Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 578: The Herb
Jessie had never imagined in her whole life that Shanz could take such a big step to prove herself wrong. With his forced push on the knife, it successfully went under his skin and left a big hole on his chest. Jessie cried out in ecstasy when she saw him, dropping on the floor,
" Shanz!!"
He was on his knees with a smile. Blood rushed over to his mouth, turning him weak at the same time. He had a mysterious smile on his face to see her panicking. When her cries turned louder, the Butler including the people in charge of this mansion had rushed forward to see what happened. The butler’s eyes grew wide when he saw his master’s wound,
" YOUR HIGHNESS! SOMEONE! CALL THE HEALER NOW!"
The butler pushed Jessie from his way, and crunched down to take Shanz from the ground. A few more servants also joined in, helping him to take him away from the room. Only Jessie was left there in the daze,silent tears began to roll down from her eyes. She choked on her breath and looked down at the blood in her hand which still had her blood.
Half an hour later, the healer was already here to check on his health. Jessie didn’t dare to go next to him because she felt guilty for the accident that took place in the castle. She waited for the final result, next to the doorway. Some maids even said that she was pretending to care to avoid punishment. However, Jessie was far away from listening to their taunts. Her eyes were fixed on the man whose eyes were tightly shut.
After a while,the healer asked with a tight frown, looking down at his patience,
" Didn’t I tell him to not shed blood? How was he stabbed? His blood is jinxed from the beginning. Once it starts bleeding, it doesn’t stop so easily until the patience turns dead or half lifeless."
The Butler shot the healer a look of disbelief. Even Shanz never mentioned such a thing before this. Jessie held her breath for a short time as if the ground underneath her feet had dissolved.
Was this the reason that he forced her to stab him? He knew all the while that he might get killed in the process.
She heard Butler asking in a shaking voice,
" Is there no way..Mr.Healer? His highness isn’t usually so reckless. I didn’t know what happened..but..I will keep my eyes open from now on.."
The healer seemed thoughtful as if he was wrecking his memory hard. After letting out a sigh, he mumbled unsure of his words,
" Actually..I heard that there is a herb that can help to cure his highness completely but the herb is far away from this place. It will take at least a day to reach the Sasaka Mountain. Moreover, it is extremely hard to find that particular herb. I don’t know if your professional guards would be able to find it or not."
Before the butler could give any response, another voice responded,
" I will get it."
Both the butler and the healer glanced up in shock at the way. Jessie stood on the doorway, wearing a pained expression that seemed evident in her eyes. When Butler saw her, he burnt in fury. He denied an extremely cold voice,
" We don’t need your pity, Princess Jessie. I can manage it."
Jessie’s face hardened but she wasn’t surprised either. Everyone loathed her in this castle. The better treatment that she was getting was all because of Shanz. Jessie retorted in a firm voice,
" I know that you hold me responsible for his condition. Since I am the reason, I will fix it too."
The butler once again parted his lips to reject her offer,
" I said that I don’t need...."
" I believe that I have better abilities than you to find the cure, Butler.", Jessie cut off the butler coldly who fell silent uncomfortably. It was indeed the truth that Jessie was more powerful than him or the other guards. So, he gave up arguing and blurted unhappily,
" The guards will show you the way."
Jessie hummed as her response and turned around to walk out of the castle. Before she could turn, another figure rushed into the castle. The woman walked past her hastily to go into the room. Jessie’s track stopped out of curiosity to hear the woman’s wailing the next moment,
" What happened to Shanz? Your highness.. Please look at me...I have missed you so much.."
Jessie turned around to take a better look at the woman. Although she didn’t recognize her fully, she happened to meet her before. She was with Shanz at that time when she came to confront Shanz at the palace. Her heart sank deeper at the thoughts. Maybe, they were in a relationship.
Even the butler was shocked too. He didn’t expect that Kenneth would bother to come here. It must be one of the castle’s maids who informed her about Shanz’s condition. Kenneth was the first woman who served Shanz twice. Shanz said that he was fond of her body and called her to appear from time to time. Kenneth was head over heels to think that the king had taken interest in her. Now, the entire village also thought that she was the King’s favorite because of her frequent visit to the castle.
When Kenneth caught the sight of Jessie, her brows tightened together in annoyance. She glared sharply at Jessie first then turned her face to shout at the butler,
" Butler! Since when did you allow the maid to enter Shanz’s bedroom? Don’t you know that he doesn’t like others to touch his things? Take this girl out first."
The butler became speechless by her words. Please.. be careful what you say.. Shanz doesn’t even acknowledge you as his girlfriend.
The butler thought to himself and remained unmoving but Kenneth was running out of time. She stood up in short furiously to blurt,
" Forget it! I will kick her out personally."
