Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 594: The Half Pendant
Thanks to her powerful magic, the journal disappeared on its own, feeling the unfathomable fear of its master. Ayra heavied a sigh of relief secretly when the journal vanished into her thin waist.
She turned around to meet his dark demonic eyes. Those eyes looked bloodless and frightening. However, there was a soft, gentle smile on his face when he greeted his lady. Ayra responded, finally regaining her rational thoughts,
" No..I mean..I couldn’t sleep..I was waiting for you...Where do you go these days so often?"
Cedric came in front of her to take her face. Truth to be told, he hated to overwork outside. But Hayden’s actions had been stirring trouble in his kingdom. He had to stay alert for everything. He placed a deep kiss on her lips, mumbling as he went in front of the mirror to drop something,
" Hayden is a trouble, you know. I am just increasing our safety protocols."
Ayra turned back to look deep into his eyes. He looked tired and stressed. Probably, this was the first time that she saw him, getting tired after their marriage for work. Her heart ached for him as she said going over to take off his coat,
" Why don’t you take me with you? I might offer some help. You can trust me, you know."
Cedric shook his head with a sullen expression, his voice hinting at some unknown fear,
" It’s not safe for you yet. I am afraid that he would harm you. Stay here until I am sure that he isn’t planning something big."
Ayra didn’t argue on that but she had to read the journal. If her fate was linked to Hayden, she definitely had to do something. She couldn’t push the kingdom into danger for her own well being. She was pretty sure that Cedric wouldn’t hesitate to buy off his kingdom if he had to do it to save her from any harm.
Cedric took his clothes off, his firm body came in her view. She noticed the scars that didn’t heal yet. She heard that Demon could heal themselves but she was worried why it was lasting so long. Stepping forward to stop him from going, she caressed the scar before asking,
" Why aren’t you healed yet? I am getting worried now. Should we seek some help? This doesn’t look good."
Cedric saw through her worries but he didn’t know whether to be happy or sad. He switched the topic, diverting her attention from his body,
" Your birthday is coming. Have you forgotten that?I haven’t planned how to celebrate it yet."
Ayra looked up at him astonishingly. She never thought that he was a husband who would value her birthday greatly. In her earlier days in Dalastia World, her mothers prepared a grand celebration all throughout the kingdoms. Thousands of lanterns were released on her names and it was nothing less than a big event. But this year, it was going to happen in a different place with a different identity. She wasn’t the lovely princess anymore but a wife and queen who had responsibilities to look after.
She smiled before shaking her head gently,
" The situation is already tense. I don’t want to provoke Hayden for troubles. He will cause ruckus in the party if he gets the chance."
Cedric narrowed his eyes after her words. The situation was intense but he couldn’t just let it go. What will her parents think of him that he couldn’t even offer her a celebration on her first birthday in Basarisk?
He scooted closer, wrapped his arms around her slim waist to blurt firmly,
" Nothing will happen to you as long as I am here. You should prepare yourself already. Tell me, where would you like to celebrate?"
Ayra took the chance to tease him,
" How about Dalastia? In that way, I can invite everyone including my friends..Seth.."
That name brought darker layers on his face. He growled, pulling her closer so that her face hit his chest,
" Over my fucking dead body! "
Ayra laughed out loud and told him sincerely,
" As long as our kingdom is safe, I don’t need any celebration. I need you only. Birthdays come every year. It is not a big deal. Promise me that you won’t take any risk?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Her words caused his heart to raise different emotions. Those were so pure and genuine that he stopped talking for a while. He understood that she had started accepting her role as a queen wholeheartedly. Now, he could do anything without worrying about his family or people.
He pulled her closer to his face to mutter sincerely,
" I promise you! This will be your best birthday ever."
Ayra smiled back in return and pushed him to go to the washroom. In the meantime, she took out the journal one more time to hide it in a safer place. Looking around the room, she finally found a corner which had a small wardrobe. It wasn’t used by them so far. Even Cedric barely stayed in the room. So, she found it safe to hide the journal and put it in there before Cedric could come out. The journal should be hidden until she was done reading no matter what. Cedric would never allow it. So, it was the only way.
In this thought, she walked over the wardrobe hastily and sat down to place the journal. But right before she could place the journal inside the drawer, something dropped off from it, startling her out of nervousness. She was already in hurry to finish her task before Cedric had finished his shower inside the washroom.
She furrowed before picking up the half pendant that came out of the journal. She clutched it between her fingers, wondering why she didn’t find it earlier. However, the pendant seemed similar in her eyes as if she had seen it somewhere before.
But where did she see the pendant? Why couldn’t she remember it clearly that where she saw it?
