The following day in Basarisk was welcomed by tipsy weather. It was drizzling in the early morning and had brought an unexpected cold in the land. Rain wasn’t a good sign for flying dragons especially since it prevented them from blowing fires in the air. Those who were average dragons faced a hard time in doing regular work.
By that time, Ayra woke up with a sore feeling between her thighs, Cedric was gone from her side. Well, she wasn’t surprised since it was the effect of marrying a king. But the smile on her face became wider when she remembered her own confession from last night. She didn’t regret telling him the buried truth of her heart. As the god had showered her with blessings, she was ready to fight the battle until the very end.
After taking a fresh shower, Ayra headed downstairs, considering it a new start to their relationship. From this day onwards, she decided to give it a try to become their eligible queen. She had to learn to share the responsibilities with Cedric.
In their dining place, Frenchies were already there, talking to a few villagers who came to report something. Upon seeing her, they bowed respectively to the queen and continued talking. Ayra spoke standing a few feet away from them,
" Is there any problem, Frenchies?"
Frenchies who just heard about the situation in Jade Town turned to answer the queen’s question. Frenchies replied in a polite voice, his gaze lowering to the ground,
" My Lady, Jade Town is facing a few troubles. At first, the rain has been affecting their business for the past few days. Rather than that, there is a river in the middle of the forest. Their women are going missing whenever they are going to take water. So far, 4 missing reports have been filed already."
Ayra’s darkened in shock immediately. Taking a few steps towards the villagers, she replied with curiosity,
" 4 are missing already? Do you suspect anyone?"
The common villagers shook their heads unknowingly. One of the men broke into tears before telling,
" No..My lady...My daughter...was just turned 18..She has been missing since last night..We haven’t seen anyone in a while nor do we suspect anyone. Jade Town is always famous for having peace and harmony. We do not have any common enemies in other towns.."
Ayra noted everything mentally, understanding the emergence of the situation. Turning her face to Frenchies, she looked around,
" Where is your Lord? Doesn’t he know?"
Frenchies shook his head before replying,
" No, my lady! As you know, we are working on the security of our land, he has gone to check the protections personally. He will be back by evening."
Ayra couldn’t wait for him. Already a few girls were missing and she had to start the investigation fast. Without wasting a moment, she urged Frenchies,
" Let’s go to Jade Town, Frenchies! We can’t waste time here. Take Siemus with us!"
Frenchies weren’t willing since Hayden was still there, trying to kidnap her in every possible way. Frenchies reminded her, coming closer in a low voice,
" But my lady.. It’s not safe for you..Why don’t you wait and let me take care of it?"
Ayra sighed heavily, already putting her mind to go and searching for it on her own,
" I can’t hide.. forever.. Frenchies.. Better, we go now..I am not that weak.. That day, I was just shocked and couldn’t summon my powers..By the way, where is Debisa? Is he doing okay? I haven’t seen him since I got back my consciousness."
Frenchies were a bit surprised to hear her. But thankfully understood that Cedric didn’t tell her about the demise of Debisa who sacrificed himself to save her. Not wanting to affect her mood, Frenchies dodged the question wisely, peeking his head out to see the foggy sky,
" My lady..we should start going now..We have to return before the evening..."
Ayra quickly nodded her head and forgot the topic regarding Debisa. Ordering the maid to bring two long hoodies, she waited for the carriage to come at the entrance.
Right after their carriage left for Jade Town, another carriage came to a stop in a halt in front of the Dixon Palace. Followed by, a pair of long legs climbed off from the carriage. Arthur Richards came out with a big smile on his face. It wasn’t easy to trick his parents by coming here.
Actually Alexander wanted to leave a long time ago but Cedric kept pestering him to stay longer. Besides, the coronation ceremony had a long time left. So, it was for the best that he stayed by Cedric’s side and learnt about Royal affairs. Also, Cedric didn’t want Ayra to be left alone without Elizabeth in the palace as two of his sisters weren’t living here.
So, Arthur had found his excuse for coming here. He told his mother that he wanted to learn like Alexander from Cedric. After two days of nagging, Esme finally allowed him to leave their castle. Esme actually feared that Arthur would cause trouble for Ayra there. Unlike Alexander, Arthur was a little childish and carefree regarding his behavior.
Arthur headed straight into the palace only to be stopped at the entrance when he saw Elizabeth, instructing the maids. Before leaving the palace, Ayra shifted her work to Elizabeth so she was doing her duties at that time. Arthur’s lips pulled into a delightful smile, imagining her managing their own castle one day. She absolutely looked stunning like a queen at this moment.
" Elizabeth...", Arthur called her excitedly, stunning Elizabeth who had no idea of his coming. She gave him a big smile. Before she could say anything, Arthur ran to her and pulled her into a tight, unexpected hug. He murmured into her ears emotionally,
" I missed you..I missed you so much.."
Over the stairs, Alexander’s step froze after witnessing the scene downstairs. He could only swallow the lump in his throat painfully.
