Jessie’s face turned hot from the sudden memory, returning in her thoughts. She couldn’t resist him that night when he came out from the battlefield, all covered in blood. Unlike her elder sister, she wasn’t scared by bloodshed or other bloody things. She always admired those men who battled on the battlefield openly. Hence, she was tempted that night and decided to steal her first kiss. However, it went terribly wrong when he was pretending to be in slumber sleep but he was fully awake.

Another thunderbolt from the sky interrupted their peaceful conversation. Shanz didn’t want to waste his time here, bumped on the horse to start the riding. The horse went off, leaving the people behind through the light rainfall.

Jessie clung onto the horse, did everything for not touching him but the man seemed to be getting closer the more time passed. At some point, he pressed her tightly against her chest and warned furiously,

" Do it again! I will just drop you off here."

Shanz knew very well that Jessie doesn’t take orders from anyone. The only possible way to make her listen was a threat. So, he used the harsh way instead of sweet talking. It took a few minutes for them to arrive at the castle.

At the entrance, Kenneth was already waiting for them impatiently. Her expression dropped when she spotted Shanz carrying Jessie in his arms. Jessie grounded her teeth in his arms, fuming in anger,

" Fucking put me down!! Don’t you care that your girlfriend is watching?"

Shanz seemed to ignore her words. He only muttered his reply when he crossed the door,

" No!! But I do mind when my ex-girlfriend is angry!"

Jessie glared at him but he was completely unaffected, even walked effortlessly. Kenneth went behind them, telling anxiously,

" Your Highness! Drop her down! Let me help her. You aren’t healed yet fully."

Shanz spat his words out, getting annoyed by her pretentious act,

" Leave us alone!"

Kenneth stopped in her heartbreaking track. Soon after they disappeared behind the door, her lips trembled together before tears started to fall down. She couldn’t believe that Shanz had completely turned blind after getting his first love back.

Inside the bedroom, Jessie was dropped down on the bed despite her struggling. She winched in pain and cursed all the ancestors of the shifter Chitahs in series. She was still angry at the fact that they dared to block her powers. Not to mention, they tried to violate her. If her powers were normal, she would have cut their balls out just for having the thought.

Shanz looked worried for her. After he grabbed her wrist, he tried to see through the spell that they used on her. Seems it wasn’t major, Shanz let out a sigh of relief, saying in a soft voice,

" It will be okay after tonight. Your powers aren’t damaged permanently."

Jessie snorted arrogantly, furrowing at the pain,

" I know that! Do you think that it’s easy to hunt down a Royal Dragon princess? I will make sure to use their skin to make my shoes or bags. Just wait for my recovery. It’s my fault to stay in this castle. I should have gone back. Do whatever you wish but I am leaving tomorrow."

The thought of her leaving shook his whole eternal being. All of a sudden, a rush of panic crawled into his heart. He sounded desperate when he grasped her hands to blurt sternly,

" You aren’t going anywhere!!"

Jessie raised her brows, replying in a threatening manner,

" Excuse me?"

She heard it wrong, right?

Shanz couldn’t resist his emotions anymore. He began to blurt crazily,

" Don’t.. don’t leave, Jess..Even though we hate each other, let’s continue hating each other for the rest of our lives but stay with me.. Please.."

Jessie let out a bitter laugh, tears of overwhelming emotions blocking her mind. She blurted in a choking voice,

" Stay with you?? For what reason, Shanz? Tell me, what will you do one day when my sister will come to claim the throne or my brother will gather his soldiers in front of your castle? What will you do with them?"

Shanz was silent for a while. It was indeed true that he wanted revenge for his dear brother who was executed in the Basarisk. Even he hated his sister-in-law who didn’t do anything to save Vincent. How will he forgive them? There was no way that his heart would ever accept the truth and let them go. 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

As the thoughts ran across his mind, his eyes became red in rage. He snapped them up and blurted looking straight into Jessie’s eyes with burning hatred,

" Kill them off!!"

Jessie’s tears fell off without breaking their eye-contact. Her lips stretched into a bitter smile, speaking a bit shaky,

" That’s what I am saying. We can never be together. Our destiny will always collide. It’s better that we don’t see each other ever again. Let me go, Shanz."

Shanz looked up at her blankly. In his dark life, she was the only source of happiness that he ever found. After these years of separation, he was doing all okay until he met her again. How could he let her go even after knowing that she still loved him?

He whispered, grabbing her hands again,

" Everyone has their destiny. Even you have many probably but I only have you as my destiny. Even if you hate me for killing your family, I can’t let you go again. Even if I have to face your brother, I won’t let you go this time. From this day onwards, you are grounded here. You hate me, don’t you? Fine! I will give you reasons to hate me more, Jess."

Before Jessie could register his last words, the doors and windows all locked on its own, startling her who didn’t take his words seriously a while ago. Jessie shouted in despair, looking around worriedly,

" What.. what do you want from me, Shanz?"
