Chapter 579: Sasaka Mountain

Before the butler could say another word, Kenneth had already gone to grab Jessie’s wrist. She couldn’t understand why Butler had allowed a servant in the room. Her insecurities were getting strong day-to-day. She didn’t want any threat here. Whatever prestigious status she had earned so far all because of Shanz’s merit for becoming the acting king.

Kenneth extended her one hand, ready to grab Jessie but suddenly her wrist was caught in the midair. Giving her a murderous glare, Jessie asked coldly,

" What are you doing?"

Kenneth’s eyes widened much speechlessly. She couldn’t believe that a servant had actually dared to touch her wrist. She went nuts immediately in rage,

" You..How dare you hold my hands? How dare you glare down at me? Do you know who I am? Wait and watch! When Shanz wakes up, I will have him kicking you out of the castle, humph!"

Her words were like salt on Jessie’s wound. So, they were so close that Shanz was willing to kick out someone because of Kenneth’s words. Jessie’s anger erupted at the thought. Some feelings were uncontrollable just like jealousy. Women are never so tolerant against the other women who were related to the guy she likes.

The following moment, Jessie grabbed her wrist so hard that Kenneth flinched in pain. Kenneth roared angrily, twisting her wrist repeatedly to break free,

" What... What are you doing..You bitch.."

Jessie smirked at her painful expression. That arrogant look was gone which deeply pleased her. Twisting her lips tightly, Jessie revealed her identity,

" Fools work without knowing the entire truth, Miss Kenneth. To clear your vision, I have something interesting to tell you. I am not any maid or servant or..your lover’s Mistress. I am the youngest princess of Basarisk who doesn’t give a damn about a woman like you."

Kenneth’s expression sank deeper. Her eyes dilated slightly as she stared hard at Jessie in disbelief. Her eyes resembled the two tube bulbs. Little did, she heard the controversy between Shanz and a princess.

Was she the same princess?

As her mind clouded with doubts, Jessie added with a sarcastic smile, pulling Kenneth closer to whispering into her ears,

" Do you want to know the interesting information? I am his ex-girlfriend. I hope, you will remember how to speak from now on, Miss Kenneth. You don’t want to wake his old love, do you? It is said that if you can’t forget about your ex, then your current lover isn’t good enough. Remember my words of advice. You won’t let him feel that you aren’t good enough, will you?"

Kenneth’s expression turned pale in embarrassment. How could she compare herself with a Princess? Although her family members including her father and brother were all officials, it was nothing equal to the status of a princess. No matter what they did, they had to bow in front of a Royal.

Jessie let go of her wrist but not before yanking her backwards. Kenneth staggered a few steps before stopping. She glared up at Jessie who didn’t spare any glance and headed outside.

So what if they were lovers? It was Shanz who slept with her twice. He said that he liked her body. That was enough to win over a man’s heart, thought Kenneth all in her mind.

Jessie went straight to get a riding horse. She gathered all the information that she needed to find the exact herb. When she was climbing on the horse alone, some of the guards offered help,

" Princess! Let us come with you! It’s dangerous to ride alone on this Windy night."

Jessie refused to take any company. The healer said that the faster she could get the herb, it would be helpful for Shanz. She had to get back the herb before sunrise. In this situation, having so many guards following would only cause her more trouble. Jessie mumbled sternly, gripping the chain around the horse,

" Don’t bother! You stay here to guard the castle. I can handle it, trust me."

After that, she shook the chain to indicate the horse started running. With an animalistic noise, the horse started running in a different direction. The guards all stared at her running back awestruck. They never saw such a brave girl like her. It was like she feared nothing in this world.

The roads ahead Jessie weren’t very quiet at night. Naturally the shifter Chitahs all roamed at night to hunt their prey. They return to shape whenever the sun is up again. So, night was the only time for them to have a stall in the woods.

Jessie’s hair flew in the air. With her horse leading the way, she looked nothing less than a fearless warrior. Her jaw was still clenching hard in anger because of Kenneth’s words. She tried to ignore their relationship but the sore feeling in her heart didn’t disappear.

After passing long woods that were wrapped in darkness, the small Sasaka Mountain arrived finally. The mountain was small like a valley. Jessie couldn’t understand what this small mountain had. The butler said that the mountain was dangerous for anyone to enter. Everyone skipped visiting here even the Chitahs avoided hunting in this area.

With a thud, she climbed down from the horse to go over the mountain. Her steps were careful as she was analyzing the whole environment. After going up to the mountain, her eyes caught the red herbs, dancing against the powerful win. She was only a few steps away to get the herbs but why did she feel like she had a smooth pass here? Could it be any trick or magic here happening?

Jessie looked around again to see any entity here. When she felt nothing around her path, she proceeded to take the herbs again. Crunching down on the soil, she wrapped her hand around the herb to pull it out but a loud roar of an animal suddenly buzzed closely, sending a chill to her spine.
