Jessie stared at her guards from her balcony, hoping that Cedric wouldn’t rush here in rage after knowing the final decision made by their council. Pressing her lips together, she began to wonder how she will stay with Shanz under the same roof.

" Can’t sleep?", his voice startled her. Gasping loud, Jessie whipped her head back to find Shanz, coming down from his window to her balcony.

When did he become acting like monkey? Oh Chitahs!

She nearly forgot that he was the shifter of night and had powers to crawl, jump faster than monkey. Without giving him any answer, she tore her gaze from him, pretending to watch the distance. That didn’t affect Shanz at all. With a big grin plastering on his face, he went over to stand by her side and let out a long sigh.

" Does it please you to see me getting tormented?", Jessie blurted, pursuing her lips together tightly.

Shanz didn’t reply to her at once. Those deep dark eyes held an ocean of mystery which no one found ever. Yes, he liked to torment her but in different way. He enjoyed her emotional suffering when she fought hard to prove that she hated him.

" Yes!", Shanz replied, lightening up his cigarette between his fingers. After taking a puff, he blew it right on her face to see her coughing vigorously. Jessie waved her hands to clean the air and gave him a sharp glare to see him smirking devilishly. Her face clouded in rage instantly.

Shanz continued with a chuckle,

" Just like I said, I like to torment you, Jess."

Jessie bit her tongue hard and failed to restrain her words anymore,

" Of course, you will! For someone like you who hypnotized his own girlfriend to kill her family have no shame or morality in his heart. So of course, you will enjoy it, Prince Shanz."

Her words were finished in a breath, her lips began to quiver nervously. She was staying in his castle yet dared to insult him in the cruelest way. Her words brought no change on Shanz’s expression. He continued puffing, his eyes drinking her puffing cheeks. She was the same spitfire like before.

Jessie waited for his response which didn’t come out. Her body began to stiffen under his hawk-like eyes as if he was sizing its prey. When she didn’t get any answer, she bit her lips fiercely in anger.

Was he playing with her?

That little action didn’t get missed from his eyes. He watched the way, her tongue salivating her bottom lips. She used to do it quite often in the past when she was nervous. His throat felt dry, raw desire blooming from the pit of his stomach. Desperately, he wanted to tear his eyes off from him but he was incapable of blinking away. He wondered how those lips tasted years after. During these lonely years, he had bedded countless women but never kissed a single one nor did someone was capable of turning on his desire.

Before he could pay attention to his actions, his arms streched forward, pulling her close in a tight grip. Jessie let out a startled gasp, surprised by his sudden action.

Was he mad?

She couldn’t think further as the cigarette flavoured breath was fanning straight on her face. His face was very close, so close to her face that she could feel his irregular breathing. His grip felt shaky but there was possessiveness behind his hold. Jessie wondered why did he reacted so long after.

Shanz brought his closer until he was speaking, right on her face. Grinding his teeth together, he muttered with a harsh breath,

" If you ever loved me once, just think twice before telling that whether was It really me who hypnotized you that night to kill your precious family, Jess. You know what? No matter what happens, you will always choose your family over me...over me.. like always.."

Jessie’s eyes snapped open slightly, trying to get the meaning of his words. Her lips parted, breath coming out erratic. She tried to detach himself but Shanz bent down, almost kissing her lips. Just when their lips were an inch apart, Jessie closed her eyes and shut anxiously. She didn’t want to repeat the mistake again. This was all her hallucinations.

Both of their breathing came out harshly, this terrible distance made her heart racing like a wild horse. A part of her wanted him to kiss her but her half subconscious mind said the opposite.

He is manipulating you again!

Jessie’s mind yelled, ruining every desire within her. Before they could make their own decision, a whining voice interrupted the heat atmosphere,

" My prince!"

Jessie jolted fast, stepping away instinctively. Her eyes pulled over to discover a girl in blanket at his corridor upstairs. Since the rooms were at same position in two different floors, it was easy to cross the wide spacious balcony.

In a flash of moment, all of her feelings were gone. A self mockery smile formed on her lips with her cold words, coming out,

" Your Mistress might be waiting for you too long, Prince Shanz. You shall not waste your time with someone like me here."

Shanz eyes narrowed at the girl at his balcony and without wasting anymore words, he started walking away from Jessie, leaving her alone. Each step he had taken away from her, Jessie’s eyes began to water slowly. It was all rumours before that Shanz had many women. Now, he was turning it true,right after her eyes. Was he going to sleep with this woman now when she was living in this castle?

How will she tell her mind that this man no longer belong to her anymore?
