Jasmine looked startled by his question. She could literally feel the unfathomable affection behind his tone. For unknown reasons, her heart beat wildly. She stuttered, not understanding how to show her displeasure,
" You...you know..I am married.."
" So what?", came the straight answer from Ralph. He wondered what was the reason for holding onto that love which only hurt her every single day. He didn’t try to hide what he felt for her today.
Jasmine lowered her eyes down nervously. Taking a deep breath, she corrected her words, looking back into his demonic eyes,
" I am in love with someone else, Ralph."
This time, Ralph felt though someone had stabbed deep inside his heart. Jasmine indirectly meant that marriage was not an issue here. She wholeheartedly loved Oscar and devoted her life, love to him. There wasn’t any space for anyone anymore.
At that time, Ralph really wanted to laugh at himself. There were at least a thousand women who would like to leave everything behind to be his wife yet he fell in love with the least expected person on the planet who couldn’t be hers. Probably love never came from sweet trees.

More than a month had passed since Oscar had disappeared from the castle. During this time, Jasmine visited demon realms back to fourth and waited for Oscar to calm down. However, numerous gossips started circulating around her. The maids started telling that Jasmine had become a witch, she slept with dark creatures and more terrible comments.
Jasmine didn’t pay attention to them. As long as Oscar accepted her, outsiders didn’t matter to her anymore. One night, Jasmine was having terrible aching in her womb. She didn’t understand what had gone wrong but earlier, Ralph said that he wouldn’t be meeting her for days as they had a war coming soon. Ralph had to look after it personally in his realm. He didn’t want to take her in that environment.
Their relationship grew stronger during that time. It was never love but Jasmine knew that he treated her differently. On that very night, Oscar came to the castle for the first time and found the maids, peeking into the room of Jasmine.
Ever since Jasmine had become pregnant and everyone knew that she used dark magic, the maids avoided her as much as possible. Even though Jasmine was wailing and crying on the bed, not a single maid went to take care of her. She was all alone, crying and asking for help desperately.
Spotting Oscar nearby, the maids quickly bowed their heads and stuttered in fear,
" Your.. your highness..you..you are back.. Actually..Lady Jasmine is having a stomach ache.. Should we call the healer or..."
The maids thought that Oscar was definitely worried for Jasmine. But to their surprise, Oscar replied with a scowl, not bothering to go inside,
" Let her be! She deserves it. Besides, it’s not my concern to care for her child. You all go to bed. Since she brought this child alone in this world, she can take care of herself alone too."
The maids looked at each other then retracted according to his command. Behind them, Jasmine cries got louder and louder. Oscar stayed outside of the room for a while, heard Jasmine’s scream and wailing as well but didn’t go outside.
Actually, he searched for help during the whole month to know how to get rid of this child. One of his master dragons told him that it was impossible to kill Jasmine’s child now as some powerful demon was protecting it always. But once the child was born, he could kill it as the deal between Jasmine and that particular demon would be broken. The demon wouldn’t have so much control over Jasmine or the child. So, Oscar was waiting for the right moment to come and kill the baby. In fact, he was considering his father’s offer of marrying someone else. It was his dream to sit on the throne but without an heir, he wouldn’t get it. His brothers were already working on it. Now if they learnt about Jasmine’s mysterious baby, they would try to plot against him stronger than before. But it was also true that he loved Jasmine and married her on his own will even going against her family who didn’t want their daughter to get married in a Royal Family. Some family liked peace in family more than status like Jasmine’s family.
Jasmine cried harder, twisting the sheet. Through her teary eyes, she caught a glimpse of Oscar’s silhouette, standing on the doorway. She cried out for help, wailing and crying,
" Husband...help...it.. hurts..."
Oscar turned his back on her. Instead of going inside, he walked far away from the room, leaving her alone in pain. Jasmine felt broken as soon as he was gone without checking on her. For the first time, after so many years of their marriage, she asked herself,
" Did she love the right person in this life?"
Her physical and emotional pain blocked her thoughts. Slowly, her eyelids became weak as she began to feel numb because of the pain. When she thought that she was going to die today, a black silhouette appeared in front of her blurry vision all of a sudden.
Ralph’s anxious voice echoed in her ears faintly,
" Jasmine.. what happened to you... Jasmine..open your eyes...look at me.. nothing will happen to you..I am taking you away..you hear me? You don’t have to stay here anymore.."
Jasmine had no strength to give any reply. In her daze, she only felt someone picking her up in his arms carefully. Suddenly, she felt very secure and fell asleep peacefully even though the pain was breaking her bones. In her half conscious mind, she questioned herself. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
Didn’t Ralph say that he was busy? How did he know that she was in pain?
