Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 588: The Journal
After the chaos in JADE TOWN, Ayra and Cedric were returned to the castle safely. Hayden didn’t reappear to cause trouble again but the question about why he was killing young girls left Ayra suspicious. Even though Cedric promised that he would take care of everything, her mind wasn’t at ease. Possibly it was because she had started to believe in her heart that she was the queen of Basarisk or she had grown closer to Cedric more than before.
Again that night, Cedric was gone for the second time, promising that he would return before morning. So, Ayra was left in the castle with Alexander, Elizabeth and Arthur who was the new guest in their castle.
After she told them what exactly happened in Jade Town, Arthur reacted first, gritting his teeth in anger,
" Damn!! How dare Cedric bring you there! This is fucking dangerous! No, Sister! Your man is unworthy."
Alexander stopped him, his eyes staring at his sister’s face knowingly,
" She is no longer young. She needs to be the queen by herself, Brother. Don’t be angry!"
Alexander could feel the love that had bloomed in her heart. In fact, he understood that she was doing everything for loving Cedric. It wasn’t easy to win her heart just by some responsibilities or other words. Ayra let out a heavy sigh as she plopped down to sit on the couch,
" I am just worried! I really want to help him but I have no clue. We had never had any demons in our kingdom."
Elizabeth was leaning quietly at a corner. She listened to her friend’s worries and recalled the bunch of books that Cedric had piled. She often met Alexander in that library but nowadays, things are getting hard because of Arthur’s arrival. He had always snatched the quality time between them and had been close to Elizabeth too often. Elizabeth snapped her finger before suggesting,
" Why don’t you read the diary of Cedric’s late mother? She was attached to the demons, wasn’t she? She definitely knows how to deal with them."
Ayra’s face lit up as well. Maybe Jasmine had an idea since she was impregnated by a demon spell before her death. Definitely, she had gone through the investigation of knowing more about demons. On that very night, Ayra went to the library to find out the details. It was the only way to dig out information. Since Cedric wasn’t present in the castle, she went through the staff comfortably.
The library was long on the second floor, wrapped in darkness. After stepping inside, she was clueless to see not a single lamb was present inside the library. It looked dull and empty in its darkness. As she went forward into the library, the surroundings suddenly lit up with the fireflies, coming out of nowhere. Upon close inspection, she realized that those were magical fireflies with more light than normal living fireflies. They worked to illuminate the space wholly.
Crossing the pile of average books, she spotted the logo called journals. She happened to hear from Frenchies that people from this family loved to keep their personal journals. In this hope, she went to that particular section to find out the journal, written by Jasmine.
After going through the several ancient diaries which were probably written by their ancestors, she was hopeless and let out a heavily frustrated sigh. There were all kinds of journals except the one, written by Jasmine.
Where did they keep the journal or it was hidden on purpose?
But she wasn’t willing to give up. Hayden was getting terrible every single day. Bringing his destruction was mandatory. Pondering over the matter, she remembered the magnificent power of Siemus. As the shifter eagles, she had the ability to find out something in a few seconds. Maybe she could help her out.
Leaving the library again, she rushed into Siemus’s room and pushed the door open without a knock. Siemus was startled on her bed as except for the Frenchies, no one was so rude to her. Her face became pale when she saw Ayra panting. Ayra ran over to her and urged quickly,
" Aunty Siemus! Help me find something. I need to find a journal, written by the former queen. I am guessing that Cedric has hidden it somewhere. Only you can find it for me."
Siemus’s face turned pale in fear. She wasn’t sure whether it was a good thing to provoke the anger of the demon king by invading his privacy. Thus, she hesitated but Ayra kept nagging her,
" You can’t say ’No’ to me. I must find it at any cost."
Siemus rubbed her head worriedly. She sighed heavily before compromising,
" Fine!! I will try but you can’t tell him that I helped you out. Also, aren’t we prohibited from using magic here?"
Ayra grinned and assured in a low voice,
" He broke the spell recently as his enemies were getting dangerous day by day."
Siemus hummed in response and closed her eyes shut to gather her powers. After a brief seconds passed, her mind did a quick tour around the castle, not leaving any corner to look for the journal.
Siemus furrowed, snapping her eyes open strangely. Didn’t Ayra say that the journal was in the castle?
She took a deep breath to calm down her mind and closed her eyes off again to concentrate on her powers. Once again, she searched around the castle with her magical eagle eyes but there was nothing in their castle.
Siemus opened her mouth to speak finally,
" Baby! Are you sure that the journal is here? I don’t seem to find it here."
Ayra blinked several times cluelessly. It was her guess that the journal would be here as Cedric treasured his mother the most. Maybe she was wrong to assume it. Taking a deep breath, she told Siemus again,
" Find it outside then. I know, you have the power to look out everywhere."
Siemus nodded before going to use her powers for the third time. Her mind went around Basarisk, crossing the lands and finally she saw a mansion which was very far away from the castle. Siemus muttered, keeping her shut tightly,
" What.. what is this town....This old mansion..Who used to live here? There...there.. It’s a town..Isle Town... Princess...Have you ever gone to this mansion? It belongs to his highness."
