confused expression.

"...."

"Eh?"

"Wait, what did you said, a single golem?" – asked the guild master.

"Yes. Just a single one." – replied the man.

"It isn’t one of those giants or boss monsters."

"Just... A single humanoid type golem."

"..."

"???"

"Wait, wait, wait, wait.... Are you.... Are you sure?" – asked the guild master again.

"YES! I’M SURE! I’VE EVEN ASSIGNED ONE OF MY PARTY MEMEBERS TO TAIL THE GOLEM WHILE THE OTHER ONE IS OBSERVING THE ARMY OF GOLEMS!" – replied the man with the mask.

"..."

"Oh..."

(THE FUCK!?) – thought the guild master.

"..."

"Is there anything... Special about him? Where is he heading" – asked the nervous guild master.

"Well... He looks like one of those knight golems, but its design is noticeable different compare to the other knights." – replied the masked adventurer.

"As for the direction.... It is heading directly towards our camp."

"..."

(OH, FUCK OFF!) – thought guild master as she bit into her lips out of anger and stress.

(It was finally going well! The reinforcements will sooner or later come here and the dungeon will come here!)

"..."

*Sigh*

"What is that dungeon planning this time?"

"..."

"Magur." – said the guild master to the dwarven knight behind her, who was overhearing the entire conversation.

"Y-yes?" – replied the nervous dwarf.

"Please inform the guards about the situation... It doesn’t look like there will be war.... But just in case some random bullshit really does appear." – said the guild master as the adventurers and soldiers on the guard duty started making their preparations, while the lone unknown golem made their way through the forest.

And finally, the golem in question finally left the forest.... But as it did, it was welcomed by the adventurers, who were on top of their barricades and make shift walls, ready to fight.

"..."

(What the hell is this?) – thought the guild master who was using a spy glass, to spot a knight looking golem who walked out of the forest.

However, this knight golem’s appearance was very different compare to all other golems.

Its armor was noticeable more refined, a higher tier.

(Appearance wise, it is indeed different looking.... And not only that, it has four arms instead of two.)

(There are also.... 4 eyes thing? There is also some weird thing right in the middle of its face.) – thought the dungeon master as it saw the golem having 4 eye like object on its face, alongside one massive gem glass like object on its face.... Being completely unaware of the fact that all 5 objects in questions were eyes.

Four of these smaller eyes allowed the golem to looked in different places at the same time... While the bigger one in the middle allowed to golem see things from afar, including the camp.

"!"

"It’s moving!" – said the cat beastwoman as the knight golem started moving towards the hill where the camp was located.

"..."

"Should we shot it?" – asked the human archer.

"No.... Not yet... But if it starts running or something, then fire at will." – replied guild master.

"The dungeon used in the past bomb like weapons. Who can say that this thing isn’t a bomb?"

"Keep your guard up and be ready to fire at any moment." – said the guild master as the lone golem continues walking towards the camp, reaching the hill and starting to climb it up... Before then stopping in tracks.

"?"

"What is it doing now?" – said the cat beastwoman, before moments later the golem suddenly raised up all of its hands up and started waving at the camp, which instantly confused the adventurers and soldiers.

(Did.... Did that thing just waved at us?!) – thought the guild master as she then observed the creature reaching for something behind it, a pouch, before then taking something out and putting it on the ground.

After putting the object down on the ground, the golem would just stood up and walk away, without even looking back.

Meanwhile? Adventurers did nothing.

They didn’t attacked or approached the golem.

They just watched the golem entire time... Who then disappeared back amongst the tress.

"..."

"There is nothing else... Right?" – asked the guild master.

"No ma’am." – replied the party member A of the Silver Talons.

"The leader who swapped with me and my other college did not reported anything nor made any form of signal.... That means that there was never any new golem beside this one."

"..."

"Okay.... Then.... Let’s go fetch that thing." – said the guild master as she climbed over the barricade.

"!?"

"Are you crazy?! What if this is a trap?!" – asked the worried dwarven knight Magur.

"Nah.... We need to see what that guy left behind." – replied visible nervous guild master.... But yet with determined and focused look.

"However just in case, you two. Come with me." – said the guild master as she pointed at the male human priest and male human mage.

"If something happens, I want you to take care of my back, got it?"

"..."

"Yes guild master." – replied the nervous duo as the small group left the camp and began carefully walking down the cliff.... Before then arriving at their destination.

"?"

"A scroll?" – and upon their arrival, the guild master alongside the two adventurers found the object which was left behind by the golem, a rolled-up scroll.

"..."

"Check with me." – said the guild master as the trio of the staff wielders put their staffs above the scroll.

"..."

"No reaction." – replied the mage.

"Same here." – said the priest.

"..."

"Me as well..." – said nervous guild master as she then gave signal for the two men to walk away and after they got far enough, the guild master slowly leaned towards the scroll, while being still wary of a possibility of it being the trap.

The guild master put her hands down on the scroll and began slowly unrolling it, making sure that the object wasn’t by any chance some sort of magical trap.

However, there was no reaction until the end as the woman managed to completely unroll the scroll.

"..."

"What the fuck?"

{"I’m the dungeon master of the golem dungeon."}

{"I do not wish to fight, but I will fight to protect myself."}

{"However, if it possible to resolve this entire thing peaceful, I’m willing to exchange words with your leader."}

{"If you decide to hold a conversation, please head to the forest where the golem you saw before will be waiting for you."}

{"I won’t bring my army, but I will watch your movement. If you dare to betray my trust, this means war."}

{"I just want to have peaceful talk."}
