The maid was surprised by Shanz’s words. She replied truthfully,
" That..Your Highness... Princess Jessie went to the forbidden land to get these herbs for you. I mean, the entire castle knows this."
With her jaw dropping revelation, Shanz could barely control his feet to stay in place. It took a while for him to register everything until memories of his bad behavior crossed his mind. Pressing his lips together nervously, he stammered, asking for the confirmation again,
" Are..you.. sure..."
The maid was dumbstruck again but nodded keeping her words polite,
" Of course, My King. Why would I lie? Besides, she is severely injured because of that..."
The maid didn’t get the chance to finish her words as Shanz had already gone from there without caring about his health. Kenneth who overheard the conversation chased after him, crying and begging to stop,
" My Lord! You shouldn’t go there in this state. Let me accompany you..My Lord.."
However, Shanz had gone already. When Kenneth saw the noisy maid, she stormed forward and slapped hard across her cheeks. The maid let out a wail and heard her arrogant tone,
" The day, I enter this palace officially, you will be a dead meat, woman." 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
Back in the woods, Jessie was more than curious behind the faces of this Chitahs. She didn’t offend anyone very recently. It was suspicious to see how they were trying to attack her without any valid reason. Jessie repeated her question again, not backing away like a coward,
" What do you want?"
The Chitahs didn’t answer her question. Instead, they began to circle her slowly as if they were sizing their prey. Naturally, Chitahs formed a group before attacking someone, a rule followed by the shifter Chitahs. One of them responded who had a black scar in his head,
" Guest from Basarisk Kingdom? I wonder what our acting king has seen inside you. How can we allow people from Basarisk to live in our own land so peacefully?"
Jessie snapped her eyes at Chitah whose voice was heard clearly. For some reason, she felt that she knew this Chitahs too. The way, they talked, it felt like they had some previous grudges with her. Jessie replied with a scoff, her eyes observing their movements very cautiously,
" You should ask your acting king about it then. He is the one who let me stay here."
The Chitahs all laughed together as if they heard a new joke from her. Jessie furrowed hard at their bicker and looked down at her feet, preparing herself to transform into her dragon shape. Another Chitah replied who had a nasal voice that sounded creepy in her ears,
" That’s why we are here, Sweetheart. We are supposed to correct his path through you tonight."
Jessie as always had always been hot tempered. She lost her calmness easily and reacted after giving them a sharp glare,
" You wish!! You don’t know who you are messing with!!"
Jessie said in an enraged voice and at the same time, her feet raised together in the air to fly up in the sky as a dragon. However, before she could even fly up in the air, something was shot into her neck. She gasped hard in pain and felt something injecting through her skin. The following moment, she fell on the ground, shuddering all over her body.
She looked horrifically at the group of Chitahs to hear their mockery,
" Tsk,.. poor little soul..You didn’t think that we had come without any preparation, did you?"
Jessie looked down at her feet which didn’t transform anymore even after giving all her strength. She was failing to shift herself despite trying hard. She blurted through her gritted teeth,
" What.. what did you do?"
She started feeling the change within her body. It was more like her dragon self had been grounded and all her strength remained as a human only. Something was blocking her powers inside. Sweat morphed on her face gradually. With the cold coming from the air, her human weak body was getting worse.
The youngest one teased, enjoying her poor condition,
" Poor girl! Where did your gut go, hmm? Is your little spirit gone?"
Only then, Jessie understood that they had actually blocked her dragon power temporarily. It had only one meaning that they had known about her well. With her weakness, she still tried hard to scare them off,
" My brother will kill all of you."
After she mentioned Cedric, the Chitahs were full of rage. The black scarred one launched forward and pouched on her face to leave a scar,
" How dare you mention that monster in front of us?"
Jessie fell with a wail, wincing in pain after her face had gotten a fresh scar. Despite everything, she couldn’t use her magic. She clearly understood that she was in deep trouble. After all, Shanz wasn’t going to bother about her safety and hated her like an enemy.
How would she save herself from these animals?
The youngest Chitah came forward in rage, running his eyes across her delicate body,
" She is a bad mouthed bitch. Why don’t we have our taste first?"
Jessie’s eyes grew red in rage after she caught the meaning behind his words. She snapped at him in a growl,
" BASTARD, I WILL KILL YOU!"
Jessie raised herself up with difficulties but the Chitah was quick and fast to attack on her. She was thrown back on the ground again with the youngest Chitah, hovering on top of her. Chitah ripped her clothes off with one single pounce and growled loudly,
" Bitch! I will show you how to fear the shifter Chitah. Do you think that the king is interested in you? Fool! He can never love anyone. Only these women are his bedmates. Once you get molested and die in our hands, he will eventually forget about you. Brothers, help me hold down this bitch."
The other Chitahs all came forward to help him without thinking about the consequences.
