Chapter 598: The Hiding Part One

Back to Elizabeth’s room, Elizabeth held her breath as the door flung open without warning. Her eyes went wide in surprise and shock as no one ever stepped in without taking her permission. The door was pushed open wide and Arthur’s silhouette soon came in front of her vision.

Her throat felt dry in fear of meeting the unexpected guest all of a sudden. Elizabeth blurted, turning pale eventually,

" What.. what are you doing here?"

Arthur didn’t seem to be in shock. He stared back at her with the same bewilderment. He couldn’t find the reason for her shock. Elizabeth looked aside her and surely, Alexander was gone from her side. Instead of being happy, she felt a sheer disappointment in her heart. Once again, he fled away as soon as he saw his brother.

Arthur didn’t notice the fresh blood on her neck. It was possibly because he was too worried about her health. Eyeing her from head to toe, he said apologizing,

" I am sorry...I thought, you might be too sick since you didn’t answer my knocks. So, I came inside without permission. I hope, you aren’t angry with me, Elizabeth?"

Elizabeth forced a smile on her face, muttering as she turned around to hide the bite under her long blonde hair,

" Arthur! I am really fine. Please don’t be so worried. You can go back to sleep now. I really need to rest."

Arthur opened his mouth to say something but Elizabeth was already climbing on her bed. He could only sigh and leave without another word. As he came out of the room, he headed straight to his room back. He loved the girl for a very long time. He was never afraid of showing his feelings or unusual care for her because in his judgement, it was necessary to show love for the person that he wanted badly.

However, he was surprised to see his brother coming from a different direction at this hour. They used to trip around the castle in Dalastia but he didn’t know that his brother didn’t change his habit here too. Alexander didn’t have any pleased expressions. Besides, his clothes were still unchanged as if he had just arrived from outside. Spotting his brother from a distance, Arthur hurried his pace on his way.

Elizabeth didn’t remember at that time that her room had an open corridor. So, it was easier for a vampire like Alexander to jump down so fast. He sensed his brother as soon as he knocked on Elizabeth’s door.

Arthur came to him hastily, putting on a big smile,

" Bro, where did you go at this hour? Look, I have just come out of Elizabeth’s room. She seems to be in a bad mood. By the way, I have heard that there’s a festival in the Basarisk soon. Why don’t we take her there? I will buy her everything that she likes. Will you go too?"

Alexander saw the love and affection that Arthur held in his eyes for Elizabeth. For the very first time, he didn’t feel good about that neither did he like the idea of them going together. Alexander gave it a quick thought and understood that it was time to tell Arthur everything. Otherwise his hopes were going to be bigger each single day. Hence, Alexander nodded his head blankly before telling in a serious voice,

" We will go together and discover everything that day."

Arthur didn’t know the depth of his words but he smiled big and contended, thinking that he would finally have his time to impress Elizabeth again.

Cedric was gone from the castle, crossing the lands of creatures then reappearing in the world of demons. He wasn’t quite unfamiliar with the palaces here. However, there were still a lot of mysteries that he didn’t know about this world.

Frenchies was on his side, looking around the demon castle which was all dark and gloomy, even darker than their night castle in Basarisk. He asked in worry,

" Where did they go? How are we supposed to find them? We aren’t familiar with this realm, My Lord."

Cedric stood exactly on the spot from where they disappeared. Nothing was broken there as if they didn’t indulge into any fights. Cedric gave it a long thought and figured out that Hayden wouldn’t be so foolish to hide the demon king in this realm. If he did, the demon soldiers would have found it easily. After all, they were perfectionists in going everywhere without any prior notice. So..the one possible place that Hayden could control was....

Cedric stopped thinking and turned around to tell Frenchies quickly,

" Let’s go back. They aren’t in this realm."

Somewhere in the Basarisk,

" You...you stole my soul collecting jade?", Ralph couldn’t believe that his own son had trapped his soul with the intention of hurting. After today, he really regretted that he begged for this unscrupulous son. Maybe it was better for him to be left with no heir on his throne.

Hayden who had the dazzling jade pendant in his right hand grinned wickedly at his father. Luckily, he stole it a long time ago but never thought of using it on his own father. The soul sucking jade had the ability to burn and torment a soul. Since he couldn’t do anything to his father for his immense powers, he thought of torturing his soul unless he told what he did to his soul exactly.

Ralph was stuck inside blue glass walls which were glazing brightly. But the burning flame was hurting his soul, burning it until he was left with scars and bruises.

Hayden replied innocently, twisting his lips in mockery,

" I have no plan to kill you, father. How can I bear to kill you since we have the same blood? But..if you don’t tell me the truth..I can continue this torture without stopping at all.. tsk..Sad for you..There is no one for you in this world to look for you or to worry.. It’s me and you only.."
