Loved By a Vampire King-Chapter 618: Forbidden Love Tastes Sweet ( Jasmine & Ralph - Part 15)
Ralph didn’t smile at her words. He was supposed to feel happy with her confession but he could see the literal conflict in her eyes. His lips pressed together to say something but nothing came out. Jasmine took a step forward, her voice cracking as she said,
" But...I won’t be there to see that unfortunately.."
She laughed between her tears, letting it fall down. This time, the stone cold hearted demon king had some reaction. His shoulders became stiff, his chest became stuffy as if the weight of the whole world had been dropped on his shoulders. He was too silent, silent for the whole world. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶
Ralph remembered the proud voice of his grandfather. Once, he told that if he became the demon king, he could get anything from all the realms. Then why couldn’t he get the woman that he loved? Was really power weak against love?
He could have abducted her to this world or forced her to stay but he was scared of her hate more than her love. Ralph didn’t say anything. His silence was killing Jasmine in each moment. Maybe everyone was right on the words that silence could kill anyone. Today, she was feeling the same.
Holding her tears, Jasmine dragged her feet weakly towards Ralph. Using her feet, she hugged him gently to bury her head into his neck. Her tears couldn’t stop for a second. It was falling relentlessly on his broad shoulders. Jasmine muttered in her choked voice,
" You are great, Demon King..but..we have met..each others ín wrong time..If there is another life..I want you to meet me first before anyone... else..I want you to do me favours for the last time..Tell me, you will keep your promise?"
Ralph clenched his fists together on both sides. Something was battling inside his heart. It was cracking in pain to the point that his own voice trembled when he replied to her,
" Say...it..."
This time, Jasmine squeezed her eyes shut to cry harder. Even on their last meeting, he was putting on her needs first before anything else. Jasmine muttered into his neck, fighting with her tears,
" This is our last.. meeting..You will never come in my life...You won’t ask for my son ever..My son will never know that he has anything to do with the Demon realm...Can you do this for me? I just.. want everything well for my son...Also please close the portal to come into your relam for forever. I don’t want to be greedy."
Ralph didn’t say anything. His stiff body stood there as if the eternity had stopped for him. However, his silence was the other answer to his promise. Jasmine let out a choked breath and leant her head on his shoulders to shed a few more tears. After a dead silence, she raised her feet to match his height. Without exchanging another word, her cold lips left a peck on his lips. Jasmine muttered before letting him go,
" This is our goodbye kiss! You aren’t wrong, Demon King. We just met each other at the wrong time."
Jasmine didn’t wait another second. She turned before running into the portal to go back. That was the last time that the demon king saw light in his room. As soon as she was gone, closing all the relationships that they had, he fell on the ground on his knees. For the first time, he felt defeated as a king as a father and now as a lover. No one knew what happened between them but after a while, the scream of the demon king had echoed in the whole castle.
Meanwhile, Jasmine was back in her own castle. As soon as she came out of the portal, she couldn’t stop crying. She blamed herself for everything. Whenever she thought that she wouldn’t get the chance to see Ralph again, her heart was getting suffocated. The pain was too unbearable. But surprisingly, she didn’t feel guilty for having feelings for Ralph.
Didn’t she always say that she loved only Oscar? Why did she feel so bad for breaking Ralph?
She kept weeping on her bed until the sound of glass breaking caught her attention. She brought her eyes to see the portal that was getting destroyed slowly. It was a door made of glass. For outsiders, it was a full view mirror but for her, it was her way of happiness which she destroyed today.
Jasmine burst into more tears when she saw it breaking. It meant that Ralph had accepted her decision. He wouldn’t come to her again in her lifetime. Even if she begged or faced danger, he wouldn’t come like before. He must be hating her now for using his kindness for her own selfish desires.
Right at that moment, Jasmine heard footsteps, coming in the way of her room. She was momentarily panicked as the portal wasn’t fully destroyed yet. She got up to walk to the doorway to see a maid standing there. The maid gave a long bow before telling,
" My lady! His highness has asked you to pick up clothes for the baby shower. I was coming to call you for that."
Jasmine asked, hiding the tears,
" Is he back in the castle already? Why didn’t anyone tell me?"
The maid smiled nervously. She couldn’t understand why Jasmine was so anxious to meet Oscar all of sudden. The maid still responded politely,
" His highness is having private discussion with the people that came from the king’s land. I guess he is busy that’s why."
However, Jasmine didn’t care for that. She thought that meeting Oscar would lessen her pain. Ignoring the maid’s warning, she continued to walk to the room where they were having secret discussions. Jasmine didn’t think that anything could be more important to Oscar than her. Besides, the couple never had any secrets between them except the last incidents. So, Jasmine continued to proceed to the study room and unexpectedly heard the conversation between Oscar and the officials of the king who worked for Oscar secretly...
