__________
The following day, the news of Ayra’s miscarriage had spreaded all over the palace. The shocking part was that most of them blamed Ayra for being clumsy and careless about her baby. No one tried to dig out the truth and they followed the old traditional rule ’ blaming woman for everything’. But Ayra could care less about their gossips. Cedric’s betrayal had left her heartbroken, shattered into pieces completely. She felt blank inside without having the feeling of living in this palace.
After Elizabeth’s consistent nagging, Ayra had no choice but to follow her downstairs. She wanted to stay alone in her room. Good thing that Cedric didn’t enter the second time in her room after he admitted the incident about her miscarriage.
" You should eat more!", Elizabeth murmured, dropping the fruits in her plate. Ayra sighed softly and clutched the fruit to put into her mouth. Less than a minute, footsteps barged from the doorway, followed by a familiar presence. Ayra stiffened when she knew who it was coming.

She still had to figure out how to face him or look into his eyes after everything. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she chewed the apple, hoping that he would be gone without having breakfast. Cedric stopped by the table without making his appearance too obvious. His eyes focused on her sullen expression, the panic of leaving his sight evidently.
After a soft sigh, he went off in the opposite direction, sitting against her chair. Naturally, he ate next to her, and loved to share this family time. During this past few months, it was the only time that he ate without her beside. Cedric didn’t take his eyes off easily and extended his arms to grab the glass of juice, muttering to the maid who was standing next to her,
" Serve that tonic to your, Lady!"
Cedric asked to prepare that tonic for her recovery. The healer stated that she was too weak currently, especially her unwillingness to recover fast. So he instructed it personally for her. His words didn’t miss Ayra’s attention who panicked slightly, memories drifted back to the moments when he asked her to drink that strange liquor and she ended up losing her baby.
" I..I would like to leave..", Ayra muttered through her quivering lips and stumbled straight to head upstairs. Cedric who didn’t wish to stop her had no choice without raising his voice. She could stay mad at him but her health was the most important thing now.
He raised his tone, halting her track abruptly,
" Don’t... Princess...Eat...If you want me nowhere, I can leave but you eat first."
Ayra looked away as if she was speaking to someone else in the dinning room,
" I don’t want to eat anymore.."
She rose up her feet to leave again when Cedric groaned loudly, forgetting the iciness of his voice,
" Stop....You must eat..."
This time, Ayra lost her calmness. The pale, sullen appearance of her face dissapared, added fire of rage on her expression. Her nostrils flared up and the affection that she always showered on him had gone when their gaze connected. Ayra stomped forward, her hand unexpectedly slammed on the table to shout back at him,
" You do not tell me what to do, Cedric!"
The sound of table cracking horrified Elizabeth whose eyes went wide when Ayra’s eyes began to change colors. She stammered, rushing next to her quickly to cajole,
" Princess... please.. Calm down.."
Hatred from a mother is far more stronger than a man’s affection. Despite everything, Cedric didn’t make any sound. He didn’t even try to defend himself, knowing very well that Ayra’s power could destroy him. During the fuss, Ayra failed to notice that all of her powers were working inside the boundary of Dixon Palace which once restricted other powers to perform here. Cedric gave her the permission days back. It was her who didn’t try to check whether it was working or not.
After Elizabeth’s reminder, Ayra was slightly shocked to notice that her own anger. Her face turned pale in nervousness. Swallowing down, she turned around to storm upstairs. Elizabeth wanted to follow her but Cedric stopped her, keeping his eyes stuck her retreating back,
" Let her calm down, Elizabeth!"
Elizabeth sighed before getting back at her position. She just wished that they would stop fighting like this. Her princess was so happy before yesterday. Elizabeth looked up at Cedric and picked up her courage to tell him on face,
" Your Highness! .. Aren’t you worried that she might decide to leave you with us? You know, she is upset about the miscarriage."
Cedric stopped chewing midway. Pushing his eyes up to smile at Elizabeth, he boasted shamelessly,
" She won’t be upset anymore if I put another baby inside her fast. Will she?"
Elizabeth blushed before looking away awkwardly. His use of tone wasn’t really good and she regretted asking too much. Cedric after dealing with his breakfast, he lifted himself from the chair, heading a few steps for the doorway before clapping his hands to notify his guards,
" Bring them inside! "
Later on, Ayra hid herself inside her bedroom, trying to cool her temper but it failed to fall on place repeatedly. She didn’t want to harm anyone because of her power or rage. She had done it countless times in the past and truth to be told, she was tired of facing those accusations of eyes from others.
Her lips quivered anxiously, her hand getting itchy to burn or smash something. She silently blamed Cedric because her anger peaked whenever she looked into his eyes and remembered how she lost her first child. Her tears almost fell when the door of her room burst open, followed by a squeal of pups across her room.
Ayra’s eyes shot up to fall on them, gasped in surprise to see that it was those pups who were sent away from the castle by Cedric.
But who brought them back? Will her powers hurt these innocent pups too?
