Chapter 570: Tragedy In Jade Town!

Only when Elizabeth began to squirm under his grasp, Arthur let go of the hold of his arms. He raised his head to smile at his brother who stayed on the stairs in his usual poker face. Arthur smiled big, not noticing the dark gleam in Alexander’s eyes,

" Brother Alex! You forgot me!"

Arthur ran to the stairs, pulled his brother into a short hug. Alexander snorted out coldly,

" It’s you who forgot about me!"

Arthur didn’t understand the underlined meaning behind his words. He only thought that Alexander was teasing him and didn’t argue back. Arthur pouted winking at his brother,

" Aww! Don’t be angry on me. I came here to give you a good news!"

Elizabeth also sharpened her ears, hearing the name of good news. As she was close to Chole family, every good news regarding them mattered to her.

Alexander groaned hissing at his brother,

" What good news?"

Arthur appeared excited, grinning while glancing between Elizabeth and Alexander suspiciously. He then blurted suddenly,

" Father.. Father has selected a girl for you! My dear brother, you are going to get married soon. I am here to fetch you personally."

Both Elizabeth and Alexander froze for a few seconds. Alexander couldn’t help but glance at Elizabeth who just looked down at her feet, holding the unexpected tears. The stab in her heart was too much to control easily. Thankfully, Arthur rushed over to Elizabeth before pulling her outside,

" Elizabeth...I heard that they have a dragon here..Show me..Show me... Please..."

He didn’t wait for her answer and started to drag her out of the castle domineering. Only one person remained unmoved in his spot and it was Alexander who was dumbstruck after hearing the news. It was a relief that his opinions mattered to his parents but what was he going to tell to his brother who was heed over heels in love with Elizabeth?

Meanwhile, Ayra’s carriage entered the Jade Town at the evening almost. The sun was set to go down. Passing the bridge through carriage was the most beautiful scene that she had ever seen. No wonder, people from Jade Town called them calm and peaceful. The nature of this town had explained a lot already.

Ayra chose the most shabby carriage in order to not get any attraction from the common people. So, no one paid double attention to their queen’s arrival and was working for their daily lives. Only after, the carriage pulled in front of the Governor’s house and Frenchies jumped out of the carriage to open the door for her, everyone exclaimed to see that their queen personally paid visit to them. Before that, they never saw Ayra this close and always heard about her from the rumors.

The Governor of Jade Town Mr.Remond was thrilled when he heard about their arrival. He personally came to greet them respectively. Ayra got out of the carriage and gave an overwhelming smile to the people who stood far away from her. They all feared that Ayra didn’t like the crowd. So they just stayed away.

" My lady! You honour us!", Mr.Remond bowed at her respectfully, keeping his fists together as a sign of respect.

Ayra returned a small nod, looking around the town casually,

" Governor Remond! You don’t have to be so courteous. I came to investigate the matter of missing girls. Can you tell me in details?"

The Governor was shocked to hear her. Naturally, it was their king who came to solve this issues. He even had doubts in his heart if she really had the capabilities to do that or not. Regardless of that, he didn’t open his mouth since he cared for his life.

Governor Remond started to speak nervously, recalling the memories from years back,

" I.. It’s... repeating...My lady...It happened before when I was in charge of Shavel Town. Back at those days, some girls started to go missing from the town and they were never found either dead or alive! "

Ayra narrowed her eyes, sending a glare at Frenchies who also had no clue about the issues,

" What do you mean? How did it was resolved? Does your Lord know about it?"

Governor Remond shared his assumptions after taking a gulp,

" We informed him. Although, it was resolved right after telling him, I have no idea how it was solved in reality."

Ayra fell in dilemma. She had a feeling that Cedric knew about it but why didn’t he take any action? Controlling her curiosity, she asked looking around the people who seemed scared about the disaster, happening around the town,

" Tell me the details about those girls! How did they go there or..have you seen any trace of their murder?"

Governor Remond picked out a paper and spoke taking a look on it,

" Yes..I...I just made some points.. It’s a bit awkward that all the girls are 18 years old. Besides that, we haven’t seen any blood or their clothes in case they were killed. But all of them were young."

Ayra knitted her brows tightly together. She could see only one possibility here ___ Hayden. But after facing such wrath from Cedric, would he dare to make such a move so fast? If it wasn’t Hayden, who was it?

Frenchies reminded her worryingly,

" My lady...you shouldn’t take this matter lightly. We should wait for the Lord, I think!"

Ayra shook her head denying, looked up at the sky to mutter incoherently,

" We can’t... Frenchies..What if another girl goes missing? Don’t take my powers too lightly. I can fight back unless the opponent isn’t my own."

The last piece of words made Frenchies stunned. What did she mean on her own? By the time that he regained his consciousness, Ayra had already started heading towards the river from where all the girls had gone missing. After all, she was the queen of this land and it was also her responsibility to save her people from any tragedy.
